Recommend with caveats. Play this if you're looking for something cozy and charming and happened to have it in your library from a deep sale. I think it's a fun game with lots of love in it. You probably won't know how to do a lot of things, and guides/wiki is very outdated. Still haven't figured out how to evolve my magnus despite following the stat/lvl guides, favorite item guide, and brushed them daily to get more hearts. Also randomly get this bug where a crafted item thinks its a piece of meat instead. Also happened with a quest reward [a Page Ring]. The ring fixed itself on restarting the game, but item ID errors that are supposed to be "rare" happened to me twice within one hour of playing. I am debating trying to play the beta branch version, since supposedly the devs continued working on it according to a post dated Jan 2024. But based on the fact Magnus Studios is working on Project Survival(working title) under Shueisha Games studio, I'm guessing they cut ties with 505 and cannot continue working on Re:Legend if their contract didn't allow them to. From what I gather, they did follow through on their kickstarter stretch goals, but struggled with rewards. Based on research on both 505 and Shueisha Games, I am cautiously optimistic that their new publisher will do a better job of supporting Magnus's ambitions for Project Survival, but that's a whole other story. TLDR: Re:Legend is a fun time, but temper your expectations. You will have fun if you like this type of game, but it may not feel "complete" after you roll the credits. I kind of wish more people DID play this game so that the modding community might pick it up and do some cool stuff with it. Definitely has a lot of potential in that sense. Edit: I have since figured out how to evolve my magnus. The index in your menu is your best friend, especially the evolution section of it. I decided to play the game for the story and not try so hard to catch everything. I'm having way more fun progressing this way. I will eventually fill out my barn once I have the will to maintain a zoo after exploring the world. There are a few bugs here and there, but usually saving/quitting, and restarting fixes them. I'm finding that this game might just be a bit more underrated than I expected. I think that a lot of the negative reviews are valid, but I'm finding that the fun I have playing this far outweighs the cons. If you can catch it on sale I think it's definitely worth. I also am finding that in the lack of guides and hype around this game actually kind of makes it feel more charming. Reminds me of the good ole days in the 90s where you found out secrets and things on your own or from a very small community of people who play the same game. STILL THINK THIS GAME SHOULD BE PLAYED BY MORE PEOPLE SO THAT MODDERS MIGHT MAKE IT EVEN COOLER.
officially abandoned
Really disappointed that this was abandoned, was really looking forward to this
I download this game when it still have no achivement When I check the steam have achivement, I though it already finished, but no it was abandoned. I was quite hopeful back then because it was developed by South East Asian country, a region where it was very rare to develop games. I won't buy any more early access games after this.
Abandoned. And now they are going to publish a new early access game next year.
bad, the controls are an actual nightmare and everything is a chore
Devs abandoned the game. UI is booty and super-unintuitive. Heck, even the first fight of the game is bugged because you literally cannot draw your weapon. You either click your left analog on controller or, for some god awful reason, the @ button. Neither work. The fast that it's still even able to be purchased is crazy to me. The only reason I decided to download and play today is because I back this on Kickstarter years ago and got a steam code through that. And even that was like pulling teeth. awful awful awful.
The game is in a poor state, left unfinished and abandoned by the devs. A recent post is offering kickstarter backers a refund, but nothing of the sort for Steam early access supporters. It had promise but is not in a state worth the slog of overcoming issues and bugs that will never be fixed. The devs have stated they dont even have access to the steam backend to fix things, even if they wanted to. Don't waste your time and money with this.
Really fun game, despite being currently abandoned. Would love if the dev's came back to it. Either way. Lots of fun.
落ち着くBGMとお手軽なアクション、農業、釣り、ペット育成等々 バグや翻訳が微妙な部分はあれどそれを許容しても遊びたくなるゲームでした
