I like this game, it has great potential. Few of the most noteworthy in my opinion is as follows: 1. Arrows needs to travel quicker, too easy to dodge as it feels like they fly in slowmotion. 2. Melee needs followup swings/combos and quicker respons on blocking, I found it lacking when trying to parry. 3. The weapons seems to get corrupted very fast, that should be lowered, there was a point when I had to hit "V" key to fight barehanded, though it worked, it doesn't feel right, also I do the same when destroying barrels for mana/magic drops aswell as beating on the red crystals, to open up the path forward. This only just to keep my weapons from getting corrupted too quickly. 4. The swing sound has a bit of delay that should be adressed, also the firestaff projectiles (Ithink its fire?) Sounded more like laser to me, perhaps have a look at that too. Overlall: This game looks really good and I am looking forward to more contents and even full release at some point. P.S. I hope they don't rush development, that never ends well.
Unfinished, barebones asset flip with unsatisfying and repetitive combat. It bears no real resemblance to its supposed inspirations of Hexen and Heretic. Last updated in October of 2021, long abandoned, with no hope of improvement. Anything this game even tries to do, Vermintide II does infinitely better, so just play that instead.
fun game. a bit buggy but still fun.
Excellent game, It plays like Diablo in First Person view. You start as a warrior fighting skeletons. You got short sword and a magic staff. Combat is well thought. You can block up to 4 enemy attacks and you can strike. Blocking during enemy attack does a parry. It stuns enemy for short time. The gameplay feels like a Diablo. You go through dungeons, killing skeletons, wererats, floating demonic heads. You get points and upgrade your weapons and health. Weapons also have support abilities and you unlock them too. There is no save option in the middle of a game, so you restart the level if you died. Good news is the levels are shot. Those who wanted to try Diablo in First Person should try this game. The game becomes boring when there are no more enemy types to fight. Skeletons with axes, skeletons with bows, suicide skeletons with bomb, skeletons with shields, wererats, werewolves, floating demon heads - that is all. I was playing like a short sword warrior. Then I finished the dungeon, returned to my hideout and upgraded my weapons and health for points I earned. All weapons damage can be upgraded. New weapons can be unlocked. I played more dungeons, earned more points, upgraded my starting weapons to maximum damage. Then I unlocked the best melee weapon and the best magical wand. Replayed the last dungeon a couple more times, earned more points. Upgraded the best melee weapon (long sword) and the best magical wand (frost wand) to the maximum damage and maximum mana. There are no shields in the game. That is disappointing. Upgraded magical wand does huge damage and shoots multiple projectiles at once. Alternative fire freezes and damages enemies at once. At this point it is pointless to use a sword. Magic wand wins! I noticed that there are a number of play styles. One can play a warrior (with hummer, long sword and weak wand), rogue (with short sword, crossbow and weak wand), mage (short sword, weak wand, strong wand). I ended playing like a mage, killing groups of enemies easily with Frost wand. Great game. Plays like Diablo. It definitely needs more enemies and levels. I heard the company does not work anymore on this game. I tried the demo of new game they are working on: Andkara The Horde. Unfortunately it is not a dungeon crawler like Diablo and Ravensword. It plays like a monster arena. Melee weapons are useless, it is all about large damage magical wands and weird enemies charge you from all sides. I personally like dungeon crawlers where I can use my beginning shot sword to block/parry enemy attacks and then hit enemies without losing much health. Then I get shield, crossbow and better body armor like chain mail. Multiple classes are good too (see above). Enemies should be usual evil guys from fantasy genre - skeletons, orcs, ettins, lizardmen, barbarians, dragons. Some enemies should cast fireballs and some should fight you with swords. I do not like change to this formula. Diablo and Skyrim were great. I like to play fast paced dungeon crawlers. Ravensword is a great game in action RPG genre. Perhaps, developers should finish Ravensword, add more enemies, levels and co-op/duel modes. Here is the list of my favourite First Person Slashers (FPS). They are total blast: Heterodox, Ravensword: Undaunted, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Arthurian Legends, Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Whitchaven 2: Blood Vengeance, Cult of Despair (mod for Hexen, download https://www.moddb.com/mods/wrath-of-cronos-hard-unofficial-version https://www.moddb.com/games/hexen/addons/cult-of-despair Create run.bat file to run the game [gzdoom -file woc_v3.2.8.pk3 CultofDespair.pk3 brightmaps.pk3 light.pk3 -iwad Hexen]), Hexen (get high definition texture pack HexenHDv1.0.2.rar https://www.moddb.com/mods/hexen-hd-2020/downloads/hexen-hd-v102 Create run.bat file to run the game [gzdoom -file h_PBR_v461.pk3 HEXENREMADE.wad] I used cheats to load levels... Game is pretty neat. Beat the first level and decided I had enough. Gonna hold onto it and see where the updates take this game. Do have some feedback however: Corruption mechanic - Essentially a durability system, but it's really not great or thought out well. Once your weapon is corrupted you can't use it anymore which on paper sounds fine but in reality it really means you just have to stop, choose one of the many other weapons you picked up and use that. Just let people use the weapons they want to use, Hexen and Heretic didn't have a durability system, this game doesnt need one either. Dash Cool down - There's a dash and stamina system but its really weird. You get a certain amount of dashes that you can level up and get more but there's also a cool down for each dash which is like 5 seconds or so, and it takes about 4 seconds for a dash charge to recharge so you can't dash more than once in a row and your dash recharges faster than the cool down making getting more dashes absolutely pointless. If there was a stamina bar and the ability to sprint (more on this later) it would make more sense but as it is now, leveling up stamina is 100% pointless. Movement speed - I think the base speed is fine but since you can only dash once every five seconds, I think there should at least be a sprint to go faster that also drains stamina. This will probably unbalance the game horribly which leads me into my next point. Enemy Variety - You kill a lot of skeletons and occasionally a werewolf. At least on the first level, and all the enemies have to stop to attack, or the archer skeletons arrows move VERY slow. More enemy variety would be extremely nice, specially enemies that can attack and move at the same time, because as it is right now you can just attack back up a bit to avoid an enemies attack and then swing again. Gets tedious and is extremely easy. Leveling Up - When you level up you can allocate skill points, but you can only allocate skill points in your hideout, which if you are a brainlet like me, means you'll forget that you have skill points to allocate in the first place and then go into the second level without any upgrades. Being able to do it in the field would feel so much more better since you can get a magic boost that you needed for that cool wand you just picked up. However you can only dump points into one of three stats and since one of them is pointless to upgrade (Stamina) you really just get the choice of more health or magic. But since your health already increases with each level up, magic is really the only thing that makes sense to put points into unless you are really struggling and need more health. If I had to make any big decisions on where the game should go at this point I would recommend either : 1. Ditching the rpg and loot mechanics altogether and make the game into a full on heretic/hexen clone with choosable classes, level by level progression or levels connect by a hub world, set weapon spawns and more Doom/Hexen like movement speed and combat. Or 2. Go all in on the rpg mechanics. Scrap or rework the corruption system, yoink out the 3 stat leveling system and replace it with a skill tree with actual character builds (you could even repurpose the shrine to be where you level up), rework the weapon looting system with actual modifiers beyond more damage, and make the dash and stamina system usable. Keep in mind this is all my personal opinion. I still like the game as is and recommend it. You can definetly do a lot worse for $8. It's also still in early access, so I'm sure a lot of my complaints will be addressed in the future, and I'm excited to see where it goes.
Vale cada centavo? Talvez. Pra mim valeu! Vou fazer um stream jogando ele mostrando tudo até porque só tem uma fase no momento. Se você esperar ate dezembro sai pelo menos a segunda.
don't bother, it's abandoned
TL;DR: It's very mediocre. Slow start, clunky combat, uninspired leveling system, bad AI, etc. NOT WORTH $8. Currently refunding it. The game looks pretty, but that's about it. The hitboxes feel clunky and sword range feels off. Just slightly longer than the models would imply, making for very janky melee combat. The combat sound design is so-so. Nothing special. The enemies are very generic and have basic ai. The spawnrate in room clear arenas seem designed like Ziggurat, but minus the fun. It's so tedious. You do effectively no damage once you get to the 2nd stage with your sword and staff. You rapidly run out of mana for your staff and the mana drops are rng. So you just slap the enemies with your wet noodle sword while kiting and wondering why you even bought the game. Headshotting them, btw. Doesn't matter, the damage is negligible. There's a parry mechanic but it feels like an afterthought. The spawnrate makes the parry do nothing since one or two will be knocked back and 3-5 others will all hit you at the same time. The dash also appears to serve 0 purpose in the game. You can attack while jumping, you cannot dash while in the air. If the dash has i-frames it's in milliseconds. You often will simply dash and get hit anyways. You can side step and walk around single enemies and hit them faster than they can turn. They don't really react, they just cycle through some basic combos/behavior. The scary part about fighting undead enemies is them being relentless and engaging to fight in games, or fast. These are neither. It takes you long enough to kill one skeleton that another will make it over and attack from behind. This, however, is a side effect of over-tuned hp pools aka bullet sponge enemies, not the enemy putting up a good fight. They're too dumb for that. Grinding to get incremental stat upgrades and someday reach more than 2 weapons is just incredibly boring. There's no secrets in the first level, no lore to find, no cool weapons or upgrades, just a linear slog with nonsensical nooks and crannies, as if something was supposed to be there but they never got to it. I spent a good chunk of my minimal playtime trying to climb around the first area only to find it completely empty of actual secrets or content. It just looks pretty and is a timewaster for anyone trying to start a mission. If you increase the difficulty, enemies seem to just scale up in hp pool. They don't become more aggressive, smart, or otherwise fun to fight. They just do more damage and have more health. I turned the difficulty up to Hard to see if it would make me easier to kill, as on Normal you have to actually go afk to be killed. There's no challenge. The enemies on Hard killed me because I couldn't kill them. They became bullet sponges. Blade sponges in this case. There's a game here, but it's not much of one. This title needs a lot of work before I would consider it worth even $8. The developers are in a bad spot with this one, they've said they plan to finish it, but there doesn't seem to be an ETA. Planning to finish what we have here doesn't come close to providing a competitive experience to other similar titles.
Прошёл - кайфанул.
Glorified demo. Sucks that I assumed it would be as good as shadowlands.
