All I'm gonna say about this game is IT'S GREAT! Love the setting and characters, the challenges involved in navigating the wasteland and trying to accomplish tasks. Highly recommend.
Rauniot is a bleak point-and-click puzzle adventure telling a short story about finding a companion. I was drawn in by the art style, especially the small red train engine. The pre-rendered backgrounds and Finnish dialogue add a lot to the post-apocalyptic atmosphere. Some later puzzles felt unfairly hard, and there is occasional pixel hunting. Still, it tells a sad, simple story and scratched a Stasis itch I did not know I had.
Clearly a game made by Finnish people. Made me sad, but it was fun. Sometimes I did get stuck but answer often was very anti-finnish person way, talk to people.
For a few hours and on a decent sale it was worth the time and money. The story is decent, the characters ok, and the art style is distinct enough. If you're not interested in this from the start then I'd say don't bother, but if the setting and seeing what the makers wanted to tell with this intrigue you: go for it. Nothing stellar but certainly its own thing. The puzzles are mostly easy enough to keep you engaged. Some items could be pretty hard to spot in the environments. Some minor gripes with the animations and the colors are a bit drab but I had my fun with this.
It's pretty good.
+ Graphic Desing Story = Sound Puzzles - Each time MC get in trouble is spared by NPC Ending 6/10
Hieno seikkailu, hyvä tunnelma ja visuaalinen asu. hieman lyhyt ja olisin pelannut kauemminkin.
Nice little puzzle game.
Klasyczny point and click w nietypowej odsłonie i klimacie postapo.
Post-apocalyptic gameplay in northern Finland?! What’s not to like about that setup. I liked the graphics and the atmosphere. The story was engaging and made me want to see how it all ended. The puzzles were challenging without being to hard.
