It's the classic shooter. Everyone should try it. It's good ol' fun.

I played the original Raptor many years ago—and then kept playing it for years after that. It was one of my favorite games, and it holds a very special place in my memories. So when I saw that Raptor had two versions on Steam, I thought: “Hey, why not relive some of that childhood nostalgia with a newer, supposedly improved version?” Oh, how naive I was. Enter the 2015 edition. This version somehow manages to take a game I loved and make it worse. The music—if we’re still willing to call it “music”—has been butchered. The sound effects aren’t much better either. Yes, underneath all of this, it is still Raptor. The game is still there. But apparently, someone decided that one of the best ways to “update” a classic was to make it sound considerably worse than it did in the original. Some people have complained about the clunky controls. They may have a point. Personally, though, the sound is what really kills me. The music is absolutely abysmal. Listening to it feels less like revisiting a beloved childhood game and more like discovering that your childhood memories have been remastered by someone who actively dislikes you. And what do you get for this magnificent “new” experience? Achievements. And a few minor weapon-name changes. Death Ray became Plasmaray, for whatever reason. Apparently, “Death Ray” was simply too good a name to survive the modernization process. Other than that? Mostly the same game. So, if you're thinking about buying this version: don’t. Buy the original instead. And if you’ve never played Raptor before, for the love of God, do NOT make this your first experience with it. Raptor is a legendary classic, and it deserves better than this being someone’s first impression of it. Play the original. Your ears will thank you. Your nostalgia will thank you. And, frankly, your money will thank you too.
I like how the enemy aircrafts look like daily objects (e.g.: pants).
Nostalgická klasika z mého dětství, doporučuji vypnout to ošklivé rozmazání grafiky a hrát to "pixelovatý".
Nostalgia
Dreadful port with atrocious musics (your ears WILL bleed), atrocious and opaque save mechanics, and atrocious difficulty scaling. Could have been a great game ; this is a real bummer. Don't buy !!
Love it. It's nostalgic and it's simple and fun.
