It's nice having a round of solitaire where you don't have to worry about reaching a stalemate and having to accept a loss. I play solitaire when I need a pause from work and failing the game isn't great motivation to get back to work. I'm glad there's no score or obvious timer either since I don't see any reason to be judged for my time wasting. I personally like getting to drag all the cards to the top at the end since it's very cathartic. It's a bummer when I play Google's solitaire (just google solitaire and it's a browser game) and the game just vacuums all the cards up and cuts you off. I don't really see an issue with the breakout part causing the card to change over and over or not stopping when a reusable card is found. It's part of the chaos and god forbid you have to *remember what card you want* lol. Radical Solitaire 2 could have a random selection of minigames to vary it up though, making it the Mario Party of Solitaire~ The only feature I'd personally request is 1-card draw since I'm not the biggest fan of 3-card draw.

It's actually really good. It manages to make Klondike solvable in a way that makes it feel like you're still playing Klondike, but the mechanic for getting the card you need isn't trivial and requires thought. It takes advantage of the draw-three rule to create situations where you would need to transform a card. If you play with single-draw, it's easy to win without ever getting stuck, and it's a much less interesting game. You need to know what cards you need to progress and transforming cards requires you to understand the game rules so that you can successfully get unstuck. It does a good job of using one of the core elements of gameplay: rules to make the completion of a goal unnecessarily difficult. It's obvious in many Solitaire games that they're just complicated ways to sort a deck of cards and kill time. This game doubles-down on the idea self-referentially. The funniest jokes are the ones with a kernel of truth.
6/10 A joke game mixing Klondike solitaire with Arkanoid. Good: - it's a joke on the 1980s era and how office workers killed their (paid) time at work by playing Solitaire that came for free in earlier versions of Windows. That's refreshing and fun - the color palette is unusual. While it looks like an LD pixelated game at first, there are actually neat animations here, hints and feedback which make the game enjoyable - nice robotic speech and electronic music - free So-so: - there isn't much variety, it's just Klondike and Klondike by three with some aesthetic options. You can actually run 3 different apps from the Steam launcher. The 1st is the basic game. The second just showed a black screen for me so it's probably bugged. The third is the "pocket" version which probably makes fun of mobile games? It has "tap to automate" button, but it only does one move and then it's stuck and the only thing you can do is "give up". Anyways, the 1st launch option works and that's fine. - you can move a card to a special "rad" location, and this starts the Arcanoid-like minigame. It has your card flying on the other side of the field, and each time a ball hits it it changes to a random another card. So, if you get stuck and have no moves in Klondike, you can play this minigame to get another card you'd have a valid move with. It's a nice touch, at least at first glance, but actually gets boring. Also, lack of predictability in this Arcanoid minigame means you'd probably have to play it a few times to get a usable card - there are probably too many screen shakes which get annoying after a while. Maybe they should only happen when you put a card into a foundation Bad: - the big pixels actually make it hard to see how many cards are still left in a stack. You have to get used to it - the huge pixelated suit signs are hard to tell from each other. Also, you can't see the suit of a card that's under another card because only the rank is visible Overall, it's a fun little game that looks like it came from a game jam. It's definitely worth a look if you're over 40 and remember the old days of Windows and how secretaries everywhere were playing it before there was match-3 or Zuma or Farmville or other atrocious crap. Still, the fun is short-lived, as, being just a not-very-comfortable Klondike solitaire game with a few options it simply doesn't have much to offer over the long run. Still, it's an upvote, and kudos to the devs.

[th]I'm a Steam curator, you can follow me[/th]
