It's buggy sometimes but the game itself is pretty fun. Beautiful scenery for such a janky game.

This is one of the best survival games you will ever play. When I was in high school (2012) I found this game on the apple store and it was so fun I put in the time and beat the entire game. 10+ years later, you wouldnt believe my excitement when I found it had been ported to the steam store. It was an insta buy for me. Radation Island is a traditional survival game, but it is so simple that it makes the game really fun. Theres really no hard grinding, all the items are fairly easy to get, there are no overpowered enemies, and the crafting system is really simple and easy, and the world is so massive you can spend hours to complete the main objective of the game. First: the world. Its absolutely huge, and made up of 4 islands (3 large and one small) in the shape of a radiation symbol. It has beaches, tall mountains, lakes, rivers, and jungles. There are buildings spread out everywhere, from small fishing villages to military complexes. The game features all sorts of weather effects and honestly, they are quite beautiful. The graphics are comparable to something a bit better than original xbox or ps2 games. The game is really forgiving, theres no grinding for stuff, and if you die, you will keep your inventory and occasionally lose what you had equipped. Endgame guns are easy to come by, and gathering items is really easy. Enemies arent very difficult either, they can all be killed in 2 - 3 shots of any medium to high tier ranged weapon. The game has basic status effects which can kill you, such as hunger, viral infections, and cold, but they are all really easy to curb if you are prepared. If you die, you will respawn at your bed with all your stuff. You can place beds in any building throughout the map, and the map is full of them. The game has its own story - its basically the Philadelphia Exoeriment, except the Japanese attempted it on a huge island chain and everything went wrong and everyone has turned into zombies. The game has you follow an objective of turning off massive tesla towers on each island. There are about 5 on each island, and as I said earlier, each island is massive. You have to do a fair bit of walking to get to each one, and its not always a straight walk. There is also teleport points spread throughout the map, and once you discover them you can travel between them with no penalty at all. The crafting system is really simple, there are basic tiers of items, and some are uncraftable but easy to find. The game will never force you to grind or punish you in order to get items. You dont even have to make use of every feature the game has to beat it, which lets players go as deep or shallow into the games mechanics as they want. You can even build structures, but you are perfectly capable of surviving using the pre placed structures. I have to say, playing this game even after 10 years, I still feel the same excitement as I did back in highschool. Its very relaxing compared to other survival games, while still retaining a fair bit of challenge, as well as all the other gameplay mechanics youd expect from a traditional survival game. If you really enjoy survival games, dont miss out on this one. Its cheap, fun, and will give you hours of enjoyment.

I believe I got this game for dollar or two. This is a bare bones simple first person survival game. However I somehow found myself liking this more than I thought I would. Several others of my family tried it out and had fun with it. Dont expect alot just enjoy it for what it is.
