Victory Conditions
Victory is achieved by either destroying all enemy bases and units or accumulating more points than your opponent by the end of the time limit. You earn points for every enemy unit destroyed, rewarding tactical gameplay and daring maneuvers.
Bluffing lies at the heart of the strategic experience. RUSE are special cards you can activate at any moment to influence enemy perception, reinforce your troops, or gain crucial intelligence. They provide unprecedented gameplay depth, transforming every engagement into a duel of wits and bluff.
RUSE cards are divided into four major categories:
Reveal Information (decryption, espionage)
Conceal Information (radio silence, camouflage)
Create Decoys (dummy units, false offensives)
Alter Unit Behavior (blitz, terror)
By combining these cards, you'll orchestrate complex strategies and turn the tide of battle.
In R.U.S.E, each faction embodies a great power of World War II, bringing its own units, specificities, and playstyles. Choosing a faction means adopting a different strategic approach, tailored to your preferences and personality as a strategist.
United States: Versatility and industrial might.
Germany: Quality and firepower.
France: Resilience and defense.
United Kingdom: Air power and artillery.
USSR: Quantity and durability.
Italy: Speed and mobility.

R.U.S.E.: An intense strategic experience where RUSE and adaptation make the difference.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.14/day in the week to Jul 22 → 4.88/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Love this game, its really fun. but Eugen are milking you. Buy this on G2A or something
One of the Kind

RUSE is the only strategy game in existence. It's kinda sad then I put it like that, but that might not be as big of an exaggeration as you might think. Most strategy games favor execution over strategy or tactics to a massive degree, this is the only game where opposite is the case.

Unique Gem
There is nothing like this anywhere else. While superficially it looks as a normal strategy game where you have to build units, fight and player who clicks the most wins. It's nothing like that. The amount of your clicks in this game magically does not make you a better strategist. You have to actually perform a strategy which is better than your opponent's in a...STRATEGY GAME? NO WAY! That is like first time I see that. Real time strategy is all about most efficient clicking. Turn based strategies are all about executing builds. The only strategy there is to theory craft the most broken combination which in itself is a very distant cousin of what strategy game is. https://youtu.be/5ohNzHWL7FI?si=3cU2JVWgHYzKgXhF Trailer for this game is absolutely on point and absolutely represents me. It's literally me while playing such games. I appear nervous, I let my opponent to think he is in control while I'm slowly putting him into the trap. I did that in Magic the Gathering, forcing so many rage quits from people (pure blue decks for people who get it). I did it in Battlefield Gothic 2. I certainly 5D chessed my way out in this game so many times!
My Experiences

My First Multiplayer Game
The greatness of this game can be properly captured in a first multiplayer match which I had played. We were playing 3 vs 3 game. Both sides fought, captured ground and eventually dug in. Neither side wanted to push and attack, because it's a lot harder and victory points are calculated on how many units you managed to destroy. So, like in all RTS games, game degenerates into artillery spam. My side was losing artillery duel and as they did, these losers rage quitted the moment things didn't went their way. I inherited their resources and income. I continued to invest into artillery and then second player left. I was left in 1 vs 3 match. It hardly seems fair for my opponents as our incomes were roughly comparable. Maybe they had 60:40 income split to their advantage. And being 3 people versus one. Hardly fair odds for them as they were facing me. So, I continued to duel them with artillery and then second player left. At that point, I realised just how procarious my situation is. I'm fighting a war where I'm increasingly getting outgunned. I decided to slowly accumulate tanks. Light tanks specifically due to their speed. I slowly build up forces, hided them in forest area. I was accumulating them for a good dozen minutes. Spent most of my available resources on them. All the while, I was paying for artillery reinforcements. I kept buying them in order to sell a story to my opponents that I'm still fighting an artillery war and they are winning. Ah those poor naive fools. So simple of mind, they bought that story so eagerly. They invested heavily into artillery. And to celebrate their victory over me. At the point where they had invested the most, achieved the greatest advantage over me. Suppressed my batteries and destroyed what they could. I congratulated them by opening a new front in a middle of a map. I suddenly revealed my tank, dozens upon dozens of light tanks blitzkrieging through an open field. Artillery couldn't effectively suppress them due to their speed and number, hence why I chose light tanks. I caught their artillery pieces exposed in the open. Destroyed their pride and joy, took remaining supply points which were fueling our reinforcements. That counter punch took out majority of their forces. All of their greedy investment into biggest, most expensive artillery pieces, all undone by simple, humble light tanks. One after another they left as they realized that they are no match for such a commander as me. My Last Multiplayer Game
My last game was 7 Free for All. Such games often are bad due to mutually assured destruction. They heavily incentivise turtling up and never attacking. So, this is what everyone did. However, generawl such as myself couldn't be content with mediocrity. I needed glory! Conquest! My name would echo through the ages as generations yet unborn would come to know of my exploits and venerate them! So, I started slow and procedural advancement on my opponent controlled town, seeking to capture it and control bridge behind it. I was slowly escalating fight, but I knew that these goblins are just waiting to backstab others in a back, thinking themselves clever. So, I made a gamble. There was one direct road through our bases and open fields going around middle of a map. Since I knew that they lacked strength of character to do the right thing, I prepared significant infantry force hiding in the forest. Elite and numerious, they waited for a long time and as our fight was escalating and others took notice of it. This third opponent tried to zerg rush his entire army which he was building all this time to my base. It evaporated within minute. All what he had was destroyed, gone in a smoke. So, with ease I had beated two opponents, twice my resources. Eventually I was the only one left with another opponent far away. I think, I lost on point value as we were fighting to our last units. I made a mistake of buying prototype, super expensive units. If I would had bought cheap artillery and reconnaissance, I would just won. It wasn't a challenge to beat him to be honest as he wasn't match to me. He just trembled, built fortifications and won simply, because game wasn't designed around so many players. So, he managed to get a lot of points from his neighbourgs and just waited out, shivering and hiding from me in his bunkers, buyer seconds unti timer ran out. Up to this day my rage remains unsatiated!

What is in the package?
Game up to this day is solid. It plays well. Has a good campaign. Plays on stereotypes of incompetent allied high command and master genius Wehrmacht commander. It was amazing for its time, maybe now it's little bit lacking. Though, new strategy games degraded since in story telling and there isn't anything better. Skirmish is fine. AI does it job to prepare you for multiplayer. However, multiplayer is the real deal. It had some life back when it relaunched, but I doubt that it will have always present online community after launch. There will be someone you could find to play or on agreed time. This game however really needs a remaster or a sequel. It's type of game which Steel Division had to be, but it decided to go RTS route which is bad and not very popular with Wargammers. This is also a niche game, but at least it has a passionate community rather than making games which nobody really appreciates. Modern studios and their weird obsessions to hyper focus on their unsuccessful IPs as their pet projects...
Special Game

It's one of those games which I didn't played a lot, but one which had left deep impression in me. It's great for what it's and I want more. Game with bigger production values, longer support and same, but better everything. I'm very glad that this game is once again on Steam and maybe my friend, who invested into physical copy of Ruse back in 2011 will come and play a multiplayer match with me. A man can dream....a man can dream.

Calicifer's Reviews
If you are interested reading full review or want to discuss something with me, please follow the provided link. lepsze od broken arrow
I wish they would make more games like this one. The games they ended up making after this one they dropped the best mechanics from this and kept some of the fun but this one is by far the best.
