Quar: Battle for Gate 18 is a turn-based strategic VR game set in the grimsical world of Alwyd. The Quar are cute alien ant-eaters. Don't mistake cute for gentle. They use their WW1 level technology to wage war across the face of their world.

As a fan of Zombiesmith and the Quar I HAD to get this when I finally got my Rift S. I was not disappointed. It was like playing with animated 54mm Quar on a game table with nice terrain...although I could not collide with said table. Made it a lot handier to move troops that way :) Captures the feel of the figs and game. I spent waaay too much time in camp watching the Quar go about their routines, drinking tea, patrolling, and doing PT. Development has stopped but it is still a solid game...especially if you are fond of subject matter.
Muy bueno y sorprendente, normalmente los juegos de estrategia no me gustan, sin embargo el poder estar en medio del campo de batalla cambia tanto la perspectiva que ha conseguido engancharme. Recomendado al 100%.
I was quite suprised with this game. Like many of you I put off picking it up on steam. Partly because it didn't have a lot of reviews. However, I am very glad I did decide to go ahead and buy it while it was on sale. It really does take me back to playing war with my action figures of old. I have always been a fan of turn based strategy games, and this one does it quite well. There is an actual story here too, although I haven't been playing it long, I can honestly say I am happy with my purchase and I hear this game is around 10 hours long. If you are a fan of turned based strategy do yourself a favor and buy it soon. This game really does need more reviews so the word gets out about this little gem.
Truly Awesome! I just wished they would come out with a sequel or paid DLC's so we could continue. Perhaps create an endless mode with increasing difficulty until we lose. I enjoyed every hour in this game and will replay.
The way that it is turn based has you make hard decisions on how to pick, place and move your troops. A level begins with you placing down the troops which you pick. Then it lets you use one of them, then the opponent gets to use a troop. This goes on until all troops are used once. Then you can use the other troops again. You have a base in which you can upgrade buildings to for example have ''Rhyfhlemen'' get more accuracy. Though its sad that there is no form of skirmish mode.
My "first impression" video here: https://youtu.be/4yhBf-KEZb4 This developer doesn't disappoint. I really enjoyed Bounce, and I'm glad I got this too. Strange name, but fun game. The graphics are delightful, the strategy is fun and not overly complicated. Definitely recommended.
Good game. It's a slow paced hex strategy. Not very hard but very enjoyable.
Entertaining and overlooked Vive game. Turn-based strategy-- not a lot of those in VR right now. I've been enjoying it.
July 24th Update. Yeah the game is dead :( This is a great game but the last update was in 2016.... I guess that there will be no more development of this game? If so that sucks as its a brilliant game. There needs to be more RTS/Turn based games in VR.
Real time strategy game in VR from 2016, seems not outdated and runs perfectly in 2023. I liked the welcoming area, a military base where all the cute soldiers prepare for the battle and rest. It was funny to teleport towards each groups's side real size and watch their activities. But, I found its turn based style boring. I wish the gameplay should have been like 'Final Assault VR'.
