👑 Weitere Spielbewertungen 👑
Warning: Asset Flip! Puzzle Scenery is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of stock images from various stock image websites, dumped them into a basic Unity jigsaw puzzle template, then slapped his own name on it. He's trying to get paid for stealing stock images off the internet. It has no value or merit as a real game. An example of the stolen stock images is Nature Reflection by "Abandoned", via the site AlphaCoders. The "developer" of this asset flip just did a horizontal flip of the image to try hide the fact he stole it from someone else. Also note the license from AlphaCoders only permits personal use... so the developer of this asset flip is deliberately breaching copyright and intellectual property law for profit. This is absolutely not okay. The poor quality of this asset flip is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 100,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not! Puzzle Scenery is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Puzzle Scenery is a puzzle game designed to offer a relaxing and immersive experience for players of all ages. The core focus is on assembling stunning landscapes, whether in 2D or 3D, creating detailed and visually striking scenes. With an emphasis on relaxation and casual fun, the game positions itself as an excellent choice for those seeking a peaceful and lightly challenging mental activity. The game features intuitive gameplay, with a clean interface that makes interaction easy, even for inexperienced players. The soundtrack enhances the experience, adding a layer of serenity to the puzzle-solving process. The wide variety of themes in the game, such as natural landscapes, urban settings, and fantastical environments, ensures there’s something to appeal to every taste. Additionally, the ability to select difficulty levels—varying the number and complexity of pieces—makes the game accessible to both beginners and puzzle enthusiasts. One of Puzzle Scenery's standout features is its aesthetic. Each completed scene is a true work of art, with attention to visual detail that delights and rewards players upon finishing the puzzle. If customization is available—such as the ability to upload personal images to turn into puzzles—this becomes an even greater draw, adding a unique touch to the experience. On Steam, the game can be marketed as a "zen" experience, similar to other titles that prioritize relaxation, like Dorfromantik or Unpacking. The trailer should showcase the progressive assembly of scenes, revealing the completed visuals in an animated and captivating way, while screenshots can highlight the variety of available themes and the user-friendly interface. Features like achievements, leaderboards, or even a smart assist mode could further engage players. With a simple, visually pleasing, and relaxing approach, Puzzle Scenery has the potential to appeal to both casual gamers and those seeking a peaceful and enjoyable experience. 100/10 GOTY
