14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.43/day in the week to Aug 26 → 6.43/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I’ve been wanting to play this for a long while. I even replayed the first game both to see how it improves and worsens from its predecessor, and as an excuse to play the whole game again since it’s been years. In short, this game is a high recommendation, but is it worth a 10 or is it a humble 9? Let’s find out. Story: Won’t be going too deep into the main plot cause it’s an emotional mystery with twists, drama and feelings that keeps you guessing on what's happening and I don’t want to spoil it. I will say that while I would love more stories, I’ll be fine if the story ends here As for things I can talk about, I enjoy the new characters that are introduced for what little screen-time they get, like the acting Psychonaut leader, Hollie, the 6 founders who the main plot revolves around, and Raz’s family show up after a while. However, I’m not the biggest fan of the interns. Except for Sam, I like her. And Adam is okay. I could go an a decent sized rant on why they don’t work compared to the campers but to keep this review short,as linear as the first half of the first game was, the campers were doing things between levels and were important for the evil plan, while the interns just drop out of the story after the opening act with no real impact on the plot, which sucks cause I want more of Sam. And while I could point this out in gameplay or presentation, the enemies that are present can tell a lot about character. Sure, they got rid of the more unique enemies like the navy or snail cannons, and those cat bomb things have been cut. But the presence of new foes like Regrets or Doubts say that they feel guilty about what they are doing and don’t know if it’ll work. But I’ll leave that discussion to the game analyst. I also saw a comment saying Raz lost his edge in this game, and I can see that and can understand how it happened. Aside from one of the first levels teaching Raz an important lesson on messing inside someone’s head is bad, and not biting back to the bully character like he does with Bobby, it has been at least twenty years since the previous game. Even less if you take the VR game into account, but during that time the writers either matured or their sense of humour or writing changed. Gameplay: First off, the opening level does an amazing job in teaching you how to use your psychic powers for level progression and combat, like using your fire powers to burn pictures to find entrances and to take on Doubts who are vulnerable to fire. At the start you have Psi Blast, pyro and telekinesis and your levitation from the first game along with clairvoyance later which can now find a few hidden goodies, and later you get new psi powers like mental connections which are a grappling tool, time bombs to slow enemies and hazards, and your own GIR that can open doors you can’t and provide health and dummy for enemies to hit. There is a bit more mandatory combat here compared to the previous game not only with enemy introduction but key points in levels. But at times, it feels like the combat can overshadow the platforming, which is not true because there are plenty of platforming in this game like the Ford levels or Bob’s bottles. Maybe cause early on, I tend to barely have a scrap of health after a battle and lost a couple of times. Maybe the issue is that there is no hard final platforming challenge by the end like one of the final bosses in Meat Circus, which was a highlight. In fact, gameplay wise, that final level does feel a bit weak because of that. As for other things of note, you don’t need to worry about your rank for game completion anymore, it’s purely to upgrade your powers. They cut the inventory so cobwebs are out. Levels have their own challenge markers called Nuggets of Wisdom. Your max health increase by finding brains in levels so you can actually increase it earlier instead of waiting for the second half of the game. You got a camera for screen shots, and in post game, able to find any missed collectable with it. But one thing I don’t like is the nerf the levitation power had gotten. Not only can I not bounce around with it anymore to reach high platforms but the glide only lasts 2 seconds. Talk about making one of the best powers in the last game completely unusable. And no, the upgrades and new pins don’t help. Presentation: This game looks amazing and if you tell it’s not, you’re wrong. I admit it took a while for me to get used to the updated character models(Milia creeped me out for a little while and I don’t know why.) but at least since we’re mainly around adults the characters don’t look like fish people. Now while the outside area looks good even if it’s another forest area, the different minds look amazing, except for Compton’s cooking show. Like from the beginning when you in the office level twists and deforms into a tooth filled nightmare or that library level which near the end takes you to a harbor made of books with an ocean of ink. Or how that hospital gets corrupted into a casino. I could go on but its better seen than told. No real comment on the voice acting apart from aces across the board. Even those no name NPCs hanging HQ are well done. Music however, unless it was from the last game, I didn’t pay much attention to it. Sure it was pleasant to listen to but it didn’t really stick in my head. Even that 60s rock festival level. Maybe if I listen to the OST more my opinion would change but for now its mainly well done ambience. Okay there was one exception but it’s the last level and I want it to be a surprise Verdict While I’m disappointed in a few places, I had a blast with this game and would want to replay it soon. 9/10

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

The mere existance of Psychonauts 2 is miracle and an absolute delight. In terms of creativity and level design, it's just as good if not better than the prequel. AND IT HAS SO MANY TINY AND UNIQUE DETAILS- only when the devs truly love their project, a creation of such high quality is produced. This is also one of the best looking games I've ever played and I'm constantly amazed how good it looks while running like dream on my low end system. All the animations and cutscenes are so beautiful and expressive. It's about the same length as the first game, except this time around there is an extremely high level of polish. My only critique of the game is the combat- it's much better than P1 but it's still kinda basic and even if there's a lot more upgrades and customisation, I was still never looking forward to any combat section (moreso bcz everything else was so good, and combat felt like an interruption)- however the boss battles are pretty good as they employ puzzles and gimmicks which are very fun. Overall, I absolutely recommend Psychonauts 2- I am biased towards the first game due to nostalgia even if I reallise it has some issues but this here is a much more polished sequel that is fantastic in almost every single way. ABSOLUTE CINEMA 10/10
10/10 game! the story is fantastic, the characters are great and I can not wait for a third game.
Really interesting, it kept the weirdness of the first game but added a layer of freshness.
Psychonauts 2

Time Played:
28 Hours
Last Played:
6th of August, 2025

The original Psychonauts, if you've not read, is one of my favourite games, and definitely one I'd label with “timeless classic”. Thus, when the sequel was announced, I was absolutely-ecstatic, even if it took me a few years to get it. Unfortunately, this exists in a bit of a weird spot for me.
Yay:
+ More Psychonauts. + The fact we got a sequel at all is no small miracle. + This is a straight continuation of the story from “in the Rhombus of Ruin” + I felt the story was the game's strongest element, but to comment more would be spoiler territory, even if the hyper-analytical sorts can pick up on some massive foreshadowing very early into the game. + That element is only half of the equation, though. + An even larger world to explore is present. + I loved the Questionable Area. + This has a much higher count of mental worlds compared to the first one. + The ones of those that were unique were highly-enjoyed by me. + Many of the collectibles from the first game return. + Way more by way of characters than the first, some of which have some rather surprising relations to ones from 1. + These all felt like real people to me. + More of the world is affected by the plot than what occurred in 1. + New, and returning abilities. + Some very self-referential humour. + The scavenger hunt returns! + I enjoyed the blorby bacteria people in one of the worlds. + Finishing the game causes an animation to change, even if the effects stay the same. + Double Fine understands you should make an interesting pair of characters that happen to be a same-sex couple, not a pair who has that as their only character trait. + Possible sequel tease.
Meh:
~ Some of the abilities were thought to be more along the line of “gimmick” than anything that alters the world. ~ They changed how ability upgrading worked, and I favoured 1's system more.
Nay:
- In the Rhombus of Ruin is needed to at least be seen in order to get some of the story elements. - The platforming was strangely notably-more-fiddly than the first game, me glitching through something once. - Combat was deepened, to a fault...one enemy in-particular was a complete sigh every time it appeared, and it, on the whole, felt very stiff. - Some enemies also have health bars I felt to be way-too-large. - Many of the mental worlds suffer from what I call “R-Type Final 2 Syndrome”, seemingly being designed on the sentiment of “Let's do that thing from the first game again, but less-favourably!”. Yes, they may have different themes, but they're basically the same visually. - Two of the bosses are basically the same design philosophy, and when only a few are present in the entire game, this stands out way more than it would otherwise. - One of the worlds that I felt was wholly-unique, and a frustrating example of what the rest of them should have done (evolve, don't revisit) had one of the biggest slogs of a boss in any game I've ever played, being at-once very nebulous as to what you were supposed to do, and needlessly-protracted in-length. - This isn't the only unclear direction boss, either. - Mental Cobwebs were removed... - ...alongside the baggage fanfare. - This is to type I fel this one to have way less by way of personality, and charm.

Verdict:
As typed in the intro, this exists in an odd space to me. I love that we got more Psychonauts, but could not help but think of, and yearn for, an evolution of the first game, rather than the side-grade I thought this to be. Am I pleased the story I started in the early '00s got to a conclusion? Absolutely. Would I recommend this to those that utterly adored the first game? Not really. This being typed, on its own, I would not consider this to be disfavoured to the point I wouldn't wholly avoid recommending it, especially when my doing so would deter others from showing interest in a third non-VR game. Thus, while its merits may have been mixed for me, I'd still cautiously recommend it if you're able to not constantly think of the first game while playing it.
Placed in:
3: Merit-Mixed.
good game , hope there gonna be a 4 game
I might have discovered Psychonaut 2 the other way around. First I discovered PsychOdyssey then I discoverd Psychonaut 1 and now this one... Honestly, I was really scared after playing the first one. The gameplay was really rough on some points. Platform and Puzzle were not blending properly and it was relaly hard to figure which part was being part of which one. Plateform were interrupt by puzzle which break momentum and puzzle were blending into the background making unreadable. I was scared that psychonaut 2 would be the same. But honestly, if some part had a rough shape, Psychonaut 2 is playing in a whole different categorie while keeping it's core identity. I hope there would have been more sliding part in the brains level, and I wish I would have seen more sacha and milla but at the end it was really nice. The best part for me was the sens level. Clearly the best level of all of them. Just this level alone is enough to pay for the whole game. Some puzzle are still unintuitive but with youtube I just went fine. I wish double fine will never lose this kind of fresh Identity and create new IP even if it's middle of chaos instead of some generics overused IP like we used too (also I guess if a psychonaut 3 were being out, I would not mind....xD) Hoe you the best Tim and Doublefine Team.
