Project Zomboid is the ultimate in zombie survival. Alone or in MP: you loot, build, craft, fight, farm and fish in a struggle to survive. A hardcore RPG skillset, a vast map, massively customisable sandbox and a cute tutorial raccoon await the unwary. So how will you die? All it takes is a bite..

Reviews
Would I recommend this game? Yes, but with a caveat; likely a pretty obvious one that I'll get into. The game is well made and has a ton of features, lore and customizability. Multiplayer is pretty smooth and makes the experience a lot more fun when playing with friends. The game can be as challenging as you like through a combination of game settings and character creation choices. The devs have been working to improve the game year after year which is a sign they truly care about the game and its' player base. Overall it's an excellent sandbox game in a post-zombie-apocalypse setting. Thus we come to the caveat; it's a sandbox game. You either like sandbox games or you don't. I am not a huge fan of being in charge of coming up with some sort of goal to achieve. Having death be the only true end to the game is not a fulfilling end in my opinion. After a while surviving is easy, even on the hardest difficulty, at which point all of my motivation to play drains away and I get myself killed on purpose. If this game had some sort of clear way to "win" I think my mind would be changed. Perhaps some way to create a vaccine to prevent further infections coupled with the creation of a fortress city? Still, I give the game an 8/10.
