Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Aug 26 → 4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly, Project Motor Racing is a complete disappointment. They market it to you as a “simulation,” but in practice, it's pure arcade, with no serious realism whatsoever. Coming from iRacing, the contrast is stark: Here, there are no credible physics and no authentic driving sensations. -10 point Everything feels artificial and over the top. On top of that, the system requirements are ridiculous. It seems like you need a NASA-grade PC to run it decently, and even then, the performance leaves a lot to be desired. It runs slowly, with FPS drops and terrible optimization that completely ruins the experience. The driving is completely off. The cars don't respond as they should, the grip is inconsistent, and there's not that real connection to the track that you get in true simulators. This isn't a simulation; it's an arcade game in disguise. In short, if you're coming from something serious like iRacing, this game is going to feel like a huge step backwards. A total letdown.

Driving is fun. Although, Rolling Start is missing. GTs dont do grid starts! I also don't feel the weight of the car in the FFB. Headlights not getting reflected by some track objects. Graphics in general looking outdated. Crashes are bugged, too. Cars sometimes disappear through the track surface. Good base, but still far away from being a solid sim. Fanatec ITM also bugged. No gears and Lap times are flickering. Way too go...
Review v2.0.0.8 - PMR has huge potential, for now I can't recommend it. GFX framerates are meh. Despite their work to recalibrate brightness, it's overly saturated too. It's a bit like a very very old 8bit graphics game. I see why people say the grass is too long too, and because the colours are off - it's too green/bright. It's not realistic. In replays, it's the first thing you see. I'd love replays to be like GT or iRacing. Put some camera motion in, make it so that sometimes the operator is falling being the action/car. It's too static. It's not just colour saturation in PMR, it's like the image gamma is too high. I edit lots of photo's. The light levels are wrong in PMR. There's too much info/light in the mid & high spectrum. Not enough black. If we were to view a test card in the game, it'd look awful. It breaks immersion. It looks wrong regardless of time/weather/season. Credit where it's due, the seasons could look special. There's no deep shadows/colours. The black Lister Storm is a mid-grey to light grey. White cars over exposed. Tyre rubber can't look real, you can see it via YT videos. It doesn't look black enough, the wheels are the same. FPS performance is rough. Some settings are awful. The GFX/Giants engine needs lots of work. This COULD BE a very polished sim in a year or two(?). It needs about 30-40% overall higher framerates at minimum. Car models are good, ruined by the lighting. It's a bit like comparing the car body to the shell of a Tamiya RC car. When you shine light on it, the lacquer on the race cars look 6 inches deep. It's all you see, the lacquer reflects any light. It's like the invisible gfx engine light sources, that illuminate the scene/cars, are too close to the cars. Or too intense, as I say - it's not balanced. When you're pushing a car on track, there are times that it's hard to see the corner kerbs, due to the inaccurate lighting/shading. It's just odd, I've never seen this issue ever. Headlights aren't accurate too. Lots of GFX stutters that people mention, PMR is far from finished. The replay lacks a lap marker, which in 2026 is poor. Good luck thinking you'll skip to watch your fastest 5th lap. The replay bar, is just one line with no markings. Pad control is fine/can be tweaked. Physics are ok, but it's not totally a deep sim. It'd be nice if the tyres didn't recover grip so fast - but that would make it harder for anyone with less experience. I think they should make the tyres more realistic, then add a grip assist for casual newer racers. In the replays, the bottom of the tyre cuts through the top of the tarmac. It's just like everything was so rushed? So many bits missed/wrong. Other GFX issues inc flashing effects like spray from the car when on a wet track. The shadows in trees seem to move as well, odd. PMR never looks sharp, it's right what people say. It's like the image has a clear bit of faded vinyl over the top. I can't imagine how bad it looked at launch, it was far worse then. I hope they fix it. I'll update my review after each major patch. I've not run a full AI race, so can't comment on how bad FPS would dip. I tested 2 AI cars in a practise session on a wet track, those results weren't smooth! If you have a £2,500 RTX 5090, you don't need to worry as much. Those thinking that PCars 1 & 2 had bugs/issues that never got fixed - I hear ya. We won't know PMR's worth until these obvious issues are sorted. If they are. We just can't say. Hence, for now things are so messy I can't recommend PMR. I'll end on the following... In future, if PMR got many great cars like those in GT Legends - Lotus Cortina, Escort MK1, 60's racing Jaguar, some Aston Martin DB classics etc - this could be brilliant long term. If PMR got fixes to run well/look better, Goodwood with classic cars would be awesome. DLC pricing is good value. I got the GT Icons pack. Lots of new/old cars would make great car packs. Rare stuff seldom featured in games. If they poured lots more love on all the broken parts, and PMR got sorted - I could see myself spending £100's on DLC. It's all down to "IF". Today - PMR can't beat Raceroom or even AC. It doesn't run smooth or look decent enough. Cross-play is pointless if it runs like poop and looks as meh as it does. It just doesn't look sharp enough too. Aris is onboard to help sort car handling. It's "just" the Giants game engine and issues that need fixes. For now, it's a 3.5/10 title. Could be a future classic, but fundamentally flawed today. Hopefully I'll have better news in future updates...
Been following this game since release but never got to play it. I wanted to buy the game on release but the negative reviews were holding me back on buying it. Now version 2.0 is live and there is a free to play weekend, I've finally been able to play this game. The first thing I noticed when starting PMR is that the force feedback feels really flat. I don't really feel bumps on the circuit or what the car is doing. Some curbstones give feedback, some don't. Perhaps the force feedback needs some tweaking in the settings to make things feel better but I normally don't really bother too much with endless settings before playing. The graphics aren't too bad but certainly not the industry standard. What is annoying are some graphic glitches. For instance the shift lights on the steering wheel on certain cars have a massive glare on them which basically blocks around 15% of your view. It is well annoying. Also some white lines around the curbstones (for exemple Spa) seems like mirrors. They also have that annoying glare to them. I've driven in the rain and while it should be complete overcast in the sky, you still get some reflections of shadows from the trees projected in your front window. What is awesome though is the return of seasons. Like Project Cars, you can drive in Autumn and the trees turn orange. This gives a nice atmosphere. The AI is a bit on rails. When you brake too early, they just bump in to your rear instead of braking early or go for the overtake. They also don't really give you any space like they are not aware of where you are. Then the biggest turn down for me is the handling: all cars basically feel kinda the same and you can overdrive them massively. There is no challenge in driving a car without ABS and traction control. Giving full trottle on exit with a high powered car, doesn't get you sended into a barrier. An old vintage Le Mans racecar doens't feel dangerous to drive and doesn't give the feeling it wants to kill you. Driving in the rain isn't that challenging either with too much grip. There is a nice variety of cars. From old racecars to GT3 and everything in between and the game runs well on my PC. For now I'm not going to purchase the game. I will keep following this game for futher updates but right now this isn't the game for me.
Racing game getting regular updates to make it better... slow but steady, it will get where it should be.
overhyped, underdelivered
My previous experience with Project Motor Racing was with version 1.7. After spending a full day with the current version, I can confidently say the game has improved. The force feedback is noticeably better than I expected, and the Mazda MX-5 Cup was surprisingly enjoyable. For the first time I felt like I could trust the car enough to race it instead of fighting it every lap. Unfortunately, the rest of the package still feels unfinished. The AI is wildly inconsistent. At the same difficulty setting I experienced everything from dominating races by 15-20 seconds to qualifying last while being only a few tenths off pole position. Some tracks seem completely out of scale compared to others, making it difficult to find a believable difficulty setting. The career mode is the biggest disappointment. At first it looks deep: create a team, choose sponsors, manage a budget, buy cars and progress through multiple seasons. In reality, it quickly turns into a sandbox where you farm money, buy another car and unlock more championships. There is very little sense of progression or achievement. Winning championships mostly rewards you with badges and increasingly large amounts of money, while the economy itself feels disconnected from reality. Entry fees are tiny compared to prize money, making financial decisions largely meaningless and removing any real sense of a motorsport ladder. The game does feature some genuinely interesting content, particularly the historic GT categories. However, the roster feels incomplete. For a project that originally started life as GTR Revival, the absence of the Ferrari 550 Maranello, Ferrari 575 GTC and Ferrari F430 GT feels particularly strange. More importantly, Project Motor Racing relies heavily on its career mode to give this content purpose, and the current career structure fails to provide a compelling or believable motorsport journey. Unlike other simulators, where individual race weekends naturally create their own stories and memorable moments, many of PMR’s championships end up feeling like isolated events rather than meaningful steps in a racing career. There are also numerous design issues and rough edges: * No TrackIR support * Incomplete SimHub integration * Weak UI and poor communication of important information * Weather conditions are hidden until the event is loaded * Questionable restart behavior * Very short championships in some categories * Aggressive LOD issues, especially in mirrors * Visual presentation that looks surprisingly dated for a modern racing title The driving experience also varies significantly between categories. While the MX-5 Cup was surprisingly enjoyable, the Mustang GT4 felt oddly disconnected, with a spring-like steering feel and very little sense of front-end load or weight transfer. Ironically, the category that impressed me the most was the Mazda MX-5 Cup, while the historic GT content that originally attracted me to the project remains incomplete. Good ideas, disappointing execution.
