I have to give it a negative mainly due to the awful hud!! I have just got it today 28th June 2026. I have played many hours on PC1 and 2. Changeable huds etc. Now on a handheld the hud is so dark the text so small. Worse of all the leaderboard shows too many people so it fills the whole left side of the screen. We need more options - leaderboard 5 cars. Human car as the middle 3rd place car with distance between the cars in seconds and then when any of them finish a lap it changes to their lap time. More options on the colour of the widgets, more changeable widgets for the same thing. It's so bland and eye straining. Even when docked to a 65inch tv in 2k it's still not great. The good bits: I been holding off for a while for the major updates to come. The car handling on controller is good, the ai is sometimes inconsistent in qualifying but in the races so far then been as expected. Minor stuff: The games optimised enough but it needs more work on optimisation. Accessibility needs adding, scaling ingame text for smaller screens ie handhelds need adding.
I delayed initially on purchasing Project Motor Racing because of "why"... the initial reviews of course! I can't comment on the state of gameplay at that time BUT i kept eying it and decided i had to know for myself. At this time I only have a little over 2 hours time put into THIS racer and that's all I need to know it does NOT disappoint me in any way! I absolutely recommend getting it. I happen to have read that there was a way to get it working in VR so I took a chance. I am NOT tech savvy but decided to give it a try, I followed the "what and how to" for getting it running in VR and in my case, got lucky and IT WORKS... GOOD TOO!!! At least that's what I think. I say, if you're on the fence...don't be, GET IT, especially now at 50% off. I'm not exactly trying to sell it, I just can't see how you'd be disappointed, and yeah... definitely try running it in VR if you can. Apparently native VR will eventually come but it's possible right now....just saying.
Project Motor Racing has potential, but major issues hold it back. The AI is overly aggressive, often causing unrealistic collisions, and track limits are far stricter than in other racing sims. Stability is also a problem, with crashes and inconsistent behavior during races. Despite updates, the core experience still feels rough and unreliable. Verdict: Ambitious idea, disappointing execution. Not recommended in its current state.
the progression gets interesting
Shaky start but really enjoy where project motor racing is now, so much so I purchased the 1 year pass to get all dlc. I play AC, ACC, GT7, have played iRacing and pretty much every sim I can get my hands on. There did seem to be a big discrepancy from pc to console but that gap seems to be getting bridged
I'm a huge fan of the original Project CARS and I was so looking forward to the release of PMR. Needless to say that the disaappointment has been heavy. Nine months after its first release and this game is still unplayable, Can someone explain to me why, despite having set the gears to automatic both in the general game settings and in the car settings, I still have to manually do the upshift?!? S4S, fix the basics before grabbing money from people!
good game. getting better with ever patch.
I really like PMR. The car selection is unique with the Dodge Vipers, TVR, Moslers, Lister Storm, Group C, GTE etc etc. Exactly what I want as I grew up in 90s with these cars (modern GT cars are a bore for me, I have high end gear and doing heel toe with the oldschool cars is great). I couldent careless about the negative reviews, its a great driving sim/game. Handling feels like AC Evo/ Raceroom to me and FFB is good on my Simagic Alpha. Only issue I have had is some equipment not working (Simworx GT wheel doesent work but Simworx pedals are good to go). My Simagic stuff is great. I cant wait for more tracks though. Yeah so my verdict is that its really good. Glad to add PMR to me sim collection.
I bought this game at version 2.0.0.8, ignoring earlier reviews: What I like: The game looks great! It’s bug-free. The FFB is good and customizable for each car. Mod management (and there are plenty of them) is remarkably simple. The variety of cars and tracks is great. What still needs improvement: The AI is inconsistent (it's impossible to qualify well, yet easy to move up the field during the race). Additional content (I can't wait). Issues recognizing my two steering wheels, forcing me to reconfigure them every time I switch. In conclusion, this game is far from being "junk," and believe me, I'm really enjoying it—and isn't that what matters most?
