Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Sep 10 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Engage in turn-based tactical battle with several enemy factions. Across a grid-based field, maneuver your squad and the enemy to optimize your strategy and dominate.
Every battlefield is different; from using higher ground to increase your attack, to navigating moving environments. Consider your surroundings and use the battlefield to your advantage.
Each mission will have a special challenge, pushing your knowledge of the mechanics with even greater rewards if you succeed.

Prelude Dark Pain takes place in the world of Statera, a territory ravaged by the Dark Pain, an ancient and mysterious source of destruction. The Order of the Ashen Crusade rules with blood and terror over a great extent of this territory while praying to the Lord of Pain. However, there are still free people who fight against the lurking evil, like Soren and the Blue Net faction.
The reality of Statera is being torn apart by the conflict, causing tears in the veil between worlds that protects it from supernatural forces. Through these rifts, the creatures of Pain can break through their reality to invade and cause even greater devastation.
Players will have to make important decisions that will influence both the main story and the heroes that can be recruited in battle. You may miss some of them because of your previous choices!
There will be more than 20 different factions with their own cultures scattered throughout Statera. Many of them are hostile, guaranteeing more than 70 different enemies to face. You'll also find final bosses among them!

In addition to the main story, Prelude Dark Pain will be loaded with sidequests and ways to influence the world outside of the main story. These will give you access to recruit certain heroes and even more lore:
World Missions can be picked up from NPC's across the world map and lead you to even more content.
Raids can undertaken by heroes from your settlement, helping to push back against the tide of enemies, save the innocent, spy and gather resources.
Craft new weapons and equipment for your heroes from your settlement as well, taking your skills warriors to an even greater degree of strength.

This game was a huge surprise. I am glad that I found out about it! The characters are fitting in the dark fantasy theme, as far as I've played, they were all different in their mechanics. I personally hope/wish they add more depth to the fights and to the maps. Right now it felt a little repetitive... but nothing they cant change before the full release. Skill tree and attributes can be reset at anytime, which is great! The crafting could use some love, right now it's just a bit oldschool, when you can't compare your actual gear with the one you are going to craft eventually. The only issue I had with the game is that it's not a full release right now, only EA. So you can only play through Act1 and I really would like to play more and see more characters that can be added to the team B)

As a long-time tactical RPG enthusiast, Prelude: Dark Pain stands out as a rare gem that genuinely lives up to classics like Final Fantasy Tactics. Its stunning art style and engaging narrative are elevated by a uniquely cool cast of characters, while rare, thoughtful tooltips make complex mechanics remarkably intuitive from the start. However, the experience is hindered by severe rough edges, particularly a horrendous, clunky UI in desperate need of quality-of-life polish and controls that feel clearly designed for controllers over mouse and keyboard. Additionally, removing the boring, bloated bonus objectives would keep missions tightly focused on main goals. With enough Early Access polish, this game has masterpiece potential.
Great game, has amazing potential. Can't wait for the full release.
Even considering it is in Early Access, the amount of content is too short for the price. I can't shake the feeling that it was released prematurely; it’s a shame the story doesn't seem to progress at least through Act 3. It is also disappointing that you are forced to use specific heroes to complete achievements. It might just be because it's the early stage of the game, but the tank class feels completely useless.
Certain quality of life issues cause the game to feel early access, but the dev team already addressed the movement issues making the game smoother to play. They said they would be fixing the biggest issue comparing gear in the shop soon, so I can overlook some issues for a fun tactic games.
