Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two

[h1]The sequel to Episode One, obviously. Pretty much the same, just new enemies and maps. 4/10[/h1]

Bigger, better, and longer. Simple formula for success on a sequel or follow-up episode. Sadly this is it before they change style and gameplay but I loved this episode even more. If theres one obscure game series I want to be remade or come back to finish it would be this one.

Great game. They added a few different things to the game but overall its amazing.

Are these dreams a clutch of stifled memories? Was there something in my mind? There are things they say man was not meant to know Is this shadow out of time?

Spielwertung: 8/10 Spielzeit: ca. 6.5 Stunden Spieldurchläufe: 1 (Ende) Anstandslose Fortsetzung von Episode 1. Lediglich die Story wurde ausgetauscht, wir beginnen direkt bei Level 15 (MAX von Episode 1) und dürfen erneut 15 Level (MAX 30) leveln. Die Fähigkeiten / Waffen wurden leicht modifiziert, bei den Gegenständen gibt es ganz leichte Anpassungen, aber im Grunde ist alles vertraut und bleibt gleich. Der Humor ist immer noch so ne Sache, diesmal dürfen wir uns z.B. über "die Reichen" hermachen (wie einfallsreich), aber im Grunde ist das ganze Spiel eine einzige Überzeichnung von Stereotypen. Und hey, ich habe endlich gelernt, was es mit "Overkill" auf sich hat. Ist allerdings imo den doch recht hohen Aufwand nicht wert, für die paar Punkte so viel Planung in die Kämpfe zu stecken (zumal NUR perfekte Ausführungen zählen, der Schaden selbst scheint kaum eine Rolle zu spielen, ansonsten ist es nicht zu erklären, wie jemand mit 100 Leben bei 500 Schaden KEIN Overkill bekommt). Fazit: Neue Story, alter Spaß. Episode 2 schließt nahtlos an den 1. Teil an, als wäre man nie weggewesen. Schade, dass offensichtlich Episode 3 und 4 zwar SPÄTER entwickelt , aber von einem neuen Studio umgesetzt wurden. Die Ergebnisse sehen uralt und völlig anders als diese beiden Spiele aus. Ich verzichte daher dankend, aber auch so hatte ich viel Spaß. ;)

The prequel to this game is fantastic, and if you haven't already gotten it, then get it. This story will only make sense if you play these in order. The combat is turn based, relying on reaction speed in some ultimate moves, or quickly hitting the right keys in quick succession. This game is still a point and click adventure RPG with a humorous story line and wacky, yet memorable characters. This game feels more like what the first game should have felt like, but honestly I'm just happy that this sequel exists. Very worthwhile to play, but maybe get it on sale. The two sequels to this game, the 3rd and 4th installations, were developed by a different studio. They look like they were made in RPG Maker, and personally I find those two repulsive and too different from the original two that I can't even recommend those two, and I feel that I should warn potential buyers of the garbage heap that is the 3rd and 4th installations.

Building from the first adventure, this game maintains its fun, dark humour atmosphere and continues to combine it with engaging and silly combat that is genuinely a pleasure to play through, highly recommended to players who enjoyed the first game! Story: 10/10 Soundtrack: 9/10 Gameplay: 9/10 Voice acting: 9/10 (more frequent than first game) Graphics: Cutscene 10/10. game: 6/10

I picked this one up because I only paid a few bux for it on one of them sweet Steam sales a few years after it came out, and it turned out to be a really fun game. I'll have to give it another play through one of these days. Do me a favor, do it, do it.
