Portability

[b]portability[/b] is a physics-based puzzler with portals. I can take or leave the latter but try to avoid the former, however, the trailer made it look fun. and it is exactly that. [b]84 levels[/b] unlocked one by one, spread over 4 environments with new mechanics added every now and then. each level has a bunch of portals facing various ways, some static enemies and a few things to shoot at them via the portals. no timer, the number of throwables is a kind of move limit, and there's scoring (up to 1000 per level) and a 3-star rating based on that. anything above 750 points is 3 stars and score depends on how effectively stuff gets destroyed, not the number of teleportations. simply completing a level is enough to unlock the next and even if you're going for achievements, 3 stars is all you need, not maximum points. some portals are stronger than others, indicated by a beam coming out of them, and boxes and other things, throwable or otherwise affected by them, slowly break. they can be re-used until then, unless they hit a spike, that's an insta-kill. you can quickly relaunch stuff while in the air, so there are timing elements, not uncommon in games like this, and boxes and such bounce back from the sides even if there's no wall. if all the 'ammo' deteriorates and there are enemies left, the level is failed. the jungle is supposed to ease you into things, but I already found some levels tricky enough there, though [b]the overall difficulty is relatively low[/b]. the desert adds indestructable elements to play with by tossing objects at them, as well as rubber balls bouncing around. the cave eventually introduces hands-off zones, whatever's inside can't be interacted with, have to push them out of there first. and finally, space adds zero-gravity areas for that special weightless feeling. the graphics are simple but adequate, the music is very repetitive though, really short loops. separate volume settings and an optional health bar for everything breakable are available from the menu and while playing, and various languages to choose from on startup, plus [b]windowed mode got patched in[/b], a resizable window, status and size gets remembered between sessions. the price is not too bad and [b]I can easily recommend this for anyone looking for about 3 hours of destructive fun[/b]. the demo got removed at some point for some reason, then brought back, so you can try it for yourself.
