Really fun way to study French causally, and I'm glad to be giving my money to some small creators as opposed to renewing my Duolingo subscription lol. A lot of people are saying that the game is tedious if you already have an advanced French level, but I'm around B2 and I still had a good time playing. I went into this game thinking of it more as an educational tool to refresh my French, and I think that improved my experience a lot. Its true that the eating/drinking mechanic is repetitive and that there are a lot of very basic words used, but I still ended up learning a thing or two (random new words like "clé à molette" for example lol). Plus, its very pleasant to play-through an entire game where I understood 98% of the dialog as opposed to constantly stopping to look up definitions of new words. The way I see it is that language learning always takes patience anyways, might as well have some fun while I'm at it! My only regret is not knowing about this game sooner! :)
I enjoyed it a lot. Super useful an honestly worth the buy. Do a run with subtitles then challenge yourself by doing a run without subtitles. Amazing game. If you get stuck at any part of the game I made a guide you can follow, but it will spoil all of the puzzles; if you want a guide that just gives you enough clues, the devs made a DLC with a hint book. Go check that out if you still want the thrill of solving the puzzles by yourself.
Cute little game for French learners. Fun plot and writing, with a good amount of places to explore and a good number of NPCs to talk to. I liked that it wasn't too easy, but a couple of the puzzles felt a bit 'moon logic'-y and I found myself having to scrub through a streamer's playthrough of the game to find a solution a couple of times when I got stuck.
So good. Exceeded all expectations
Je suis Pierre... et je suis un aventurier...
I have a moderate level of skill in French, I've been doing some Duolingo and actively trying to advance my vocabulary and skill. It's really too bad that there are so few narrative learning options, it's nice to just get into a story and forget you're learning. This game was perfect for that. The language is simple enough that I understood 80% of it and could intuit the rest. Nice to immerse myself in some French. It's great that all the French words including inventory labels and object names and descriptions are voiced, really helps with language learning. Great game!! Wish there was a sequel.
What a great idea! A point and click adventure game focused on easy to read (and hear) French, perfect for someone like me who can read a little French and needs a lot of practice.
Bonjour. C'est moi, Orson Welles, et ceci est ma maison que vous voyez, derrière, là. Pas mal, non ? C'est français.
This is a wonderful game if you are someone who has the basics down for French and wants to apply your skills a bit more. If you are a complete beginner, it may be hard to understand what do to. As a puzzle game, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I was expected a French "game", where I would learn the language, but the game part would be secondary--like Duolingo's interactive game sections. However, this was actually a well-designed adventure game with some clever puzzles. Granted, there are some obtuse solutions with "Moon Logic", but you're bound to get that with any adventure game. If you like to learn a language and like a challenging puzzle game, I would absolutely recommend this!
