Very fun game, runs perfect on PC, a must for future funk music fans, and quite the challenge but it has a lot of mechanics to tackle them
this game seems fun and cute, but until there is a way to actually play it in fullscreen and not just windowed I have to say I don't recommend it. The game's resolution is too low that even on my fairly not great monitor the window is super small and I can't see it well enough to react. I've checked the options and the discussion boards and have found no way to run it at a higher resolution or in fullscreen.
PopSlinger is popping!!! ≋≋≋🗻📼🌸🌴⛲️🐬💾 ≋≋≋
Ojala se de para la secuela
A very demanding game that doesn't hold up its end of the bargain. A lack of polish, interesting mechanics, and enemy design make it hard to reach the score requirements from popping color coded enemies in color coded barriers that the game sometimes tricks you into breaking. The weapon types hamper the streaks and the streaks hamper the power up system. Being told I had to get a B Rank minimum on a level where a mechanic was disabled entirely did not help this perception. The iffy audio mixing also means the soundtrack it prides itself on can't be appreciated within its own context. I see the vision, but I can't say the execution justifies it.
A Challenging Shoot 'Em Up
For me, PopSlinger is a challenging shoot 'em up that at first requires a lot of trial and error to get through the levels with the amount of dodging and shooting of enemies, especially in later levels and in boss fights. I recall my first playthrough being very challenging, but subsequent attempts let me understand my mistakes and try to do better next time. For instance, understanding where enemies come from and trying to use that to your advantage will come from playing and progressing through each level. So, I suggest not getting disheartened from repeated attempts. As for the story, you'll following plucky Ria as she teams up with Gin to help save the day against the gooey monsters while she tries to discover herself and poke fun at Gin's serious nature. The duo have a tense partnership, but Ria and Gin have that dynamic of a fun-and-lighthearted girl with her mysterious mentor assisting her. In short, PopSlinger can be a very, very difficult shoot 'em up to play at first as the reliance on dodging and strafing is quite high in this game, but your initial shortcomings will help you succeed in popping all the enemies in sight. And one more thing, the music is absolutely fantastic, and I think you'll find yourself grooving to all the tunes the game has to offer. I often find myself listening to the soundtrack outside of the game as well.
