[/th][/table] Is this game a masterpiece? No, it is just cute platformer with an interesting game mechanic. Shooting, jumping, as well as getting hit makes you smaller and smaller, and you take damage and lose one of your few health points at your smallest form. Doing nothing (and not getting hit) lets you grow again quite fast, so the game can easily be played by taking a hit or two to get what you want - as long as you can regenerate afterwards. There are also some obstacles that require you to be small - don't get hit during that time. You play a slug that travels through the land together with an immor(t)al witch. On your way to lift a curse, you two exterminate the local population, including bosses and other slugs. It starts not very difficult, because you regain your health rather fast. It would be a nice game for younger kids, actually, but it does get more challenging after a few levels. Also the witch talks with you quite regularly, and since the game has no voice acting, reading skills are required. A kid wouldn't get most of the jokes as well. Gamepad control works fine. [u][b] Conclusion:[/b][/u] Platformer with fantasy story, unsophisticated visuals and an unique regrow mechanic. Not bad.

The Wizard and the Slug is a truly unique and mesmerizing experience that i may fall short in words to express how magnificent it is. Few are the games that can be so genuinely hilarious, humorous, and at the same time, so deep & heartwarming. Smart comebacks, puns & trash talking turn into philosophical , religious and existential dilemmas and the other way around which led me tearing up quite some times. A world colorful and full of life, with charming & crazy characters and a great & befitting Soundtrack blend together to create this astounding & mysterious Journey. [b]Did I mention that Everything was created by the same single person!?! [/b] Hats off big time!! Gameplay is semi casual, simple & solid, plays like a smaller scaled metroidvania without being too difficult although it has it's share of tough platforming here & there. Each jump and shot , shrinks your slug for a short period, adding a neat management element. You also unlock different shot types as you progress. Hardly anymore I beat games in one sitting (that's over 2-3 hours long) but this one kept me going, without tiring me one bit and i finished it in a bit less than 6 hours. Fun platforming with a sweet, heartfelt story.

Man, honestly? 16 Reviews? It saddens me a bit to see this game being so underrated. I had a wonderful time with this little platformer, that has a beautiful story, nice humour and a lot of heart. Platforming wise it is not too difficult, even though in later sections there are a few tricky moments, but if you like the genre, it shouldn't be too hard to handle. The boss fights are challenging and nicely done. What makes this game shine though is the art and the story, so don't just play the arcade mode, for the full journey is really worth it. Wonderful little game, that can be completed in 5 to 7 hours.

Really good game despite the abysmal production value. The star of the show really is the writing here, the humor felt on point and got a nice amount of laughs out of me and I thought it was very reminiscent of Undertale on that side. Story-wise it had some decent plot points as well, I think overall the setting is interesting and unique, but at times it can read a bit like tumblr fan-fiction (which depending on the person doesn't have to be a bad thing, personally I do think it's cute). Gameplay-wise it's not great but I definitely wouldn't call it bad either, it plays slightly different from most plaftormers by having a bunch of rechargeable jumps and floaty physics on top of a good amount of combat, it's certainly not boring but at times it can feel a little out of control. Ultimately still had a really enjoyable time with it, I wish the sequel still happens eventually because this is just really sweet and fun.

A fun adventure from start to finish with a banger soundtrack to accompany you on your adventure. The story is charming and interesting while very solid gameplay mechanics. The characters are all super unique, both in design and writing. The humor was very solid and never felt too prolonged. I adore this game and I hope everyone else who plays it does too.

A quirky, and silly platformer with some really creative and fun gameplay mechanics. The story is fun, but also somewhat epic? Or something. I gotta play more, I'll update this review at some point. Anyway, story good, gameplay good, get it.
