Will Polaris be a live service title?
No, Polaris will offer a complete experience at launch. That said, if big AAA studios don't get everything right day one, our little team certainly won't, so we'll no doubt be making bug fixes and balancing changes after release, and we'll take that responsibility seriously. If people dig what we've made and would like more, we'll definitely consider it, so long as we won't bankrupt ourselves in the process. But I don't want to sell people something which is incomplete, half-finished, or where we're pitching as-yet-unrealised potential. We just want to make a cool game, and we hope it looks cool to you, too!
What operating systems will Polaris be compatible with?
At launch we'll support Windows PC only, with the possibility of Steam Deck support at a later point.
Will this be an Early Access title?
No, Polaris will launch in full when released.
What's the inspiration behind making Polaris?
It's Jonathan the creative director writing this (hi there!). I can't speak for everyone on the team, so I'll answer just for me... I've kind of always wanted to work on a game like this. I grew up loving the games of Bullfrog and Psygnosis, in particular Syndicate, Wipeout, G-Police, and Colony Wars. So experiences involving "teams of high tech soldiers, using high tech vehicles, causing chaos in an original science fiction world" have always been embedded deep in my frontal lobe. Over the years I've fallen in love with games like Halo, Earth Defence Force, Red Faction, Just Cause, Crimson Skies, and Ace Combat. Polaris is a melting pot of all these inspirations (and more!) combined with the raw talent and creativity of the awesome team I get to work with everyday. Also they turned off the Warhawk servers so this is the only way I get to fulfil that particular gameplay fantasy.

This might be the first negative review I've ever typed for anything in my entire life, but I don't think I've ever regretted opening a game on my PC more, this is just awful. It rearranged everything on my desktop across all 3 monitors, and now the even after closing the game, the bottom half of my display is unusable. Like I can't even drag icons to the bottom part of my screen anymore. On top of that, the game is also awful, unfun, and poorly optimized. I highly recommend you pass on this one.
Holy god how do you play this lmao I thought the tutorial button was busted - it played audio but didn't show anything or take me anywhere - i pressed it a few times and the audio layered over itself lmao Then I figured out it just opened my web browser and played a youtube video lmaooo WITH ADs ON IT If you try to play, it just thrusts you into an environment with objects floating off the ground and an absolute information overload of a screen after falling 1000m to the ground with no direction, story, hints of how to play or what you're supposed to be doing and how to do it Then I accidentally'd into flying - Found some rings - And it clicked. This is Superman 64 remastered.
Flying around in the hover boots and airship is a fun. However, there are only two missions available, and they are pretty straightforward. You just have to destroy one ship to earn enough money to buy the boots or airship, then defeat the boss that you can now fly to. After that, you're done. I would say that you'll spend more time trying to figure out what's going on than actually completing the mission.
It's a very strange game to say the least. It looks like a lot of fun, but there's so many questionable choices for instance the spawn in.. why are you awkwardly falling when you spawn? There's no gliding or any quick way to reach a surface. Then comes the absolutely abysmal UI the game has, menu's, player hud, it's like it was drawn together on ms paint by a high school student. It feels like a tech demo being sold as a complete game, and it honestly should remain in early access for another year. It has the fundamentals of being something good, but the little things ruin the rest of the potentially good experiences from happening.
Received this product for Free from NAGWizard on Twitch.tv We played 5 rounds with 4 members in our party. Initial thoughts were that the game was fairly easy, but as we continued to play, we were pleasantly greeted with additional difficulty that picked up at a really comfortable pace. Practically everything is destructable, there's a lot of fun mechanics here, and I think this is a great base. As a gamer, I want to see more from this game: Ability to customize a character (skins, outfits, colors, ect) would be cool and maybe a starting loadout of "starting" weapons that I have unlocked. Requisitioning higher level items is a good mechanic. I would really like to see more mission types, and more maps. The ability to select random mission types/maps would also be great. Hopefully the devs also add achievements in the future as well! The only problems I had were a few small camera issues, and one time where I started flying completely sideways with the gravity boots, but nothing game breaking. The biggest complaint would honestly be after the initial jump, my player falls directly downwards, not in a dive and is not controllable. I feel pretty comfortable calling this a 7.5/10 right now, easily moving to a 9/10 if some of the above suggestions are added.
It's okay... nothing bad nothing great just kind of okay.
Крутая игра! Нужно больше разного контента! На данном этапе - игрой доволен. Играл в соло - рекомендую играть с тиммейтами-друзьями. Так больше шансов пройти выполнить миссию, да и просто - веселее.
This is by no meens a bad game, it has solid bones... but it is defs half finished and was marketed as a full release. Like few mission types (only 2 so far) no ground enemies and lacking many quality of life features. Never pay full price, but if you have friends or are just an extraction conesseur then I guess pay 10 cad or less if you can. Game seems very grindy for such little content. 4.5/10 - soo far
