About

Welcome to the Debtors' Club. It's up to you - and your team of debt collectors - to make the businesses of the city pay what they owe to the public treasury. Governance doesn't come cheap, you know, and it's up to you to make everyone pay up - whatever it takes.
Persuade and intimidate debtors, ruthlessly interrogate their financial records, and if need be, send a couple of Paci-Fists to explain impolitely that tax dodging is frowned upon in polite society. The law, after all, is on your side - that is, as long as you can meet the daily collection quota. There's quite the backlog to work through - and precious little time.

Shape Your Path: Your behavior and choices will define your journey in a roguelite-style narrative experience that combines hand-crafted content with an innovative dialogue-generation system.
Engaging Conversations: Talk to debtors through phone calls, employing persuasive tactics to extract payments and uncover their businesses hidden secrets.
Team Management: Take charge of a team City Hall employees, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and strategically assign them to cases.
Challenging Choices: Confront difficult moral dilemmas as you navigate the murky waters of corruption, deciding between compassion and ruthless efficiency.
City Hall Intrigue: Explore the depths of a shadowy city hall, uncovering layers of deceit and unearthing the truth behind the moral decay that plagues the city.
Minigames and Tasks: Engage in captivating minigames and complete tasks that reflect the various challenges faced by the mayor's favorite employee.
Reactive Narrative: Experience a dynamic storyline with multiple branching paths, where your decisions have a tangible impact on the city and its inhabitants.
Consequences and Morality: Your choices will have ripple effects, shaping the city's fate and testing your own moral compass.
Immersive Atmosphere: All presented in an unique art style, blending the innocence of cartoons with the ruthless world of debts, taxes, and public governance.

I feel a bit bad as these indie developers did a great job for certain parts of the game. The aesthetic is wonderful: stylized, enjoyable art, very fitting, fun music, the atmosphere/theming is strong. However, the actual game mechanics part is unfortunately sorely lacking and neglected. I'm not even sure if it's something that can be easily fixed as it would require an overhaul of the whole system. As it stands, the brunt of this game is rolling a six sided die and hoping to get the required minimum number to succeed. There is virtually no input from the player making the game extraordinarily reliant on RNG that is not fun. Even when you do have items from the shop, there is no easy way to know what you have and the visual/audio cues of their activation is very subtle and lackluster. My suggestion to the developers would be to focus on letting the player interact with the die roll and success threshold: add "per day" actions, one-off consumables in the shop, anything that alleviates the player just watching helplessly. Overall, if you're interested in gameplay, skip this. If you like the art and want to watch a goofy, fun story, maybe wait for a 50% discount before you buy.
The game looks great and interesting, but unfortunately the gameplay is just not there. Everytime you select an option you basically roll a dice and hope to beat the requirement, you can get bonuses if you were lucky and the case you selected had information. The gameplay just boils down to RNG from the start, that you can improve later on, but it still won't make the gameplay loop fun.
I do love the game, but it's too reliant on RNG to make the gameplay loop feel very fun after more than a couple few rounds. I saw some great suggestions on how the devs could tweak the gameplay loop, but I can't recommend the game as-is
I agree with some of the other statements that the gameplay just is not really there. It's not engaging. But what really made it frustrating is that the controls are all over the place. I need to use shift to bring up the assets. This also does not pause the call. Then it does not show that to get out of the menu it is also shift (QOL). At times it also wouldn't let me use this option at the beginning of the call either. The mouse button I need to click on the specific dialogue boxes which are alternating left and right side of the screen. Why can't I skip the text with enter or space or just click anywhere on the screen really? Since dialogue is timed, it is quite annoying. You can also check the license date, but the current date was not clearly mentioned either when you are on a call. You have to remember it before you start the day. So you can't just use the mouse even though it should be possible since it is only a few buttons. In some parts Enter is to skip dialogue, but it is also used to skip the shop entirely. Like what? There are objectives given by the mayor, but they often completely conflict with what you should be doing. So you have 3 options to get your money: 1. peaceful collection, 2. tax audit, 3. violence. Where option 1 gives 100% and the others less and less percentage. So ideally you want to use peaceful collection, but the special objective requires you to do all of them violently for say a 5k bonus, meanwhile that means you only collect like 40% and the violence costs 4,5k per time you send it as well. So you actually lose over 8k for just following that regardless of collection amount. It's not well thought out. There is a max of 3 collections you can do per day as well. So there is no benefit in being efficient/fast. Either way, I just found myself clicking through dialogue to get to the collection option without giving it any real thought and just hopeing the RNG falls my way. I did see some upgrades to improve your dialogue options, but I found the controls to frustrating/tedious to keep playing. It tries to be a bit like Papers Please, but it really falls short to hit the mark in gameplay and general QOL. I love the artstyle though.
From buying the game to completing my first playthrough only 2,5 hours passed. The developers tried to implement some features that improve replay value (multiple "story-lines", a few different buffs) but the gameplay is just too shallow. After <1 hour you have seen everything the gameplay has to offer and once you understand the system its way to easy and boring. Also there are too many unskippable animations and repetetive text bubbles which you have to click away hundreds of times per playthrough. The game crashed on me thrice in those 2,5h which generally just means you have to replay the specific day during which it crashed. For 9€ its not really expensive but considering its content and the fact that on this website I have bought games for 5€ that I played for 50+ hours I wouldnt buy this one again. If you want to kill 2 hours then go for it, but to me its not really a "game"-game. Its like a little more sophisticated candy crush. PRO: nice artstyle, humorous, easy to get into CONTRA: gets boring VERY fast, gameplay is too shallow, very short
I wanted to like this game. It had fun music. Neat art. Good theme. But as I was playing and getting into finishing day 3, I realized... I wasn't actually having fun. I was rolling a random die and hoping I got the number to pass... but I had no real direction on how to improve that number. The shop wouldn't let me buy things to improve even with the money I had. In the end, I refunded the game, because if I'm going to spend time doing something. I'd like to enjoy it.
Wonderful writing, difficult to know what is going on at first glance, few slaps across the beak by my team and we were off and planning badly. Serving a corrupt Mayor, by extorting the community businesses with guilt, threats, talking and bluffing to get them to pay up... like a government mobster... Whats not to like?? I felt in my first week, that I was a pro... was too easy... until It was not.... I got fired day one in my second week of work... I did receive a parting gift however..., literally got a lolly pop, then quickly sent to the "train station" without knowing I was planning a trip. Weird thing is, I never packed a bag, I was picked up at the office.... no lunch either... wonder how far it is?
Would be a pawn again, to be hated by everyone, making the mayor rich, while inventing baldness from one week of work
Solid buy and replay ability is, forced.... apologies..... we mean... "necessary" Any game that adds this level of stress, that even my ADHD hits the F-IT button, is a gem of entertainment in my book. I got the game from a bundle and enjoyed playing it. It fun and I like the artwork. It took me 2h30 to make one run but I will not replay it, I am fine with one run and move on. While it is a luck of the dice at the beginning, you can eventually buy items to influence the dice role in your favour, so by the end of the game even with low roll I was able to collect debt without problem.
Working As The Mayors Personal Debt Collector
The Positive's + Good Soundtrack + Lovely Art Style + Multiple Endings The Negative's - Repetitive Dialogue/Gameplay - Boring Story The Aspect Of The Game You are the new debt collector working under the mayor at city hall. Your job is to collect a certain amount of money each day or get fired. My Two Cent Review Don't get me wrong I love story games, document checking games, and repetitive management games but after going through 10 days of this game I had to push myself to finish this game coming back to it only able to play 30 minutes at a time before the dullness forces me to quit it and come back to it another day. The mini-games are all right but it's nothing special. The story is very dull to me personally which I can see the developers did an excellent job on illustrating the world but the writing was dreadfully dull to me to where the last two weeks I skipped the dialogue in the debt collection park and always picked the option where I had the highest positive multiplier where I successfully convinced all debtors to pay there debts. The game has multiple endings but I just can't force myself to play a game where I am just not having fun. I will still be looking into these developers future games but I cannot recommend this game. The Value Of The Game This game is not worth more than 5 dollars for the quality of the game. I know it looks cool and it sounds like an interesting concept but this game get's dull really fast.
Final Score 30/100 Ranking F Tier
