It's a puzzle game that feels like resolving traffic complaints in a tiny world, one by one.
I have two problems with the game: - It feels destructive, at the end the vehicles and creatures you paved the way for explode - As you level up, it's extremely hard to factor in all the possible elements for bombs and new road shapes, it feels like work, not fun. For me, improvements would be: - A peaceful mode where you don't destroy anything, just rebuild - nothing should explode at the end either - An even steeper top-down perspective, for a better overview, which is also maintained if you set it up that way. Perhaps with an even less detailed graphic elements (also for better overview). The graphic effects, sound effects and music are impeccable and everything is done with a lot of love. I'm all the more sorry because I can see that the developer has put a lot of effort into it. So the my thumbs down only applies to my feeling as to whether I enjoy the game. PS: I made it to level 24
Please Fix The Road is an adorable puzzle game build around moving and swapping tiles around to help cars, boats and animals get from A to B. It's chill, it's beautiful, and it's a lot of fun. To begin with. As you would expect with any puzzle game, the difficulty increases as you progress, with different moves types being introduced which force you to think every move carefully. The problem for me though, is it very quickly got to the point where it not only wasn't 'easy', but after watching videos for a few, it occurred to me what my issue was, and is the crux of my not being able to recommend this game. With a lot of the puzzles that I had to watch videos for, I couldn't but think 'there's no way I could have figured this out' - some of them need very specific, unintuitive, moves, and unlike other puzzle games I've played, there's no sense of whether you're going in the right direction / making progress. I could be 1 move away from solving it, or be completely off track; you don't really know. Yes, there are hints, but it's not the same as solving it yourself and knowing that you're making progress towards the right answer. And maybe it's just me - but looking at the achievement stats, and only 8% of players have even made it half way. I hope the developer continues making great puzzle games (I gather there's one they're already working on), but hope they can take this feedback into account - yes we want it to be challenging, but we want it to be solvable as well.
I wanted to like this, but it just wasn't very fun unfortunately. If a puzzle was challenging and I was able to solve it, it didn't make me feel smart or particularly rewarding. I'm not sure what could be improved, just wanted to share my experience.
I didn't enjoy the puzzles. I just didn't feel any sense of accomplishment from solving them, so maybe it's just not for me.
You get a set of actions which you can only perform in the predefined order. Reminds me of Golf Peaks which is awesome as well! In Please Fix The Road most actions need you to select a tile or set of tiles and an additional input like other tiles to be swapped with or a direction to be pushed in. At first it seems pretty constricted, but this opens up quickly and racks the number of possible actions up high, so it sometimes gets a long search of finding that one intended solution. The difficulty rises continuously, though some levels are straight up obviously solved while the next level takes time to solve. Or maybe it's just me thinking off. Very recommended!
Please Fix the Road is a puzzle game where you shift tiles around to connect various types of pathways (roads, canals, etc). The art direction for this is fun! It's bright, colorful, and, at times, bombastic. However, the process of solving puzzles is kind of bland. The game play itself feels mediocre. I played a while on this and just couldn't get into it.
A simple puzzle game? Yeah, right. I finally 100% completed this game after 12 hours—but across a span of three years (2022–2025). Bought it at launch in June 2022, thinking it would be a chill little puzzle game. Instead, it became my arch-nemesis, haunting me to finish it for the last 3 years. Graphic and design? Absolutely astounding visuals for an indie puzzle game. The art style is minimalistic yet colorful, making every level a treat to look at. The smooth level transitions add to the charm, making the experience feel polished and well-designed. The core gameplay is simple: fix the road so everything passes through. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. Some puzzles are straightforward, while others will leave you staring at the screen, questioning your life choices. It’s enjoyable but definitely has its frustrating moments. It’s a well-crafted game that challenges your brain while keeping things visually engaging. Highly recommended! ⭐ 8.5/10 – Beautiful, frustrating, and absolutely worth it.
A wonderful game of calm and tranquility
