Puzzle Pelago - A Drag & Drop Economy
"Puzzle Pelago" is a puzzle game that's as fun and rewarding as it's frustrating at times- the hallmark of a good logic-puzzle game. It looks deceptively easy, and starts out as such- "just drag this building here and you're good to go!"; But quickly enough this simplicity turns into "how the hell do I place this building there?!?!"- a truly horrifying task that can take half an hour of "hmm", and "what about this?" and "I hate this game" and "WHY DOESN'T THIS WORK ARRRGH"- until you figure out that you're the only one to blame, the solution wasn't that tough all along, your parents were right to not believe in you, this is why your ex left you and why you failed that damn math quiz in 6th grade. This next level looks innocent enough though... 10/10 would get an existential crisis due to some digital roads and buildings again
Was expecting more from the simulation aspect of it- so I was initially disappointed. However, the puzzles themselves and puzzle designs are pretty good. It's a clever little title. Too expensive for what's here though.
Who the hell said this was a good game? They lied. Awful game. Who was this intended for? Worse casual game I have ever played or tried to play. Not fun at all.
Amazing game! I played the mobile version of this game for endless hours and it's nice to see it arrive on Steam. The mechanics are quite different than what I first expected looking at the screenshots, but I was very positively surprised. I love the novel combination of an economy sim and a challenging puzzler. It you like sim games, puzzlers or both, you will love this game.
This is a neat puzzle game were you need to click and drag various objects next to other objects, like a piece of forest next to a village in order to get the citizens the logs of wood they need. From the log factory you can then drag and create another building that makes planks. You can also make new items by combining dragged object (putting them next to each other), for example to make iron you need to combine two different mines made from coal and ore mountains. It's a bit more complicated though. You need to plan your island maps carefully because you can't make crossroads and sometimes an object needs to be dragged over the whole island. If you make a mistake, you can destroy the objects by right-clicking on them or use the bomb icon. The 101 islands are split up in 15 chapters that unlock after you've finished the previous chapter. However, they don't unlock in numbered order except for the first 2 or 3 chapters that unlock after the tutorial (about 10 islands). Learning to make certain items/objects unlocks the chapters (metal to make tools to make furnitures etc). Settings include window mode, screen size, sounds and language.
To be clear, the game is fine, but there are much better puzzles out there. While the basic mechanism is pretty cute, it's also a touch clumsy and flat, and I think this is well illustrated in how the majority of the puzzles are very straightforward. The most annoying thing is having to repeatedly reference the A+B=C, B+A=D type combinations you have to make. Really, the game was at its best once the bridges were introduced, but there's simply too little of it at that point. Overall it simply never left me satisfied, and the entire game felt like it was lacking a final polish. If it looks interesting and it's on sale, eh, go for it - perhaps it's more your cup of tea than mine.

Very interesting puzzle game. I like how you have to figure out the right way to connect the resources to the cities. Gameplay for those curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U09UDPFspyE
