I had to stop over concerns. In short, I have a 2080 super, yet this game somehow eats ALL the gpu when it is running, even is minimized. It doesn't matter what settings I change. in-fact, when I lower settings, the game runs worse. The issue is either poor optimization by the devs or the game is doing something nefarious with my gpu. Either way, I am sad because I wanted to enjoy this game so much. It is so similar to panorama, but with cyberpunk, I will be refunding,
A relaxing yet challenging blend of chill strategy and neon aesthetics with an immersive soundtrack.
Jeu très agréable, relaxant, beau design moderne. Jeu addictif ^^
HexoCity is very chill and relaxing. I streamed it on my twitch and enjoyed being able to chat and play with ease. The music is incredibly good. Absolutely loved every track. Some reminded more of Blade Runner-y style songs to some that even gave me a Cowboy Bebop flair. All of it, super good. I really love the outrun, cyberpunk-y graphics of the tiles. Even the water and sun are beautiful as a backdrop. I love how you can zoom in and angle the camera so you can get a great look at the cityscape. For those looking for less of a challenge and an even more chill experience, there is a creative mode where you have free reign of your city and tiles. You can make some gorgeous views! I was able to play this on my Steam Deck without messing with any settings and it worked great. After an incredibly long session on the same map, I did experience some frame drops at max quality, but dropping the graphics to medium solved any lag. Keep in mind, this was an absurdly long run (9 hours) and I didn't experience any slower frames till about hour 7 on the same run. If you're looking for a chill and relaxing puzzle game that you can vibe with to great synthwave music, this is definitely your pick!
Hexocity: A Relaxing Journey in Futuristic Urban Construction
The game : Hexocity is an incredibly relaxing futuristic city-building game where the pace adapts to your preference. The gameplay involves placing hexagonal tiles with various surfaces (sand, rivers, buildings, houses, roads, palm forests...) on the ocean, creating a soothing atmosphere with the objective of building a large, peaceful, and harmonious city. The gameplay : To achieve the highest score, it is best to connect the sides of the tiles with the same materials, striving for the "perfect" that unlocks new tiles and very useful bonuses that can save you from critical situations. The goal is to play almost endlessly: continuously expand the map, regain tiles, manage bonuses, and create extensive road and river networks. The replayability is excellent. After a few games, you feel the desire to optimize the rivers and roads, structure the downtown area, manage the forests, and use the available bonuses wisely. The strategy remains calm thanks to the game's finely crafted atmosphere: the colors, music, sounds, and small animations create a refined result. The mouse camera control is easy to handle and makes you want to hover over the city in a top-down view to appreciate its size, then zoom in to explore the details. The classic game mode ends when all available tiles are exhausted, but it is possible to transform each map from this challenge mode into creative mode to modify it infinitely with the available tools. The tile generation is quick! This mode also allows you to take in-game photos to create beautiful wallpapers and explore the game's capabilities to improve your strategy. We play both mother and daughter : the game is accessible to all ages and allows for great relaxation. The music is very soft and enjoyable over the long term, especially with headphones. Note that the gameplay does not suffer if you have to play without sound. This is surely a game I will come back to from time to time!
Maybe on sale, but full price too much IMO
This game is a little nugget of gold! The synthwave music is truly incredible and immerses us in the game's universe. I just want to get in my car and drive along the motorways I'm building, facing the sunset between the buildings of my cities. This game is addictive! I want more of this dope!
