For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

When you are lost in the dark and can no longer see the stars in the sky, please remember what you have seen here today. Planetarian explores a few ideas in its short play time, but for me, it’s a story about meaning. What happens to a world that has lost it; how it shapes us and what we sacrifice for it, whether it is written in one’s code or found somewhere along the course of life. In a world rent by war and the near extinction of man, both the nameless scavenging “Junker” and the customer service android Yumemi find themselves adrift. His is a life of violent subsistence punctuated by the meager pleasures of cigarettes and alcohol, while her every thought and action is dedicated to serving people who long ago ceased to exist. Their short time together brings meaning to both of them, one discovered in his case and restored in hers. Yumemi calls the Junker “Mr. Customer” throughout, even though he is not a customer in any sense of the word and he himself rejects the title; I don’t think she does this because it’s merely her design, or to annoy him (even though it does) but rather to express her gratitude at being able to live her purpose again after so many years of waiting. In spite of being polar opposites, neither is reduced to caricature. The Junker may be a hardened survivor, but he is still human; brief vignettes provide a look into the world he’s lived in, and in spite of such bleak circumstances, he finds there’s more to life than the next scavenged bottle. Yumemi’s innocence is her most enduring trait, but her thoughts and desires suggest a consciousness deeper than could be programmed. Together they are funny, sad, thoughtful, and quite moving. The presentation is rich for such a short story. Yumemi’s sprite is detailed and expressive, the backgrounds create a strong sense of place, and the CGs and animations convey both the melancholy of the world as well as key narrative moments. The music sometimes feels a little more upbeat than I would expect against some of the scenes, but it’s nicely composed and surprisingly catchy. I should mention that it’s an entirely linear story, with no choices to make or branching paths to follow. Having read a few VNs recently with multiple endings, I appreciated the commitment to having just one here, but it’s worth noting in case that’s not what you’re looking for. An easy recommend at full price, even better on sale. I’ve already spent more than my play time just thinking about this one.
