I don't know what to say... Its so good that I have been glued to my monitor for an Unhealthy amount of time. 5-7 Hours a day, I have just Re-discovered this game in my library a week ago and I cant stop playing it. 11/10
Gamebreaking bug in the franchise mode that has existed for a year that still isn't fixed, and not really worth it for the cringey campaign and boring sandbox mode.
The experience of playing this on PC is extremely frustrating and disappointing because of the following 2 main areas: Controls/Navigation & UX, Poor Campaign & Lack of Variety. Controls & UX: The controls are clearly not well thought out for mouse & keyboard, making even navigating the camera annoying when a random palm tree gets in your way making your camera focus switch to it instead of the overall view. When building a coaster it takes you forever to build even simple turns and twists. God forbid you made a mistake on the angle of the last placed track, since if you press Ctrl+Z, then it resets to a straight track instead of the curves/angles/slope you previously had, making you have to customize it aaaall over again instead of simply tweaking the angles and slopes of the last piece placed. There is so much information, tabs, sub menus, etc. that I think they tried to include so much stuff that in the end itis really hard to find the stuff you need (And a lot of it is just useless or quite unnecessary to have) I literally had to google how to find the sub tab of the marketing campaigns that are nested inside 2 sub-menus. I could keep going but I think my point comes across. Poor Campaign & Lack of Variety: I'm putting this together since they corelate quite a bit. I remember when I used to play other games like RCT which had a lot of diversity in their campaigns and challenges. The sceneries, objectives, sizes of parks, etc. made it interesting to play. In this campaign, which is frankly just an extremely long tutorial, it feels like you are just playing parks that are a bunch of props pasted with not much planning. They lack personality, they feel dull and pretty much all the same. The objectives are boring, monotonous and have a weird scaling in terms of difficulty. Challenges include "build 3 flat rides", "Build a pool in X area of the park" (Fun fact; they don't tell you where you can check the park area names so I had to google it to find out you had to go yet again to a sub-menu's sub-tab to see this). I think they could've gone a bit more creative, but instead feels like rushed, poorly made and without love. Oh and one last thing: the voice acting and "story" is quite a bit annoying, doesn't add to the game at all and just introduces to you some irrelevant characters with annoying personalities.
Too complicated to play casually without getting a headache
Now that it's been over a year and most of the issues that plagued the initial release are fixed, I can say it's a worthy successor to Planet Coaster, what with the water slides and new features and such. It's also a viable alternative to No Limits 2 for realistic roller coaster building (unlike the first Planet Coaster) because the track smoothing is vastly improved over the first game. The ride rating system is still stupid, though.
Furchtbares, frustrierendes Bausystem. Eingänge verbinden, minimale Höhenunterschiede, unklar definierte Bauzonen - ich gebe auf.
I really want to like this game, but the tools you get to make your park are so un-intuitive that it makes all the awesome assets pointless.
Unfortunately although it has more new features like the water park etc, a lot of it is all hidden behind paywall packages, think The Sims expansion pack nightmare, same thing here. I asked for a refund and won't be purchasing any future games from these developers who seem to think we will tolerate bad practices like this. Also, no community mods/objects available to add and download so you are stuck with needing their expansion packs. I enjoyed what little time I played, but when in game purchases are showing up for something I technically don't even own in the first place (like these digital copies we all buy) then I'm not supporting the notion that we should own nothing. I want to own my game, I want to pay once for an entire game, not a base model then each little package they want to tease me with in hopes to squeeze every dollar they can out of the people who support their companies and profits. Boycott games who do this! Force them to listen to us!
This game is Frustrating beyond believe. I dont even want to get into any things that could have been improved since Planet Coaster 1 but I have been playing Career mode and had to quit the game multiple times out of frustration. Be it because of the messed up path and waiting line draw tools freaking out when trying to fill in spaces or the path and walkways just freaking out when placing entry and exit gates for a ride on a walkway forcing me to place a waiting line in the walkpath. Or when building coasters on the very limited land in career mode, the sharp locked part map edges had me rebuild entire coasters. The overall experience felt like I was playing an early access title. Watching a video of early access gameplay, i barely notice a difference.
best game of rollar coasters i have ever played thank you dad for buying me this 60 dollar game !!!!!!
