Playable, but not incredible
I dunno, maybe the title it a bit too harsh. Anyway, Pixel star, decent game! There is only so much to be said about this game since it's basically the same thing every time - survive and fight "bosses". As for someone who likes bullet-hell games and flashy colours, this is a good one! In Pixel Star you're basically a space-ship that flies around space trying to kill enemy space-ships and get points, there are chances for a perk to fall of an enemy ship or anything that you destroy really that may upgrade your ship, every so often you'll face a boss and if you happen to defeat it you'll encounter harder enemies. Gameplay is nice alright, you do need a good strong pc to run this game on high settings but on low it basically looks the same and really smooth so it's no problem. Music's kinda weird i'd admit, it took me a few mins for it to dig inside my brain and it was kind of annoying? Maybe someone would like that, not my taste though. I mean, it's a simple game, and it's nice. That's all there is to it really. If you wish to spend your time somehow, this is a good recommendation, it is fun to some extent yet annoying when you lose (obviously). The price is alright, i would say it's worth to buy this game, it's not too expensive, fun, pleasing to the eye (oh boy) and there are no "bad things" about it, i couldn't find any cons.

Pixel Star is basically the classic game Asteroids if everything was cranked to 11. It's... not bad, I'm not going to say I didn't have fun marking off a winning run in 45 minutes of play, but part of the "cranked to 11" is that you often take hits from nearly-invisible things due to the amount of strobe effects and screenshake, or from things that fly onto the screen too fast to be reacted to even if the screen was empty, so it kind of ends up like a preview of the Magic Survival / Vampire Survivors formula from several years later where shooting is important but your stat/pickup grind is moreso. However, I don't particularly think it makes for either a great Asteroids-like game (I'd point to something like Beat Hazard instead) or a great Survivors game (where I'd point to something like HoloCure), so ultimately this is not going to be recommended. It is one of those non-recommendations where I'd recommend trying it out and marking a win quickly if you do own it, though. It should take you under an hour, after all!
It's a lot of fun to play! Though the menus are extremely basic and a bit ugly, the game is very enjoyable and the different power-ups / abilities to choose from, a system similar to Clustertruck, make for an interesting experience on different levels. It runs very fluent and I didn't encounter any lag spikes and, as expected with a game of such simplicity, no bugs either (at least I didn't find any). There is way more to do than in Asteroids and it's more rogue-like than that experience but keeps the basic premise. I would say that if you are looking for a bit of a modernized Asteroids experience, which I suspect most people here are, then this should be more than sufficient. I would recommend it, though a little more work on the main menu could attract a lot more customers but that's not my biz so whatever.
Nice game, I would defenitely recommend it! would be nice if you leave me a steam comment if i could help you! Thanks!
