About
In the middle of the South Pacific: modern pirates are making the waterways that are so important for international trade unsafe. In order to deal with this ever-growing threat, a mercenary group called The Pilgrims appears on the scene, earning their money with protection missions and the passing on of expertise.
Their newest member is Eddie Jackson, a former US Navy SEAL whose wife was kidnapped on a cruise ship by unknown assailants. There seems to be no motive for the attack on the ship and no ransom demand has been made. The player takes on the role of Eddie and embarks on a desperate search for his beloved wife. He fights on the side of the Pilgrims against various pirate and terrorist groups that are making the area unsafe.
Little by little, he discovers more and more clues that lead him to his wife and the incredible secret behind her disappearance. The story comes from the pen of experienced designer Matthew Miles Griffiths, who has managed to write a gripping, deep and intriguing story with several storylines.
Features:
• Extensive story, divided into 20 missions
• More than 20 high-tech weapons from all over the world, from grenade launchers to sniper rifles
• Tropical locations with lush vegetation, sensational water effects and countless interaction possibilities interaction possibilities
• 4 completely individual squad members with their own history and weapon specialization, who fight for the player in certain missions
Pirate Hunter
Mamo możemy Far Cry Mamy Far Cry w domu Far Cry w domu:
Derivative drivel with arcadey gameplay of shooting a lot of pirates in a jungle and on ships. The physics and graphics were decent for its time, but the game itself bored me. Positive note is that it can be finished really quickly. The most of the development time must've been spent on tech and not the game itself.
If farcry 1 was easier and at the same time an arnold schwarzenegger movie I rate this game 7/10 (3.5/5 Stars)
Pirate Hunter is a "janky" first-person shooter that came out in 2009 from DIOsoft, and it's clearly from an Eastern European publisher (seems they've pivoted to web dev, and were based in Romania). While the shooter itself is decent, with many modern Quality of Life improvements such as "rest to heal", "lean to shoot", and a reasonable arsenal (you're limited to melee, pistol, rifle, and special weapons, so 4 classes only), plus grenades and bullet time (called adrenaline mode here, similar to F.E.A.R.). However, boss fights feature auto-healing bosses that made the boss fights almost impossible even on "take it easy on me" difficulty, and several "secret levels" have to be discovered for yourself. Pirate Hunter feature you as Eddie, married to a famous reporter (who somehow is dressed in a swimsuit at all times?) who's about to leave on a 3 week cruise in Southeast Asia to interview an US Navy Admiral and other celebrities. When the cruise ship vanished without a trace, Eddie called in some favors as an ex-Navy SEAL, and got into contact with "the Pilgrims", a mercenary group who operate in the area hunting pirates for profit. As Eddie arrived on the Pilgrim's island base, they were shot at, not by the Pilgrims, but attackers wearing red bandanas... From here on, some of the plot made sense, some of the plot are like WTF? But I won't spoil the fun(ny) parts. You'll have to watch the videos or experience them yourself. Let's just say some parts made no sense based on previous cutscenes, while others are like... Wait, but he's new here... Why does Eddie look like... Max Payne? Anyway, the missions are structured around how Eddie is looking for the cruise ship to save his wife, and wipe out pirates here and there looking for clues. And there is a bigger conspiracy at work... But you don't really play this for the plot, do you? Nor should you play this for proper English sentences. Seems the developers just used machine translation for "localization" instead of hiring a proper firm, so you get "Eddie and friends chopper fallen down after enemy shoot" (or something to that effect). It's rather... entertaining janky English. The graphics are actually not bad, as there is a decent 3D engine back in 2009, that uses NVIDIA PhyX. So explosions will toss object debris and bodies sky high, bodies will ragdoll (and fall off ledges), and so on. So use of grenades and rockets are entertaining... And the squadmates are actually decent shots, even if it really made no sense, as some of them are scoring hits with pistols and shotguns as if they are assault rifles... But then, on easy mode, you can use a Steyr Aug (5.56 assault rifle) as if it's a sniper rifle (the real one has a scope, but it's BARELY magnified), and even a P90 PDW acts like a sniper rifle. You do that sniper file (silenced and regular) sometimes. And even the 44 pistol can kill at assault rifle ranges with a single shot... But again, easy mode. :) Some of the game mechanics made no sense, such as "heal squad member" (yes, even the AI ones), Another game mechanic is ability to swap places with other members (in fact, you can switch to ANY squad member, unless the plot stops you, or the plot auto-switches you to show a different part of battle) There are also a lot of missions that require you to save hostages, and some are plot requirements (i.e. fail that and it's mission fail). And I already mentioned... the bosses auto-heal, so you have to hit them continually, so they can't heal, in order to wear them down. In fact, for the final boss, I have to take his weapon (and he came up with a different one out of nowhere) and shoot him every 2 seconds (while getting hit by his OTHER minions) to wear him down. Anyway, so why recommend it? It's worth... $2.00. There are a lot of levels, and you can discover some "secret" levels if you explore. There are secondary objectives. The autosave checkpoints are at the right spots so you never have to backtrack much. Everything is competent for a 2009 shooter. The only janky parts are localization, plot, and characterization (you'll see what I mean). If they had hired a decent writer and proper artists, it'd be a much better game.
linear shooter stories abit all over the place janky I got it on sale for $1 I cant complain get it on sale
I love this game very, very much. It's a thing from the better times in my life, and I have a lot more associated with the times rather than the game itself, so having this thing up and running is a bit of a time travel thing for me. Having said that, the game itself is as decent as the cheap mid 2000s shouter can get. Smooth and appealing graphics for 2009, the abvility to blow up some houses and watch the roof's boards fly here and there, a fun mode to replace your teammates with hot model gun babes with ballistics and all that. It really has its good sides, and it does get fun from time to time, although you can't expect much from a slavjunk. But as good as it can get, it gets. Kinda sad that you can't go back in time when it was still fresh. But still, a pleasant experience for me. Hope the devs are doing good nowadays, cause boy did they nail it.
Out of the thirteen games in the ULTIMATE SLAVJANK COLLECTION that have been put on storefronts recently, I've played eleven of them, completed eight, and can wholeheartedly recommend only one. Can you guess which one? That's right! It's Pirate Hunter! If you can stomach jank, this is some of the best on offer. Make sure to open the config file and turn off autoaim for the true Pirate Hunter experience. Should I say more? Probably. Will I? No.
Keine Ahnung.
