About
Immerse yourself in the history of Ancient Egypt with 50 missions in Pharaoh™: A New Era, a remake of Pharaoh (and the expansion Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile), one of the best city builders from the golden age of Sierra Entertainment. Stone by stone, build your city and manage all aspects of its development to ensure it prospers and makes you a powerful and revered pharaoh.

Develop your city by cultivating the fertile lands along the banks of the Nile valley. Erect the iconic monuments of Ancient Egypt, including the pyramids, the Sphinx and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Build temples and mausoleums to help manage all aspects of your city's health and culture as well as the predominant polytheistic religion of the time.
Ensure your city is prosperous enough to deal with economic or political crises, or even plundering by enemies. A pharaoh takes care of its people and does whatever it can to earn the favour of the gods.

Pharaoh™: A New Era celebrates 20 years since the release of the famous franchise with a complete remake, including more than 50 playable missions and over 100 hours of gameplay.
The "Campaign" mode teaches you the game basics while allowing you to experience a unique story in the heart of Ancient Egypt. Explore all aspects of life in a thriving city, build and manage all its fundamental elements to ensure it flourishes: the economy, internal and external trade, culture, health, agriculture, education, etc.

The journey back in time is really brought to life with this new version, which upgrades the gameplay mechanics to modern standards and completely redesigns the captivating soundtrack and gorgeous isometric 2D graphics.
Many indicators have also been added or improved: keep better track of the frequency or quality of the Nile's floods with the Nilometer, or don't lose sight of your population's mood with some unique new tools!

I tried this a while back when it was originally released. As a fan of the original, it was missing a bunch of features and I found it way too easy. Now after some patches and with the community bugfixes mod (found on nexus and frequently updated) it's way better and much closer to the original especially in the difficulty aspect (very hard mode feels much more similar to how original felt). Overall, I think the only thing missing for me now is the camera rotation and military aspect (though I don't miss it the latter too much). Overall I can recommend this as a way to play Pharaoh in 2026.
...wie vor 20 Jahren...einfach toll gemacht :)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good old times...
This game makes me feel like a little kid again with its nostalgic music score and story. The graphics has been well improved than the previous version. Hats off to the developers for enhancing the gaming experience while also preserving the integrity of the game.
Great update to the original game, sadly missing the same military element. But still a great game.
Amazing masterpiece of a game. And the remake is great. Saw some people commenting about bugs, but I played almost 40 hours through the campaign smoothly, didn't notice any bugs. I really hope they remake Emperor, Rise of the middle kingdom, that's one of the best games I've ever played.
