An easy game to pick up and satisfying to master. If it's novel spin on the action puzzler genre isn't enough to sell it, the GBC-style presentation featuring crisp, autumnal graphics and delightful 8-bit music makes it irresistible. The fact that there is now also an online mode is very cool and the puzzle modes are infectious, too.
its not a sploosh or a spash, nor a bang or a bash, with these petals, its all CRASH!
Petal Crash feels like a classic game, not just in the sense of the retro styling but in the fact that the gameplay is so clean it feels like someone should have designed something like this years ago. You slide blocks around in a classic ice sokobon way, trying to then combo that into other blocks. You're making your own puzzles and your own problems, under clever competitive pressure. As a bonus, the AI in this game has a fun bit of variance between characters, and the story mode has seriously fun writing that's perfect for this type of mode. It also features basically every kind of mode you'd want for this kind of game, including a well thought out puzzle mode. It might be tuned a little bit more towards the hardcore? But this is also a game with an extremely high skill ceiling so that kind of makes sense, and if you're not a puzzle pro there's still a lot to do. Highly recommended.

I feel a little stupid for picking this one up based on the publisher when generally these games aren't my thing, and I personally am not into it, but the presentation is very charming and I can tell the gameplay is well done. definitely check it out if you like these types of things.
Not a huge puzzle game person but this one is unique and a generally pretty chill time
A prime example for a 1v1 puzzle game of old like Tetris or Dr Mario. And with GB pixel art. Really fun and addicting
really really addictive puzzle mode.
Puzzle gaming is right here. Hop on one of the most intense competitive games in 2026. Story mode is good for chill (and intense) play too, that's what I do. I have more play-time on Switch. it's hard but satisfying to get better, great music and graphics, cool looking sequel in progress
This game is super fun! I really like the mechanic and the puzzle element feels challenging while the head-to-head style adds urgency. The many options for input / controller mean that the game should be more accessible for people with limited mobility. I was surprised by how engaging the story was, and each of the characters felt unique. The music transported me back to old gameboy games. Such a polished piece of work! I grabbed it on sale but it is well worth the full price because there are so many game options and styles.
