Persona® 5 Strikers

Persona 5 Strikers (P5S) is the follow up game from in the persona 5 series after Persona 5 Royal. Without spoilers, P5S acts as a sequel which is very much welcomed. It feels like the game was made to keep the hype going for the P5 crew, so while the story is fun, it never reaches the intensity of its main line predecessor. Instead of the turn based RPG play style the Persona series is known for, P5S is a hack and slash similar to Dynasty Warriors. While the change in game play is fun theory, mowing down shadows with persona abilites, in actual practice it can get really repetitive. You can switch between your team and learn new combos to use in battle, but unlocking all combos can be done so early in game that theres nothing else to learn other than abilities your persona gathers from leveling up. Music in the game is sadly a miss considering the persona series is known for great tracks. The games best tracks are actually remixed versions of last surprise and the boss battle theme in P5R, in my opinion. The new battle them "You are stronger" is not bad, but not up to par. Graphics in the game goes for a new look that isn't up to qualify with P5R, but honestly works really well. I'm a fan of the art direction. What the game gets right is the quality time you spend with your team. It was something I had wished the original felt lacking, but P5S is all that and its really fun. The new characters in the game are great too. Lastly I will talk about how the game runs. I did receive a warning from a friend who tried to run this game, that it would crash on them and they never finished it. I had one instance of the "infinite loading screen". Some cutscenes ran at a crawl for a few seconds and would be fine. Im writing this review on my mac, so I cant attach a pc spec at the moment , but i can say im running a 4080 GPU i7 processor and idk what lol I was able to complete the game with no worries at all of crashing. Overall the P5S brings you more of the Phantom Thieves and its a great time, sadly theres some mediocre game play to go through. If you're a fan of hack and slash games where you can turn your brain off, then this is gonna be a fun one. To me, its a mixed bag, but I had fun with my play through.
