About
After opening a mysterious package, Shinji Ueda finds himself trapped on a deadly island and hunted by his past, with only one choice: survival. Perished Truth is an adrenaline-fueled single-player survival horror game, blending classic "Resident Evil" and "Saw" influences with a highly customizable control scheme.

Shinji's life was shattered after the death of his wife. Desperate to save his terminally ill daughter from sharing the same fate as her mother, he turned to the dark web, crossing paths with forces far more dangerous than he ever imagined. Now, hunted for sins he thought he left behind, Shinji wakes up trapped on a desolate island with other captives, each hiding dark secrets of their own. To survive, he must endure a series of twisted trials... where failure means death.

Perished Truth fuses classic fixed-camera, tank-control survival horror with modernized controls and aiming. Customize your experience to play your way. Explore a forgotten island, scavenge for weapons and supplies, and face off against the infected, and possibly, your fellow captives. Solve environmental puzzles, unlock new paths, and piece together the truth behind your captors... before time runs out and you become one of the infected.

Classic survival horror tension with modernized controls
Fixed camera angles with optional shoulder-camera perspective and first-person aiming
Crafting, inventory management, weapon upgrading, resource scavenging
Twisted puzzles with rewarding outcomes

It’s exactly what it advertises itself to be: a Resident Evil–inspired game with a splash of Saw, and honestly? I love it.The story is solid and does a great job of pulling you forward it makes you want to keep going. The graphics are very decent for an indie title, and the gameplay loop, especially the trials, keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Tension is high, mistakes feel costly, and it stays engaging instead of repetitive. So far, so good,it feels fresh, which isn’t easy in this genre. Now… the bad part.Tank controls paired with this camera feels like a trial itself. At times it’s borderline diabolical. That said, everything else lands really well. Despite the camera sins, the game delivers where it counts. Thumbs up 👍
Need fix. 1. Subtitles issue. Subtitles in the video clips blend into the background. The font needs to be made clearer. Сhange the font to a different one for Cyrillic (Russian). 2. Subtitles issue. In some places, the subtitles are cut off. They don't fit into rectangular frames. Add scrolling. 3. Puzzle issue, First trial: The timer ran out, but the puzzle did not close. The characters were mumbling something, but there were no subtitles. About 10 seconds after the time expired, I solved the puzzle. After that, I closed the puzzle, and everything was fine.
Its a good game so far! Pretty graphics, fun combat, with your classic Survival Horror mechanics. The UI is inspired by the modern Resident Evil remakes. And it is fully voiced, all quite a steal at this pricepoint! This game does have some issues however, and that is in the controls -- it is quantity over quality. You can switch between fixed camera and over-the-shoulder, and also tank controls or modern analogue stick controls. Including gamepad, or keyboard and mouse. But it does none of these well; turn speed is too slow on tank controls, and there's no quick spin. Fixed camera has some weird locations where if you're using modern controls then you will do an unintended 180 and run back into the previous fixed camera location (which can loop), this happened a few times in my limited playtime that I opted for over the shoulder instead. The gamepad controls mostly works great, bit of a nitpick that sometimes instead of using the symbols it will use the words that represent it. The main issue with gamepad is the UI. It has not been optimised for gamepad control, so while you're doing stuff in your inventory, you will be pushing around a cursor with your analogue stick, including the context menu that lets you combine, examine or use. I imagine the UI size, especially for text, will be too small for couch or handheld gaming. There are also issues I found when using KBM. For instance you cannot keybind the interact button, it has to be 'E', which keeps throwing me as I use 'F' in all the games I play. Additionally, I find the map closing with its own button will sporadically stop working.
I didn't realize it was only half the game going into it and was so sad to see the Act 2 announcement at the end because I was so invested in story. I can't wait for the next part! Definitely worth the $10 if you like the genre!
When I saw that this game took inspiration from Saw and Resident Evil, I genuinely expected it to be something I’d enjoy, especially as someone who played the PS3 Saw titles and every Resident Evil game. The initial impression was promising: actual voice acting, a solid atmosphere, and a visually appealing environment. The first puzzle even captured that sense of urgency you get in the Saw games, so I assumed it was setting the stage for more of the same. Unfortunately, that’s where the problems started. The camera and controls were the first major issue. In over‑the‑shoulder mode, there’s no free camera movement at all; it’s locked to either shoulder like the original RE4, which feels outdated. Switching to fixed camera angles didn’t help either. In every other fixed‑camera horror game I’ve played, moving forward stays consistent even when the angle changes, but here, the moment the camera flips, your character suddenly walks in the opposite direction. It was so frustrating that I gave up and stuck with the over‑the‑shoulder view. And to make things even stranger, aiming suddenly shifts to first‑person. I remember Alone in the Dark (2008) doing this, and I disliked it then too. Honestly, I would’ve preferred the entire game just commit to first‑person. The “tank controls” aren’t really tank controls at all. There’s no quick turn, and turning in place doesn’t actually keep you in place, you drift in the direction you’re turning. This made one particular puzzle incredibly irritating because I kept accidentally stepping onto a failure zone while simply trying to rotate. As for the puzzles themselves, none of them felt remotely Saw-like. In the Saw games, puzzles are tense, urgent, and often difficult to complete on the first try. Here, they were simple and dull. Many of the others felt like near‑direct copies of Silent Hill 2 puzzles with only minor tweaks. There’s a big difference between being inspired by something and just replicating it. The objective checkpoint system is also poorly designed. Instead of tracking what you’ve actually completed, objectives trigger based on location. If you re‑enter a room where an earlier objective occurred, it will trigger again, even if you finished it hours before. The protagonist also talks to himself far too often, dumping backstory through random lines instead of letting the narrative unfold naturally through exploration and progression. I really wanted to enjoy this game, but I can’t recommend it. I hope this comes across as constructive feedback—I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this game simply isn’t what it claims to be.

i really liked the game so far, the mix of resident evil and saw works really well... There are modern control options which makes it a smooth experience, but it also offers that old school control scheme inspired by classic RE, so the devs really let you play the way you want one feature I would love to see implemented is a hardcore mode... i wish the devs would add that in the future since it would enhance the replayability of the game. overall, i really recommend this game to any RE fans, its nice to play this while waiting for the next RE to drop
i have been following this game since it was announced, so glad that it was finally released it really didn't disappoint at all, it follows the source material very well and tries to improve on it wherever it can. playing in fixed camera with fps aim really solves the major issues of not being able to see what you are shooting at. my favorite part of the game was the trials, i wish there was more of them
my favorite thing about the game is that it gives you so many options. not only you can choose between fixed camera and behind the shoulder camera, but also you can choose between solving a puzzle to get the shotgun or spending gun parts to craft it. and once you do unlock the shotgun, the game becomes next level of fun, seeing zombies head explodes in a single shot was so satisfying. i really felt like a badass halfway through the game.
