Wow, this game doesn't aged very well, AT ALL. It's a 2008 game (if I'm not mistaken) but honestly it felt way older than that. Other games released during this time were a lot better than this junk. I honestly could not get into both the story and mechanics. The story felt a bit too convoluted (the horrible AI voiceover isn't doing the game any favors either) and the gameplay, while unique in emphasizing terraforming and perimeters gameplay, is just too troublesome and require painfully amount of time to get into. Not to mention the atrocious UI. Urghh.. It's not worth it.
A shame from past
I really tried to love this game back in past when i had a 2-cd edition of this RTS. First Perimeter was a total blast for RTS gaming - a nice mix and match of rts and sort of tactical puzzle first game was my top-fav rts back in days . The second is....complicated. It's just a strategy, covered with nice layer of very overcomplex lore (Perimeter's world quite difficult to grasp place tbh). But....there nothing much left to love There only two factions that barely distinct one from another, graphics and music are decent - mix of quite psychodelic worlds and maps and pretty decent unit models but story is lack of...anything. There many things from Perimeter what were making "Perimeter" a Game is now gone. If you don't know how first game look like and you just want a rollercoaster of old-yet-fancy graphics, dull gameplay and overcomplex story that smell like sci-fi books from 60's - you can give Perimeter 2 a chance to shine but not for long. For players who knew a good taste of RTS , tactics and depth of world and gameplay this game is just mocking of it's more favorable precussor. Expect no patches, no mods, and dull experience. I wish i could recommend this game. But what i liked and endured not many would agree to buy and try. Cheers! PROs -An echo from past. Nice graphics, decent sounds, pretty rad ideas for rts CONS -Everything else - story, voice acting, map and unit design and balance. Verdict - there dozens of people who played and said NO. They were right. Try first Periemeter instead.
I don't say this often about games but this one is bad. Like worse than free games on the internet bad.
No, I dont think the game is worth $15. I think its less valuable than a garbage bag filled with $15 worth of used tissue paper.
Have never seen such inconsistent Mechanics which are basis for the game, waste of time. bad AI.
How do you take a classic title and make a sequel thats so bad? I tried, I spent 5 hours to conclude that it is awful.
Zum Vorgänger auf jeden Fall schlechter geworden und es werden, zumindest über Steam keine Updates gemacht. Mein Spiel ist seit Monaten auf Version 1.0
It isn't what I'd call good.
