Penny Arcade’s “On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4” concludes the saga of Tycho Brahe, Scion of The Long Project, and his almost certainly human partner Jonathan Gabriel. The world has been destroyed, but existence extends beyond this mortal plane in the gruesome Underhell!

🔮 Definitely better than the previous part and now it's.. a «Pokemon» game, but in Hell?! There are more jokes from the characters / environment, fewer literary paragraphs of text describing events. At the same time, the main plot deepened into a separate and more serious independence. The combat system has become better, since now it's not filled with dozens of skills from the start, but has retained variability due to different "pocket" monsters and their trainers. Graphics & music have gone up a notch. Good JRPG, in the spirit of other games from these devs. This whole long story in parts has a rather expected, but still sad ending. Farewell, «Penny Arcade», you'll never be the same again, but you left some good memories.

Penny Arcade'in , Uzun Proje'nin Evladı Tycho Brahe ve onun neredeyse insan ortağı Jonathan Gabriel'in destanını sonlandırıyor. Dünya yok edildi, ancak varoluş bu ölümlü düzlemin ötesinde korkunç Cehennem'e uzanıyor!
This game is awesome. A fitting ending to the series. The story picks up where the third game ended, as our casts thrown into the abyss they have to finish their job of destroying the world and finds out what happened to Tycho in the process. The game itself is improving what the previous games did. Fixing the linearity of the previous game by adding world map and much bigger, unique and interesting dungeons. Music are AMAZING. Totally different from the 3rd game. Characters now aren't involved in battle instead they use demonic spawns they found in the underworld to fight other monsters ala Pokemon. With characters acting as trainers and giving them osnters bonus in stats and skills as they leveled up. Giving some sorts of customization. Jokes are great and the game is bigger and way more epic than the prevs one. If you have finished the 3rd game this game is a must to play.
Awesome game, definitely worth the price! 7/10
EDIT: I changed my evaluation to negative. While all the positive points below are still true, about halfway through the game starts having less interesting dialogue, more boring stretches (the under-underhell part being particularly pointless) and varies things up in combat a lot less. There was even a boring dungeon (Battlegrounds) where all enemies have exactly the same elemental resistance, which you can't target with any of your character until the end of that section. Now I can't wait to be done with the game, it just feels like a linear sequence of mindless battles where I repeat the same actions over and over. ------------- Original review: Really fun RPG even if like me you've not been a big follower of Penny Arcade comics or haven't played the previous Precipice of Darkness games (the previous one also by Zeboyd Games is recommended though, the 1st and 2nd not so much). The story, characters, world and enemies are consistently wacky which kept me entertained so far and sometimes made me laugh (the fake "translated from japanese" part still makes me smile). The combat system is interesting with several Zeboyd staples such as HP/MP and potions always being at max at the start of every fight. You keep getting new abilities at a decent pace. A lot of battles change the rules to shake things up, so you'll rarely get the impression you're bashing on the same kind of enemy over and over. No random fights, either, and dungeon design is super-simple meaning you're unlikely to have to backtrack. This means you don't get the stressful aspect of trying to get your bearings in a huge dungeon while under constant attack and having to manage your resources - which honestly, can be fun if you're in the mood for it - but it also minimizes the amount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you have to go through to get to the next joke, which is what this game is mostly about. You can hold B on the controller to speed up combat animations, which is very welcome - but thankfully there are very few no-brainer fights. The only thing I don't like is that some abilities such as getting a buff on your first turn, after defending or in similar circumstances aren't displayed anywhere in the UI during battle, so you don't have all the info there to help you pick which ability to use. Also, even if you have discovered the elemental weaknesses of some enemies and meet them again, it still only tells you the number of weaknesses, not which one they have. The game could remember that for you instead of forcing you to take notes if you wanna play optimally (I didn't).
Although I enjoyed the first three games, this last episode felt like a chore. The skills system was confusing, the battles and levels felt repetitive. I've chuckled out loud at some of the script, but all in all it's not worth spending 12 hours on.
Not as good as the orignal trilogy, but still amusing.
My 1st time playing this game franchise. Happen to stumble upon a quite a nice one. Appears to be well made so far. Starts out with some catching music and a ridiculous funny plot. The game continues like that throughout the game... and Keeps on giving!! The music is very good and immensive. As for the fights, i have no idea what's happening or what i'm doing, but i just keep on going xD
