Penelope Pendrick and the Art of Deceit

Incredible! This game filled a Nancy Drew shaped hole in my heart. I was stunned at how long the game play was and how good the plot and puzzles are. Julia I have never loved a complete stranger so much then I love you in this moment. Thank you!

This was a fantastic game! It reminded me a lot of the OG Nancy Drew games. It was charming, the mystery was excellent, and there was so much to explore. I really liked the puzzles and honestly everything about the game. Highly recommended!

As someone who grew up playing the Nancy Drew games, I highly recommend this if you're looking for something with a similar feel! It's got all the best parts - the puzzles and food ordering :) I greatly enjoyed this game. Superb voice acting as well! Just got stuck in a really confusing puzzle by the end, but I'm proud to say I never had to use a guide to finish this game! Some things I had to comment on: - I wish I could zoom in on the files in my inventory - I also wish I could rotate the objects in my inventory - The time aspect was kind of dragging - I dreaded having to go back to my room all the time just to adjust the time. Maybe if there was a way to change time right then and there? - Also, this game was set in 2016 and yet Penelope did not own a cellphone? Really? Haha. Other than that, this was a really enjoyable mystery game. Can't wait to play more Penelope Pendrick in the future!

This felt like a true Nancy Drew game. Puzzles, clues, cutscenes, a quippy main character. The storyline is interesting and wasn't predictable. The world feels small at first, but I was happy with the amount of locations you eventually unlock. I could ask for some improvements, mainly in the structure of the game, as sometimes I felt a bit lost because I needed to trigger one sequence of events. Overall, it was a fun playthrough and I used a Steam guide to get through the rough patches. Can't wait to see what this creator does next!

I wanted to like this game, I love nancy drew and have been looking for something to scratch that itch.......this game is not it. Nancy is endearing/albeit sometimes annoying as a character, and penelope does this, but shes a little too sarcastic for me. This game is also set in 2016 which is a choice as no one seems to have a mobile phone or laptop. Why not set the game in the 90s then??!! With Nancy if we get really stuck we can call our friends, but Pen doesnt seem to have any so you are often left floundering as to what to do next as certain dialogues MUST be done in the right order. This makes the game oftentimes baffling as you find out something about a crime, go to call the dumbest cops in the world only for our character to state "don't need to call them"....but we do, AFTER we have triggered more situations, or had a nap. The ENDING....i just gave up to be honest because at this point it was a slog. Again comparing this to Nancy, once we have all the clues we go down to the "solve" route of the game., But not Penelope......here we start going down this route, then we go back to get 1 more piece of info we couldnt have gotten before, then we go further in.....then BACK OUT AGAIN for another scrap of info. IN OUT IN OUT like we are doing some kind of dance! It really stopped being enjoyable at this point. I can see a lot of care when into this game, but it really missed the mark for me. A game shouldnt feel like actual work

If you miss the old school Nancy Drew games you will love this!

I love the old HeR Nancy Drew games and with the last two being so awful, I was really excited to play Penelope Pendrick. The gameplay was similar to ND games, and the graphics/style was similar enough but still significantly different (Mostly for the better) Some stuff I felt was tough to find and took a walkthrough to figure out, but honestly, I'm not too mad about it! I'm so excited for the next one!
