PAYDAY 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that once again lets gamers don the masks of the original PAYDAY crew - Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains - as they descend on Washington DC for an epic crime spree.

**Not Recommended** PAYDAY 2 is one of the most frustrating games I've ever played, not because the core gameplay is bad, but because it's buried under years of bugs, broken mechanics, and technical issues that never seem to truly disappear. It's honestly impressive how a game that's been updated for over a decade can still feel like it's held together with duct tape. The biggest problem is how inconsistent everything is. One heist will go perfectly, and the next will completely fall apart because of a random bug. Guards randomly detect you through walls, objectives refuse to update, AI teammates get stuck doing absolutely nothing, civilians behave unpredictably, and sometimes bags or interaction prompts simply stop working. Instead of feeling like you failed because of your own mistakes, it often feels like the game decided it was your turn to lose. Multiplayer is somehow even worse. Since this game relies so heavily on cooperative play, you'd expect the online experience to be solid. Instead, you constantly deal with desync, failed lobby connections, players getting disconnected near the end of long heists, and bizarre synchronization issues where different players literally see different things happening. Losing 30–40 minutes of progress because the connection suddenly dies is one of the most infuriating experiences imaginable. These kinds of networking complaints have been common among players for years. Performance is another mess. Even on hardware that should run the game without breaking a sweat, you'll encounter random stuttering, FPS drops, freezes, and occasional crashes. Every major update seems to fix one issue while introducing three new ones. The developers themselves have acknowledged that major engine updates can introduce new bugs during testing. The AI deserves special mention because it's genuinely awful. Friendly bots constantly get stuck, ignore enemies standing right next to them, fail to revive you when they're perfectly capable of doing so, or walk into enemy fire like they've never heard of self-preservation. Enemy AI isn't much better, with cops occasionally clipping through objects or behaving in completely nonsensical ways. Then there's the mountain of old bugs that have somehow survived for years. Browse the official bug-report forums and you'll find endless lists of unresolved problems, ranging from crashes and broken objectives to visual glitches and gameplay-breaking issues. It's ridiculous that players have to search forums or install community mods just to make the game feel stable. What's most disappointing is that underneath all these issues is an incredibly fun game. Planning heists, coordinating with friends, experimenting with builds, and pulling off a perfect stealth run can be genuinely amazing. But those great moments are constantly interrupted by technical problems that should have been fixed years ago. Instead of wondering whether your plan will succeed, you're wondering whether the game itself will function correctly. PAYDAY 2 has some fantastic ideas, but after all these years, it's still plagued by bugs, unstable networking, inconsistent AI, and technical problems that make it difficult to recommend to anyone. It's not your skill that determines whether a heist succeeds—it's whether the game decides to cooperate that day. After more than a decade of updates, there's simply no excuse for the game to remain this unreliable. Great concept. Great gameplay. Terrible technical execution.
