About
Your path will lead you to the Worldwound, where the opening of a rift to the Abyss has unleashed all-consuming terror across the land. For over a century, the neighboring nations have fought fearlessly, trying to drive the enemy back — but to little avail.
Now, you have the chance to put an end to this conflict, but the path to salvation is far from clear-cut. Will you become a shining angel, backed by noble paladins? Or a powerful necromancer with hordes of immortal undead in your thrall? Or something else entirely? Lead your army and challenge mighty demon lords. Your crusade will set in motion a chain of events that will leave you — and the world itself — forever changed.
Create any character imaginable with the flexibility, richness, and depth of the Pathfinder First Edition ruleset. Choose from 25 classes, 12 character races, and more than a thousand spells, feats, and abilities to suit your personal playstyle.
Your decisions have more weight than ever before. Your goal is clear, but you must forge your own path to it. Who will die, and who will live? Who will stay, and who will go? Make your choices, and watch the world around you change.
Enjoy two combat modes as you slay your enemies – real-time with pause or turn-based. Switch between them on the fly, so you can always take things as slowly — or as quickly — as you like. The unique Pathfinder ruleset also allows you to perform advanced combat maneuvers, like mounted combat. Use them wisely!
A cast of more than 10 unique companions is ready to join your cause. Earn their trust and respect, and they will have your back no matter what dangers lie ahead. And if you get on their bad side, well… Maybe it’s time to part ways.
You will need much more than a party of adventurers to cleanse the land of its demonic scourge. Take command of the crusaders and lead them to victory – both as a strategist, controlling the battle from above, and as a field commander, in a new tactical combat mode.
Explore nine unique Mythic Paths: obtain extraordinary abilities and shape everything that comes next. Your decisions might transform you into a celestial Angel, a raging Demon, a powerful Lich, a cunning Trickster, an otherworldly Aeon, a rebellious Azata, a wise Gold Dragon, an insatiable Swarm That Walks — or remain mortal and walk the arduous fantasy path toward becoming a living Legend.

Ver fun game, love the storyline and it runs great!!!
THIS GAME DOESN'T RESPECT MY TIME. Is what I'd say, if only the content wasn't sooo good. The story mostly goes where you'd expect given the hints and nudges but the delivery still full of satisfying twists that keep things interesting. Companions and NPCs are interesting thorough the game. Especially Aru, my beloved. Maybe most satisfying romance on rpg I play since Liara on ME. There is A LOT of reading. It genuinely felt like finishing 1-3 books by the end. But that also gives the game lots replayability with all the Mythic Paths and moral choices. The gameplay is crunchy and a lot of fun. Played almost entirely in turn-based mode. Some encounters can drag, and they feel designed with RTWP in mind. Still, the gameplay and story complement each other really well. EXCEPT FOR THAT ONE PART you'll know where. The only lacking part was music i think. It's good at best and serviceable at worst. Would recomended, 9/10. Top 5 RPGs I've played.
Pathfinder's rules are absurdly complicated. BUT the story is fun and the characters are fun, and the turn based tactical play is fun.
A great game, but one that may be too much for a new player.
(Early disclaimer: The launcher/spyware that a few reviews are mentioning was removed as of July 2026, due to negative feedback. Make of that what you will.) I've been playing isometric cRPGs for years now, and I love them. WOTR is no exception. The player freedom is great in Owlcat games, and it shines here with the different paths you're able to go down. The story is interesting, and the characters you run into are all fun. Characters clashing in the party, imo, is more enjoyable than everyone just being best friends instantly. Overall, the game is a massive improvement over the first (Kingmaker), and is a great entry for anyone interested in these titles. ...However. The game's difficulty is rather well known for splitting the playerbase. Some people enjoy it, while others don't. There's a lot of combats in the game, and you're expected to be buffing/debuffing your companions pretty much all the time - mainly in the later acts. You can bruteforce it and play with whatever party makeup you want, but it's clearly designed to have at least one dedicated spellcaster in your party at once. I don't' think WOTR is a good first cRPG, just because of how difficult it can be and how much you have to handle at once. The turn-based mode is amazing, but doesn't fix everything. I think if someone is new to the genre, this is certainly one to come back to - but getting an understanding of how cRPGs plays (and possibly Pathfinder) first is almost necessary.
It's very cool the game! Respect!
