About
In PARKSIDE, the future of biomechanical subterfuge and suffering is revealed through the story of Alexander Petrovich, an unemployed hacker who is kidnapped by a mysterious group known as the Illuminated Brethren of Conclave Automata.
Will he bend to the will of the Brethren and aid in realizing their vision for humanity, or will he take the hand of a guardian angel? Though, no matter his choice, a sinister voice in his head warns that judgement is inevitable.
PARKSIDE is a First Person Shooter / Immersive Simulation, with a focus on freedom, choice, and consequences.
Set in the fictitious city of Abbotsford, California in the year 2038, the world the player experiences is the result of four years of shrouded meddling by the Illuminated Brethren - the environment is cold and unforgiving, the people are drab and demoralized, narcotics and gangs are rife, and military police walk the streets. How has it come to this?
Following his capture by the Brethren, Alexander is interfaced with an experimental combat platform known as POLYPHEMUS. Through a piece of technology called the Remote Combatant Viewer, he is sent to complete illicit, dangerous missions for the Brethren, whose directives come from the mysterious Divine Rod.
Many tools are at the player's disposal to tackle problems including a roster of futuristic weapons, armaments such as EMP grenades and frag mines, and abilities that can be used to navigate all manner of obstacles. You can hack or bypass keypads, security cameras, turrets, and robots... or shoot them to bits - pick your poison and run with it as you navigate smoky streets, dark alleys, airy vents, and secret bases.
Choices matter - in the secret fight for control of the precious lives of all citizens, there are many powerful stakeholders. There is one important question with many answers and outcomes: are you a servant of the Divine Rod, Alexander?

Over all a solid im sim so far.
I like it a lots, but it just came out so ofc its not perfect. The game runs like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and its quite buggy, for example some guards pop in and out of existence. Probably gonna wait a bit before I resume playing it, hopefully by then the game runs better. Other then that, I really like it :p
I like the music and art style. Couldn't get past the jank, the gameplay just wasn't fun and the levels felt big just for the sake of it.

More coherent than Cruelty Squad, with some great ideas.
I don't approve of bananas unless they are hard soft
pretty damn good, a few bugs at the moment but nothing you couldn't look past. a lot of people are complaining about the no quick saving thing, which I can see why, but honestly with the elixir save points you can get by pretty easily without it. I see people saying they're saving them for the perfect moment, but I'm not sure what they mean by that when there's only ever one moment to use the elixir on each level, it doesn't make a save point per say, you don't restart at that moment when you used it, you just get pulled out of whatever dangerous situation you were in. The levels aren't as big as people want to say they are, they just seem that way. Don't worry about 100% exploring everything right away, just play the game normally first and save the completionism for a second playthrough. open combat is tough and unforgiving so don't go into this thinking you can just run and gun like in Cruelty Squad. the controls don't feel amazing at first, but after a while you get used to it. only thing I don't like is how look sensitivity is split between X and Y and have separate sliders for each axis. its just annoying.

You should buy this.
Cruelty Squad's slightly less unstable cousin. Worth a buy for the price.
I really enjoy the story and setting this game takes place. It's quite cool the different routes you can take depending on choices, and I love how you slowly discover the Brethren's true goals and motives as time goes on, and how Alexander is affected by them. Also love the soundtrack (Clive Square is one of my favorites!) Great game overall!
