About
Cyberscape is a single-player FPS with RPG elements set entirely aboard a massive space station. Inspired by the deliberate pacing and mechanical depth of classic 90s shooters, the game focuses on exploration, character progression, and tactical combat within a single interconnected environment.
The station is owned and controlled by a ruthless corporate Syndicate that treats people as expendable assets and ethics as optional expenses. Behind polished executive decks and carefully worded public statements, the Syndicate is pursuing projects that were never meant to withstand scrutiny.
Your objective is simple: infiltrate the station and put an end to it.
Multiple playable operatives - each with unique strengths, limitations, and playstyle implications
Large hand-crafted levels - massive multi-level maps with multiple routes, hidden paths, unexpected dangers
Skill progression - earn EXP and improve the abilities you actually rely on
Tactical combat - choose an appropriate tool for the job
Immersive elements - crawlspaces, keycard-gated areas, breakable walls, secret levels
Varied enemy design - soldiers, mutants, drones, automated defenses, security cameras, experimental threats
Meaningful replayability - different character builds unlock different playstyles
Exploration - your map of the station is filled automatically as you explore
Stealth mechanics - loud solutions tend to escalate things
No hand-holding - the game respects your intelligence, like in the good old days
Cyberscape ships with the same tools used to build the game.
Integrated level and scenario editor
Fully data-driven architecture for all game content
Steam Workshop support from day one
Support for everything from small balance tweaks to total conversions
Modding is not an afterthought. It is part of the design.
Cyberscape is developed by AtomicTorch Studio, an independent team with over a decade of experience building games on Steam. Known for CryoFall and VoidExpanse, the studio focuses on deep, open-ended mechanics, technical robustness, and long-term value and replayability.

Cyberscape is a grid-based FPS. It is labeled as an "immersive sim" with "open-ended level design", with an inventory system. As far as the FPS aspects go it works alright, but thats largely all the game has at the moment. The stages are flat and grid-based, similar to the original Wolfenstein. Everything exists on this grid - even placeable objects always occupy the center of a tile, giving the stages a bit of a rote appearance after awhile. As for the imm-sim elements they don't exist at all. Upgrades do not seem to grant any additional access or alternative routes through stages. For example, the electronics skill simply extends the duration of the powerups you can find. At max level you become invisible to security cameras - in five levels, I don't think I ever saw a security camera, so I'm not sure what its use is (if any at all). You can enter vents, but you can do those without a skill. I sort of expected alternate pathways to open up to me depending on where I explored, or at least what my build allowed me to do, and that's not present here. There are no doors to hack, no lockboxes to unlock/pick/etc, no alternate solutions to the problems in front of you. On that topic, all loot is scattered about on the floor - again, occupying the center of each grid tile - and the level design has to account for you having 0 points in Firearms so your reward for finding a secret area is typically just ammo. Ammo in the form of weapon pickups, and at a meagre 5 inventory slots (with ammo maximums as well) you may be leaving a lot of ammo behind. Which is fine, you can make your way back to them, but it does take a lot of the thrill out of finding a secret area when its only payoff is 4 copies of the same gun you already have max ammo in. Further, the level design is interesting. Some facets are neat (like the interconnected levels in some areas) but others are especially painful. Why is 80% of hydroponics a long back-of-the-cereal-box maze of corridors with the same enemy and shotgun copy-and-pasted everywhere? That level could be a quarter of the size and achieve the same result. Especially when tossing a single grenade alerts the majority of the enemies in the area and you kill them all in one place, so you're left walking through empty hallways picking up ammo and punching walls and grates. Enemy design is sort of thin. You have enemies that walk towards you in a variety of ways to punch you, and enemies that walk towards you in a variety of ways to shoot at you. Sometimes, they don't move at all and shoot at you. There's no pitch variation, so alerting a room full of the same soldier enemy rewards you with a chorus of the same grunt sound effect. Enemies don't make idle noises or wander about either, they wait patiently in place until they spot the player, then walk towards them until they get in range. That is, unless you step through a doorway - then the AI will stop dead in its tracks and wait patiently for you to return to the room. As an FPS RPG, Cyberscape does some neat things and could probably stand on its own. As an immersive sim however it unfortunately stumbles hard in its level design, AI and skills. Ultimately the diferences in your build will amount to which weapons do more damage, what your bases stats are, and how long powerups last. It could benefit from a review of how these skills fit into the world and ways that they might offer alternative paths, because as it stands this isn't really an immersive sim at all. You have upgrades, yes, but that is what makes it an RPG. I'm not occupying a world with rich simulation aspects. You're basically a walking turret which can choose between +6% firearm damage or +50% powerup duration. Some additional feedback: - Its been mentioned elsewhere, but a dedicated punch button would be a nice QOL feature. - Movement speed is sluggish, especially with as large as some levels are and the potential backtracking. - SFX for hitting enemies with attacks would give combat a better feeling. - Likely a bug, but Accuracy is modified by whether you're holding shift or not, not how quickly you're moving - even if you're not actually changing your movement speed (such as when crouching in a vent). Unfortunately, I think the game does itself a disservice by being labeled as an immersive sim, and I don't think that the FPS experience is all that gripping. I don't think I'll refund it, but I don't see myself returning to the title at this stage in development. Here's hoping that it evolves into something greater in the future.
Nowadays there's a boomer-shooter to fit any specific taste. This one is distinctly Zero Tolerance-flavoured. To those for whom that sounds like an endorsement, getting this game should be a no-brainer.
I really love this game, it reminds me of the kind of games we used to play as kids, like Zero Tolerance on the Sega Genesis, but with RPG elements similar to System Shock. The visuals are clean and don’t feel cluttered, the levels are well-designed, and there’s a great variety of weapons, items, skills, and unique effects. The bosses are also really fun and memorable. I think this game can appeal both to older players who grew up with classics like these, and to newer players who may not be familiar with this style.
Feel Duke Nukem vibes from my childhood! Awesome pixel graphic, suspenseful music, ememies waiting for you around corner and overall atmosphere keeps you involved. Variety of weapons from bare fists to laser guns and exploding rats. Monsters jumpscaring every now and then don't let you get too chill. Enjoyed the game! Spend your ammo wisely.
Finally someone saw the potential and brought back Zero Tolerance! Games like this is what the industry should be about. Not just bringing back a classic but making it intuitive and better in everyway... except for the "shotgun collected" voice... The Sega Genesis did better in that department Lol I can't believe this game exists! I was always a huge fan of the original game on the Sega Genesis. I still remember the commercial Lol. If you're a Zero Tolerance fan, you're going to love this game! Zero Tolerance was a flawed game but the people who played it back then still remember it for its unique atmosphere and feeling. It was actually a really fun game... but takes a nose dive after about the first 10 levels or so. I'm glad someone took that concept and made it better. Adding RPG elements would've also been a great addition to the original game so Cyberscape is an improvement on so many levels. Well worth the $11.99 I paid. One of the best things I've seen all year. I can't wait for Cyberscape 2! It would be nice if Cyberscape 2 had Living Quarters throughout the Station for NPCs. In these areas there would be Shops to Buy items and Facilities to learn and Upgrade Skills. Also you would be able to get Quests from these areas and Hire Soldiers/Medics, Etc to tag along. I would love for there to be even more RPG elements in the 2nd one. I want to thank the Developer(s) for making this game. THANK YOU! I play some of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr92HF9-lfY&t=1946s
I was reminded of my childhood ))) a big plus to the developers for the nostalgia!)) I just can’t remember that I need to save the game — I should really do that; I’ve died way too many times on the second level.)) The hidden rooms are absolutely awesome! You walk around the level like a treasure hunter, searching for them — it’s so cool that the game shows you how many percent of the map is uncovered! It’s also a neat feature that you can see the number of enemies on the floor.) Some of the weapons are a bit disappointing, though… But overall, it’s great — I had a blast! I’ve recommended the game to my friends.
So... I’ve got this retro shooter with pretty decent editor and hints of deep RPG system for the next to nothing price. Visual and audio design are spot on, good variety of guns, enemies and environment. Yeah, it’s clearly an Early Access game, but its already contains 2-4 hours demo-campaign with beloved nostalgia vibe. Somehow reminds me not only Zero Tolerance, but Alien Trilogy from PSone era. Good stuff overall I can say. P.S. Will be checking progress on this one. Good luck to the team and for god sake fix those foot step sound))
