PAPER BIRDS

Nothing was done to improve this app for high-end VR - this is a 100% Quest port. Thus the app was made for the extremely slow Quest gpus. I get solid 90 fps using Index res 500% - so nothing to chew on here for the RTX 3090. Animations are choppy, many textures are very low-res, and you can see many low-poly assets. Support this app, if you want to support the destruction of great PC VR experiences, and if you like VR experiences made for ultra-low-end phone gpus - or just want to support Facebook's Quest road to the VR bottom. Unfortunately I love high-end VR - like Alyx - and I can't and won't support Quest games and apps, unless these have been significantly enhanced for high-end VR. I have refunded Paper Birds.

[h1]Experienced on the HP Reverb G2[/h1] PAPER BIRDS is a 30 minute 360 degree cinematic short for VR with some interactions. You will need to play this on a swivel chair or standing as action will happen all around you and sometimes right in front of your eyes so you may want some room to be able to lean back as well. You can move & turn in your room-scale but there is no locomotion & there is no smooth or snap turning. It stars the voice talents of Edward Norton, Joss Stone, & Archie Yates so the voice actors are top-notch. The musical soundtrack is excellent, as well as the spatial audio. The story is a bit on the short side and therefore, lacks depth. However, given it's only 30 minutes long, I guess that's to be expected. Nonetheless, the story is engaging from start to finish. I think this story is one that can be equally enjoyed by adults and kids, although it may be a bit too dark for little ones. If you're concerned that this is a Quest-port, don't be. It looks great in PCVR. There were a few low resolution textures on some objects, but most scenes looked great on my HP Reverb G2. However, the animations were not always smooth and I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not (like maybe a stop-animation type look). It made it look like maybe the game was stuttering, but it was not, it was just the animation style. The interactions, especially at the end, were impactful. I kind of felt like I was in Fantasia and I was conducting this magical, sparkly orchestra. Experience is running on the Unity Engine. It was running at a steady 90 fps on my RTX 3080. The only issue I experienced is selecting scenes was not very responsive on WMR and took several attempts to work properly. Paper Bird ist ein VR-Kurzfim aus dem Jahre 2021 von 3DAR und hat genau wie Gloomy Eyes einige Preise abgeräumt. Seit einiger Zeit ist die wunderschöne Erfahrung auf auf Steam erhältlich. Besitzer der hauseigenen VR-Brille Index können aber leider nur über Umwege in den Genuss dieses Trickfilms kommen. Die Indexcontroller werden dämlicherweise nämlich nicht unterstützt. Der ganze Film dreht sich förmlich um den Zuschauer herum, der so immer wieder neue Perspektiven auf das bewegte Diorama hat. Wenn der Film beginnt, sehen wir wie um uns herum die Welt entsteht. Natürlich können wir nicht mit der Umgebung interagieren, aber später im Film gibt es kleine musikalische interaktive Szenen. Die Welt ist wunderschön, und die Liebe zum Detail in Umgebung und bei den Figuren lässt diesen Animationsfilm sehr lebendig wirken. Der Film ist nur auf Englisch und Spanisch, aber mit jeweiligen Untertiteln. Die Synchronisation der verschiedenen Personen ist klasse und gut verständlich. Hat man das richtige HMD oder Controller bekommt man einen tollen Kurzfilm der dann das Geld wert ist. Auf Index nur mit Vive-Controllern zu starten. The wonderful experience has been available on Steam for some time. Unfortunately, owners of the in-house VR goggles Index can only enjoy this animated film in a roundabout way. Stupidly, the Index controllers are not supported. As so often in such cases, I was able to help myself with my old HTC Vive controllers. This made it possible to run the movie on the Index and I saw ... ... Toto a little round, highly musical boy, just like his grandfather Robert. But when his sister is abducted into the darkness by the so-called shadows, Toto has to go after her to save her. The film tells the story of Toto's journey and the dark secret his grandfather is trying to hide .... The film by director Federico Carlini and writer German Heller is a successful VR experience that literally puts us right in the middle of the world of Toto and his family. The entire film literally revolves around the viewer, who is constantly presented with new perspectives on the moving diorama. When the movie begins, we see the world around us take shape. Of course we can't interact with the environment, but later in the movie there are small musical interactive scenes. The world is beautiful, and the attention to detail in the environment and characters makes this animated movie feel very alive. The movie is only in English and Spanish, but with respective subtitles. The dubbing of the various characters is great and easy to understand. If you have the right HMD or controller, you get a great short film that is well worth the money. On Index only to be started with Vive controllers. Watched it on my HP Reverb G2 and it's definitely one of the best VR experiences I've had. Everything from the visuals to the sound were wonderful. 10/10 well worth $6.

这款游戏也上架了pico商城，就是《纸鹤》。 感谢pico的推动，才有了这款动画的中文配音。 由于我有小派水晶light，就来买了steam版本，为了看这个超清纯黑的效果。 此作品拿了好多奖，流程不长，完全没有恐怖元素，特效在一众互动动画里也算第一梯队了（虽然还有较大进步空间），非常适合给普通人体验。 虽然主页写着“不支持简体中文”，实际上是有中文配音的，放心入手。

IMPRESIONANTE, ya tuve la oportunidad de jugar Gloomy Eyes, son estas experiencias las que muestran el verdadero potencial de lo que es el VR, PIEL DE GALLINA con la banda sonora hermano, 10/10 la mejor compra que hice en mi vida. Excelentísimo trabajo del team, una experiencia única.

I absolutely loved Paper Birds. The combination of the unique story, visuals, and music in this piece make it an enrapturing VR experience. Highly recommend it if you enjoy VR stories and experiences that give you a heavy hit of emotion and fun.
