Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/t2vFnGgFWpw Madrid Noir is a little less than 45 minute mostly cinematic experience with some light interactions. The interactions are basically grabbing some objects, using a camera, or pointing a flashlight. There is an intermission about halfway through the experience. You can play seated or standing, but I recommend standing because the action does happen 360 around you and you'll need to quickly turn around. Experience is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting steady 90 fps and I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. There is no locomotion or turning (you turn IRL). There are only a few settings available, including language, avatar hand skin color, and audio options for voice / music levels. I enjoyed the high-end production values here. The animations & set pieces here are top-notch. The musical soundtrack is awesome. The VOs are very well done. I also thought the writing was nice. I would definitely say this is one of the better VR animated experiences. However, I would not say it is in the top-tier of such experiences, but maybe a step or two below. Also of note, although this may appear like an experience perfect for families, beware that there are depictions of violence (cartoon violence). So it may not be right for the little ones. However, I think most adults or older kids would enjoy this experience if you are okay with an animated light-hearted story, not exactly on par with Pixar but still nicely put together. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
English: -----------------------------------> Madrid Noir, a short minimal interactive film by No Ghost and Atlas V - who already gave us Gloomy Eyes. Madrid Noir is the story of Lola Petit, an adult woman who clears out her uncle's apartment and is confronted with her past. After a leap in time into Lola's past, we experience the events that led to her uncle's supposed disappearance. We stand or sit as if in a theater and in front of us or around us the scenarios of the story build up. We can only interact with a few objects. As is so often the case, the angle of the index controllers does not match the hands that are displayed. When will the developers finally think about this? It's not really bad, though, because there's not really much for the viewer to do. We can hold photos and pass them over to Lola or have to wave around with a flashlight, which only hovers in the picture anyway - i.e. without hands. Finger tracking is also out, of course. We also have to do without movement in the scenarios. We stand or sit at a fixed point. The graphics are on the level of an early Pixar film and unfortunately the textures are not always high-resolution. This is probably due to the fact that this film was originally programmed for Zuckerberg super glasses. On PCVR, of course, you could have gotten much more out of the engine. Well, thanks for nothing metabla. However, the scenarios are nicely animated and detailed as well. The movie is available in three languages, and those who speak some English French or Spanish should be able to follow the dialogs. The whole movie lasts about 45 minutes. Madrid Noir is a nice little story. VR movie fans and lovers of animated movies will definitely find joy in watching the story of Lola. 👀Mysteriously Disappeared Reviews can be found on my curator page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
Nice little detective story about mysterious uncle. It is not a game, more like an experience, with few small interactions. Played on HP Reverb G2 with Index controllers. I had to lower resolution to 50% (otherwise the game crashed right after launching) but it still looked great and sharp and felt like it is still at 100% resolution.
The story is enjoyable but i think it's music, animation and art design that really make this a great interactive movie. Worth the money as this the best VR animation i have watched so far.
Was ist damals wirklich vorgefallen? Less of an adventure game and more of a short film in virtual reality with a few minutes of gameplay. Animation is great, and the story is a splendid spy thriller combined with some emotional voice acting that brings it all together into a fun experience. I'm not sure there's an allure here to sit through it more than once, but if you're a fan of animations and feeling like you're part of the film - this might be for you.
Madrid Noir is a VR interactive animated movie that is paid program. It worked on my HTC Vive system with RTX 2070 super and Index with RTX 4070 Ti Super, looked ok, sounded ok, played ok, was understandable. No help or instructions in-game, make assumption you know your way around VR. Has 3 languages to choose from: English, French and Spanish. Has some interactive objects to use to move the story along or to play with. Was a wonderful story with a good plot. Has a 45 minute runtime. You have only play space movement, the story will move you where it needs you to be. You might wanna be standing for this one, the movie goes all around you. You have a choice of 5 hand colors. The voice over in English was good. Not sure what the French and Spanish version are like, but i guess the be of same quality. Has cartoon Violence. Has good animations and textures. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. This curator group Maybe worth a buy on sale or at normal price.
Madrid Noir is an interactive VR experience telling the story of a young girl named Lola as she pretends be a detective around the city of Madrid, during the summer she lives with her weird uncle. As the story unfolds and clues reveal themselves, the stakes are raised dramatically and there is a great on-foot chase sequence. The story is super cute, with a lot of very nice animation to match the excellent voice acting. For those that haven’t seen a VR experience before, they’re pretty straightforward. They will almost always be less than an hour’s worth of narrative content where players engaging in the story through minor interactions. These often are things like pushing buttons or pointing items at the action. Sometimes these are optional, but I find they help add to the sense of presence of the films. Madrid Noir, for example, had a scene where we had to aim a flashlight in the dark to help Lola find her way before it would proceed to the next scene. It’s worth noting that this particular experience did require players to stand so that players could turn in the directions the experience wanted us to be in, to see the characters. I find this kind of setup to be demanding and rude towards its audience- Snap rotation is a standard across almost all of the VR industry, so I don’t know why a developer would choose to exclude the feature when it means the difference between a seated or standing game. Accessibility matters, even in VR, people! I really did adore the experience, however. Lola and her uncle were great, and I love the animation style so very much. This wasn’t the studio’s first VR experience, as they have previously produced Battlescar and Gloomy Eyes. I can tell Madrid Noir was made by a team of professionals, and I am hoping for more along these lines of quality. Recommended.
Bewertung in Zahlen
Grafik: 8/10 Sound: 8.5/10 Spieldesign: 8/10 Content Umfang: 7/10 Balance: 8.5/10 Story: 8/10 Atmosphäre: 8/10
Mein Fazit:
