Pandora: First Contact is a science fiction 4X turn-based strategy game on a planetary scale. Our Earth has been exhausted and colonial attempts on other planetary bodies have been in vain. Finally, after decades of exploration, an interstellar probe has brought promise of a new world.

Zu leicht, macht nach 2 Std kaum noch Spaß!
This is a small studio's attempt to make alpha centauri work in the style and presentation of Civ V. It has flaws but Ultimately i think it's worth a look, especially on sale. The economy/city management is very simplistic, but it has features unique to other 4x games. Food and minerals, a precursor to production, are national resources rather being stuck in the city it comes from. This allows cities to specialize in ways that would be impossible in most 4x games. Unfortunately, that's all there really is to city management. There is no culture or great people, or other features to add depth. The AI is brutal. This is the main cause for complaints. You cannot play this game like civ, where a single archer is sufficient for home defense. You cannot ignore your neighbors and wonder-pump to exponential growth. The AI will declare war at the first sign of you pulling ahead, especially if you maintain a small army. An aggressive expansion, a lead in population, or any other advantage can draw the attention of your foes. Once one AI declares war, others may smell blood in the water, starting a cruel cycle that loops until it's you against all your neighbors. It's brutal, but it makes sense. The only way to avoid it is to be stronger than them. If you do not heed my warnings, you will actually struggle to pull ahead in this game. Once you understand this system, it makes this game rather interesting to play.
Huge map is tiny. Real tiny. Don't expect much exploration. Aliens, more aliens, even more aliens. The AI cheats with the many hands of Vishnu. This is not a game. This is abuse. Firaxis did this better 30 years ago.
This one of the greatest games of al time
NO, THIS IS NOT RELATED TO JAMES CAMERON'S AVATAR, THIS IS A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE. My playtime shows only 5 hours, but in reality, I've spent over 100 hours on another account. This game definitely scratches that SMAC itch and feels like one of its spiritual successors—though more like a bastard child, thanks to its jankiness. There is not much else to tell, it's a decent CIV 5 clone with its own on spin the "outsider" faction.
Bon Jeu
I thought this game was OK, but I gave up soon enough with AI that harasses you into making trade agreements that benefit AI more than the player. This is not specifically bad AI, but a function of a stated ruleset that the developers say is disadvantageous to the computer on normal mode.
play like x4 game with a range of difficulties
I normally don't post reviews, but can't sit on the sidelines for this one. Pros: * Great graphics * Friendly UI * 4X Cons: * Everything else Like many other reviewers have stated: the game is horribly unbalanced. The AI will have tech 4 times more advanced than you within 20-30 turns and then they free-for-all you the rest of the game. You no longer spend time growing and advancing - you are on the defensive, getting your arse handed to you at every turn. Your production and growth grind to a halt. Everything starts depleting and before you know it you've lost everything you've worked for. I walked away from the game for a while and thought I'd give it another try. I bought Eclipse of Nashira hoping maybe the devs balanced the AI. It was even worse. If you enjoy losing to AI that advances far faster than you do so that you eventually throw in the towel and are forced to give up: this game is for you. And as soon as you think you have a good game going that feels promising: just wait 10 more turns. That will change. If you prefer longer survival chances: stick with Civ: Beyond Earth. A more balanced AI would make this game great, but I just can't recommend it because there is no chance of ever winning, no matter what settings you use. Uninstalled and will never play again. Don't waste your money.
