Pandora: First Contact is a science fiction 4X turn-based strategy game on a planetary scale. Our Earth has been exhausted and colonial attempts on other planetary bodies have been in vain. Finally, after decades of exploration, an interstellar probe has brought promise of a new world.

Huge map is tiny. Real tiny. Don't expect much exploration. Aliens, more aliens, even more aliens. The AI cheats with the many hands of Vishnu. This is not a game. This is abuse. Firaxis did this better 30 years ago.
This is a great little 4X, very in the vein of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
Well to be fair, nothing can replace SMAC. Not even Civ:BE. But this game comes closer to SMAC than CivBE because it has Unit Workshop, and that retro-styled charm, as well as those quirks and balancing issues. It can actually scratch that SMAC itch more than BE in my experience. People complain about the AI, and that is true. One turn they asked for non-aggression pack, two turns after they declared war - and that's on Easy difficulty. BUT. If you came from SMAC, there is nothing new there. You can still apply the same strategy (build as much as possible, with bases as close as possible, then make as much units as possible then pummel them down). There's really no need for peace anyway. I play SMAC all the time and peace is nothing more than a temporary cease fire. Don't worry, no-one will declare war on you when you have double their firepower, but then again, why keep them alive, right? However, if you came from other Civ games with those diplomacy thing, trade thing, religion thing, etc., then boy you have yourself something coming. There's only war here, brother. Ignore all aspects of the game. Research the strongest units and weapons, build them as fast as possible, throw in LOTS of artillery units, then go siege some base. Same SMAC strategy. :)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A decent 4X game. Light weight and very cheap too.
Шкода, що немає української. Англійською не все зрозуміло але розбираюсь потрохи. Загалом непогано по акції. Гра непогана але враховуючи вік гри, повну ціну не віддав би. Але гра цікава для любителів звісно але цікаво.
Although a fully competent 4X game at core mechanics, two things really hold it back - the lack of any meaningful constraints on city spam, and an AI that doesn't care about diplomacy and will declare war on you the second it makes a naive calculation that it can win. If you want to play this game in any way other than conquest, you're out of luck, because one of the AI will eat all the others, then through sheer size decide to go after you. Speaking of combat, it does a decent job evoking the mechanical spirit of Alpha Centauri, but in the process just manages to show off why 4X games have mostly moved on from this style of combat, which just makes the game's trigger-happy AI focus the game on its weakest aspect. It allows infinite stacking, but units attack out of and attack into stacks individually, so beyond shielding weaker ranged units there's little incentive to cluster up, because the game makes the poor decision to let you build an orbital strike per city on a short cooldown that hits every unit in a stack. This also makes invading incredibly difficult, since transport units can be destroyed by a single orbital strike, two tops. Ultimately, the greatest sin this game commits is that, despite aping many of the mechanics of Alpha Centauri, its plot and lore simply fall far short even of Civilization: Beyond Earth, much less SMAC. If you're jonesing for more of SMAC, I'd recommend just playing that instead.
i hate this game so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much. im not retarded, even on easy every single time, like 3 will declare war on you and very rapidly have a ♥♥♥♥ load of troops and surround you and keep attacking again and again.
Did anyone else think this was something totally and completely different based upon the title of the game alone? Ngl I was confused--maybe y'all will have better experiences than me, ugh.
I want more of this, like specifically this universe please
