This game is fun, really fun and even if it is in early access it is long enough to justify the purchase. PROS: 1- The art style is kinda cool and it is a mix beetween an old style shooter (doom, exen) and quake/ unreal. 2- Movement and weapons feeling is awesome! You can move in the middle of the tons of enemy without no effort at all and blast them away 3- The gore, damn there is a lot of blood :) 4- The game doesn't let you satop at any moment, and it is incentivated by the fact that there are no pickup other than the ones dropped by the mobs, so if you are dying you need to push and kill more monsters to make them drop ealth for example. 5- Music is really good CONS: 1- Some of the later maps feel a bit empty (still early acces tho) 2- Ones you get used to the aggressivenes of the gameplay it becomes a little too easy. Finished it 2 times already :)) 3- no dismembrements :(( (only the head gets detached from the body) In the end I'd say at this price every boomer shooter fun should buy it :)
I am writing this review because the game has surprised me, and I was saddened not to see other reviews. So, I want to help the developer move forward with his work because, in my opinion, the game could become something big. Palladium is fast, frenetic, challenging, and hardcore. Considering it was developed by just one person, the result is remarkable, especially considering some ideas I have rarely (or never) seen in this genre of video games, like interconnected levels and enormous amount of enemies on-screen. The gameplay is simple but effective: run, shoot, and jump. If you stop, you lose. It's easy to learn but difficult to master, and that's what makes it cool. Surviving the massive waves of enemies is satisfying, and the level of enjoyment is similar to what I experienced while playing doom eternal. I also really liked the possibility to upgrade weapons and explore the levels in search of skill points to purchase these upgrades. Playing in hard mode, it took me just over 5 hours to complete the only chapter available in the early access. Considering that the final version is expected to have a total of 3 chapters, we can expect a total of 15 hours of gameplay (at least for my playstyle), which, in my opinion, is more than enough for this genre. If you are a fun of boomer shooter, i think that the price is worth the candle. The ost is cool and the graphic style is insteresting. Of course, being in early access, the game has some issues, but nothing that cannot be fixed. For example, sometimes, you find yourself in very large and empty areas, or occasionally, after finding a key, you have to backtrack through the entire level, which I found a bit boring. I really liked the idea of upgrades, but some of them didn't seem very useful to the gameplay or interesting. So, in my opinion, a bit of imagination is needed to improve this aspect of the game (but I repeat, nothing serious). Here and there, I encountered some graphical glitches, but nothing game-breaking. One last thing: I noticed that the developer is open to listening to suggestions or feedback. in fact, I reported a couple of bugs, and he promptly fixed them.

I'm not the biggest boomer shooter player but I was caught by the visual: the mix between hand drawn pixelated sprites with 3D simply works and are interesting. As soon as I started playing I was instantly caught by the gameplay and time passed very quickly while playing. Very dinamic and challenging but manageable on easier difficulty level. Levels are big and interconnected that is a nice and interesting feature. I'm curious to see how it evolves, and for sure I want to recommend it now.
Didn't enjoy this at all. Encounters are waves of the same handful of enemy types that go on WAY too long to be fun, boring weapons with REALLY slow moving projectiles which enemies routinely strafe out of the way of - unless it's one of the many enemies that just runs in a straight line to you, boring level design. Just... sucks.
(Will update as I go along) So far palladium is proving to be a polished, well-made, solo-developed project and most importantly super fun shooter that doesn't just draw from shooters from the past but actively expands upon them. So far my one bit of feedback is that the UI needs a bit of polishing, but even with slightly hard to navigate UI this game is still an absolute blast to play, and the developer has been very active regarding fixes, quality of life improvements and more!
Fast, simple and aestethically pleasing, while being quite original. Early access content is pretty solid for a single developer and i have good vibes about this product! Very fun!
I thought this was a little indie game but since the beginning you can clearly see the effort that was put into that. The game plays like a mix between doom and quake: you have a lot of freedom of movement and using such options are necessary to survive what may seem a quite hardcore game. I personally like the visuals but they may appear a bit barebone even if they work great with this unique artstyle. Blood and gibs are detailed and unique to each enemy (and also exaggerated). I really appreciated that some of the secrets need a bit of platforming, a nice change of pace from time to time to take a break from the carnage that makes for the rest of the game. Tiny details like that right number of bullets shown on the weapon or the fact that enemies of the same type have different “models” make me want to recommend it.
Nice game. right away you understand the level of difficulty and frenzy, very frenetic. considering the work done by a single independent developer I think it's a title to keep an eye on and support.
Frenetico e diretto, ma abbastanza complesso da non essere banale, con un’anima tutta sua e originale quanto l’impatto grafico. Ed è in italiano.
