Okay, this is not a totally awful game but it needs few fixes. Then it will be quite a good game. There are several problems that needs to be fixed. First, poor optimization. It usually runs smoothly but has frequent stuttering. I won't mind few loading screens but not the stuttering. Sometimes, it stuttered so bad that I couldn't even progress further. The combat feels meaningless. You can beat the sh*t out of every enemy only with the fists. Even Katherine can do that. You press the single button hundreds times then boom, you beat the game. Therefore the weapons. There's a lot of variety but no uniqueness. Every One-handed weapons use the same swing animation and work the same way. Enemy needs to be more aggressive and add combat mechanisms something like guard, dodge or whatever. Characters. I only played Josh and Katherine at this moment, but the gameplay is all the same. The stats are meaningless. If the rest of the characters are like this, I don't think I will enjoy doing the same thing 8 times. At least add some special abilities, like Josh can break some locked doors or Katherine can pick the simple locks or something like that. Inventory feels meaningless because there is no resource management. And the keys feel meaningless too. There are dozens of locked doors and keys and they are like 5 meters away from each other. Also there is a door code bug on Katherine playthrough, that needs to be fixed asap. I don't hate this game. It just not that good right now. I can feel there are some efforts put in this game, and there are some things that I like from this game. I can see the potential of this game, so I just hope this game to be better and does well. Top priorities: 1.Optimization 2.Combat system 3.Overall Gameplay
I'm gonna start by saying that the concept of the game had potential but that quickly declined due to several bugs and lack luster combat. I completed the game on the hardest difficulty and the only challenge was to stop overthinking on the puzzles. I had high hopes for the game as I am new to the series but overall I'm very disappointed. I will suggest fixing the bugs such as when you grab certain melees around the game it puts you into a cutscene that makes you stuck inside the map. Also maybe adding some IQ to the enemies I literally just ran around and spam melees for free pretty much. The game is very repetitive so I will say the replay is extremely low the only reason I went through with the game is because I was too many hours in to get a refund.
Modern gaming is not dead. I feel like I have played thru every Survival Horror game on steam, and most of them are either AAA slop that breaks from the formula or, Unfinished Tech demo early access types. This game is neither, its a Unique modern horror game with good graphics and performance that has created something that has its own identity. I wanted to be the first to get a review in but I have played enough to see what it has to offer, it is exactly what I was looking for, it has puzzles, combat, atmosphere. The Developers of this game have actually come up with something creative, I don't want to explain which may be a spoiler. Ray Tracing has almost no impact on performance but you can really see the effect of it, which is the opposite of pretty much any other game that has ray tracing. Very Excited to play the rest of the way thru this. Its kind of a bummer that the Steam Algo doesn't give visibility to new releases like this, I had to stumble across this game on Youtube, remember what it was called and actually search for it to find it today. It should have been on the New Releases page. I guess its up to us to tell people about the game. Support Indie devs and we will be rewarded with more games like this
0/10 ---------------------------- EN: I don't know how long it took them to make the game, but it only took them a month to destroy it. When I tried the demo, I thought it was a great game with original and innovative mechanics like being able to use two hands, equipping a lighter in one hand and a knife in the other, a two-handed weapon, or two weapons, one in each hand. This, along with the setting, made it a game I couldn't wait to play. It was at the top of my wish list. Just as the combat system felt great, the controller controls were wonderful, as was the auto-aim system with a firearm, which made it easy to control and enjoyable to play. A true marvel that I loved from minute one. What do we have now? 90% of what made this game great has been REMOVED, and of what's left, everything that should have been improved remains the same. The new combat system couldn't be more generic and simple. Now we don't even have an inventory, it's a popup to see how many first-aid kits or keys we have. Characters like Josh light the way with his glowing nipple. Because now, to simplify everything, you don't need to find a lighter or a flashlight. It feels ridiculous and lazy. I was going to wait until I'd completed all the characters to write this review. But since that's not possible because they haven't done a single run before launch, I'll write it. Marcus's campaign wouldn't change anything either. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3535679354 Even though it's a good game, it was a complete disappointment after playing the demo. This isn't the game they sold me with the demo. This simplified combat garbage where character seems one-handed and only punches with one arm... where's the double trigger on the controller? Where's the inventory management? The worst part isn't that, it's that they sold the game with a demo that bears no resemblance to this game, and they didn't even publish a news to inform us about the changes, nor a new demo. The store still has gifs showing fake ads and content that isn't in the game, like Katherine holding the flashlight. I don't remember if I discovered Oxide Room 208 at The Horror Game Awards Summer Showcase or at a Steam Fest. It's the first game I've bought from WildSphere, and things have to change a lot for it not to be the last. I don't know who made the last-minute decisions... but it's a real mess. 0/10
controls are crap, puzzles dont make sense, and the constant FPS with random lags even when the system can run high or ultra you have to have it at low with nothing else running and you still get stutters, the first one perfect 10/10 this one i cant give anything past a 4/10 all you do is walk around, slap monsters, and open doors and dont get me started on the reading the memo's on the pc you have to pause your game to get out the menu
if you just spam your attack punching, you can beat any enemy. But that wasn't my problem. if you have an i9 CPU the new update of the game may not work. I can't play it anymore. I've posted it many time but the dev hasn't even acknowledged my issue let alone fixed it. I was 114 mins in when they updated it and now I can't load the game. Imagine buying a $40 book and the last 2 chapters are missing ? I have requested a refund but at this stage of the game it's hard to say, it's still pending. I'll let you know how it goes when they respond. If they refund me I might go buy it on GOG where they let you revert to previous builds of the game (which they should let you do on steam) https://youtu.be/DtDfPlZQtvU
It was not the worst game, but I'm also not a huge fan. This has a lot of performance issues and involves a pretty frustrating gameplay loop of; Open door Find key Open door Find key The story was interesting, but playing all eight characters on slightly different variations of the same facility will wear you down quickly. It does not help that it is easy to miss the keys, either. Voice acting was good, and I liked the design of the monsters, but when it came to combat, it was very lacking. Melee combat consists of hitting the enemy 3 times, and then they die. There was a gore system, but I never saw any of it because enemies seemed incapable of damaging you. I understand that the rifle does less damage, so that you have more ammo, but it doesn't feel great from the player's perspective. Overall, it's okay, but absolutely not the gameplay you'd expect for £29.99
С такой убогой графой 15 fps на Steam deck даже на минимальных настройках.Оч хотелось поиграть,так как концепция игры заинтересовала.Есть в ней что то и от Пилы и от Манханта.Но чудо ждать от индюшатины не стоило.
-- DON'T BUY THIS GAME -- I played the demo, I had hope for this game but they were quickly squashed. I thought the issues present in the demo would have been ironed out but it didn't happen. Performance isn't good, no borderless mode, no key rebinding, quite a lot of bugs to be honest and lacking a lot of polish. For example a lot of the footsteps sounds between characters who wear shoes or who are barefoot overlap, which doesn't make sense. A lot of audio files don't play properly, namely effort grunts: they're weirdly cut and out of place. When interacting with computers to read a file, there's no way to leave the computer without pressing escape but then it also opens the pause menu so we have to close it. And since the pause menu freezes the game for 2 seconds before appearing, it feels super janky on top of that. This game is way too pricy compared to the state of the game and what it has to offer. 10 bucks should have been the maximum asked price for this game but to be faire, more like 7 in its current state. I don't say this to be mean but I've played game far cheaper that are far more polished and fun (check eTIRUe games for example). It's possible they fixed a few bugs, but it'll take more than "a fe fixes" to make the game better and especially for this price. Guys, Clair-obscure, Expedition 33, a game of the year contender is barely 15 bucks more expensive for infinitely more fun and polished gameplay and is in a better state than this game. Now if this game was 10 bucks or below, I wouldn't be half as harsh but hey, this is 33.50 bucks for me, I think I had the -10% launch discount but it's not much. I'm actually surprised since I wasn't expecting too much from this game. Just a gruesome and raw horror-action game but this might be the worst game I've played so far, out of the roughly 53 new games I played in 2025 (not all have been released in 2025 tho)
