Overhead places you deep underground in a forgotten bunker that seemingly appears abandoned, but that is until we explore and find out it wasn’t abandoned, but that everyone that was there has mysteriously died, or has been infected by an unknown pathogen.
Story
You are awoken from a cryogenic sleep and there appears to be some sort of experimentation that has been going on, resulting in some sort of infection that has been spreading, and some sectors have been quarantined in order to keep it from spreading. Aside from this, without spoiling too much, we find out that despite the best efforts to correctly contain the infection, there was a bit of tampering with this and as a result, the whole facility was subject to exposure.
Visuals
It’s an indie game made on unity, the environment itself, you can tell was made to try and not look like copied and pasted assets, even with some idle animations on the infected bodies and on what can only be described as masses of infected. The environment doesn’t look the worst, actually pretty okay, even decent, but some of the dead character models, if you crouch down and look at them, there are areas that are not as rendered as what is seen if you would be observing the body normally. One thing that is a bit disorientating is the idle animation, even the crouching. When not moving, your camera will “move in and out” as if your character would be in and out of consciousness or almost running, and the crouching itself is just so sudden. When standing up, its so sudden that theres no delay to show your character standing up, he just pops up like a mole in whackamole.
Design
The game sadly feels quite empty. Despite this notion that an infection is spreading and even finding bodies of those that were exposed, looking like the infection is festering within them, some even having growth within them, visibly moving…but nothing ever came out sadly. So you are exploring an empty dark facility with your flash light with little sense of direction and only subtle hints on what to do that you find through documents, which is not bad, but well, the majority of the gameplay for me was spent within the first area trying to figure out a way to restart the computers and access another area. After this, the game was quite short, and pretty self explanatory, though the game was still very very barren, with the only “living” interaction being a naked AI Persona. I say naked, because despite the AI not being human, the nipples were added to the character model for some reason. The empty world made the game feel like it took forever to complete with just wondering around to find items to progress and backtracking to see if anything was missed, not even an occasional jumpscare was put in. Soundwise, thankfully it is not entirely silent and has a decent eerie soundtrack that plays while you explore. Overall, despite how initially I was a bit intrigued by this game and hoping to have an actually scary indie game, but it felt sadly like there were some aspects missing, such as some actual danger while exploring. The only real danger was running into a room with a mass of infected which was stationary on a wall and just fired at you, so you received damage while running in to quickly and explore and never return.
«Overhead»
Review: Overhead

Graphics / Audio :
The Graphics are pretty acceptable considering this is an Indie Horror Game created with the Unity Engine. There are not a lot of recycled items within the map, textures are blurry which is honestly expected for a Horror game, the atmosphere is actually suprisingly good as it makes you feel as if you're in a forgotten bunker, it basically feels like Penumbra which is already a great comparison. Lighting and shadows aren't really High Quality but again that is nothing world breaking. [ 6,5 out of 10 ]

Gameplay :
This game is mainly a Horror game but not the ones where you fight zombies or other unnormal creatures. It is more of an explore game where you try and solve various ''puzzles'' by finding various items and notes that are hidden within each level. While you explore you can see other things too but in all honesty it does feel a little blank as there isn't much else to do ( obviously you hear voices or some mutants attack you, other than that there isn't much ). [ 6,5 out of 10 ]

Story :
There will be no spoilers or not any major ones atleast. You're basically the only one waking up from cryogenic sleep and in these ~3 hours of gameplay you only find dead bodies so there isn't any other survivor or narrator to tell you the story. Luckily you can find Notes, Computer Documents etc that have lots of information about the story and if you read them all you might like the story. Other than that it is a pretty standard story for an Indie Horror game. [ 7 out of 10 ]

Multiplayer :
[ - ]

Performance :
I had no crashes in 3 hours of Gameplay nor any Fps Drops or any other glitches or bugs. The abilty to change some settings would help a lot too. Other than that is a playable and enjoyable game! [ 7 out of 10 ]

Price :
For 6,99 Eur. ( SALES ) i have to say that it is 100% worth buying it and helping the developer. Recommended if try to figure out how to wake up from cryogenic sleep. After one hour of playing, can say nice, good atmosphere and story look like good :) https://youtu.be/OTXxrtEmo-g
There is a lot left to be desired with this game. Movement is sluggish, bulky. Even when using the left shift to sprint, there's very little noticable movement change. Likewise, there's some bug errors having to do with the mouse, and opening multiple menus. If examaning an item, one can open the map or the quit to main screen menu, and this seems to confuse and bug out the cursor. The game itself is very slow on the pickup and thirty minutes in, left me wondering if I would be slowly, sluggishly, finding my way out of this odd survivor horror style game. Not sure it quite knows what it wants to be either.
Another indie game in the "horror" genre - not having even the germ of this genre inside. Our hero wakes up in a cryo chamber, almost 100 years later, after being frozen. During awakening, the AI of the scientific base reminds us that at first we may stagger, diarrhea, bloating and hallucinations are possible. Ho-ho! From that moment on, I began to prepare for scary screamers - which will constantly appear in the field of view due to the unstable psyche of the hero! But the first minutes of the game immediately killed my expectations. In addition to the constantly swaying and floating picture, I found only a couple of mutilated corpses and a drop of blood in one of the rooms. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2778342711 The game turned out to be another walking simulator, with a flashlight through the dark corridors of a scientific complex - of which there are simply heaps in the Steam store. The only thing that really scared me was the optimization of the game. For fairly simple graphics - the game eats up RAM quite a lot. In addition, it often freezes. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2778342628 The rooms are hidden in the darkness of underloaded textures. The walls of the building have gaps between the textures - which allows you to look "beyond the map". And "audio reports" - are not reproduced. Pros:

+ Big discount in the Steam store
Minuses:

- There are bugs
- Slick plot
- The absence of "screamers" does not justify the "horror" genre in the description.
- Frequent friezes
Total: The developer promised an interesting story - but did not even try to make at least some plot in the game. After the final scene, you will have a lot of questions - which no one will answer you. There is nothing in the game that could cost $1. The game is not recommended for purchase.
Genre
Ein kurzes First Person Exploration Adventure mit Leichten Horror Elementen
Story
Fazit

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
I played this game with my girlfriend just to play some cheap horror game and honestly.. it wasnt good. I was hoping there would be anything scary in it. There was one jump scare in it and it was a butt on the wall. We beat the game in around an hour. It says i have 20 hours played but i left the game on over night and didnt know. Id buy this game when its on sale (which i did) but wouldnt recommend with full price. I promise. Not worth anything more than maybe 2-3$$.
