Top tier!!! Can't wait for OutWard2!!!
Outward is charming game that asks: how would a regular person fair in a fantasy world as an adventurer. This isn't a simulator, at it's core it is an adventure game but one that allows people to do co-op couch play to take down enemies, explore ruins, and survive while discovering the history and lore of the world. This game isn't without it's flaws, the controls can be clunky at first, combat is simple but can be frustratingly difficult, and travel is slow, forcing you to travel on foot going from town to town. But unlike other games, it adds to the game's charm and makes the world feel real. Defiently worth playing and I look foward to what the developers do in the sequel to make the game better.
What I was hoping for was a fairly generic, open-world single player sword-and-sorcery adventure-ish simulator; which this game sort-of-is, but the entire experience has been dreadfully underwhelming and rather disappointing. - The combat is rather unsatisfying, - The lore seems to be trying too hard to be different - The introductory story feels contrived and simply isn't compelling - The environmental visuals are okay, but dated - The environmental lighting is pretty useless, particularly in the dark - There is no jump. Wut?
combat is so bad
Not at all beginner friendly. I dided 6 times in less then 15 minutes, without it being intentional. I was Immediately unable to finish the first quest, which requires you to gather 150 silber, to keep your house. There is no tutorial and if thre was, it was not obvious enough to find it.
Passez votre chemin.
Like elden ring but without the fun parts.
