It's basically a Souls-like shooter. It's worth playing if you enjoy souls-likes, which I don't. A shooter becoming a souls-like is like a shooter evolving in reverse and that applies to most genres of games that implement dark souls mechanics. Unfortunately I live in a world where people actually like games that have evolved in reverse, they like souls-likes. That's the only reason I recommend it outside of it being a functioning single player game with no microtransactions or drm. I'm done with the game now.
Alright. So, I've played enough of this to say that it works and that it is somewhat enjoyable. Outliver's gameplay is unique, combining dungeon crawling, souls like, treasure hunting all in one package that clearly took effort. Weapons need an empty chime. I would personally prefer the lead to not smile while being attacked by demons. Hopefully the level format changes because I could easily see the game getting repetitive. Also, the music cheapens the experience. Ambience alone would have been fine. I will update this review eventuality.
Aproveite o jogo!
Overwhelming negative review. This game won't even open for me anymore. Clearly needs some finetuning or something because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I'm not putting up with this garbage. Avoid like the plague.
It's a neat little game, yes the voice acting is pretty bad, it's not very challenging, the story and the combat are basic but it all fits together rather well. Yoruba stories are really rare in games as are african themed environments, I would like to see more games like this.
As a souls-like game lover, I definitely enjoyed playing this game a lot. I got familiar with this game first on Epic Games. Although I played the game on normal difficulty to understand the game story more, but liked the game so much that I bought the game key for steam also. Loved the story, spooky atmosphere, puzzle design and exploration. Moreover the shooting mechanic really gives a upper hand on the boss fights. The framerate might give challenges sometimes to adjust. But overall gameplay was smooth for me.
