Overall a pretty good game with some notable flaws... 8/10 This game is visually stunning, even playing it 9 years later it holds up, which is why the over-reliance on noisy, unfocused night vision to see anything is such a loss, I believe. In the first half it felt like going toward a single goal and getting arbitrarily postponed again and again, that said, this is simply all too common in videogames for it to be too notable of a flaw. However in the second half you are constantly switching between hallucinogenic flashbacks and back to the real world, leaving you without really knowing the progress you are making in the story, and simultaneously not getting much anywhere with understanding the flashbacks. The flashbacks started pretty good but then just kept getting more and more repetitive with no true innovation or difference and just continuously postponing the actual story behind them. That said, visuals in these are pretty awesome at times. The movement felt weirdly good from the moment I stepped into the game, and with few clunky exceptions, it really is great movement overall. The notes... I really wanted to commit myself to reading all the notes I found, but I cba, which is a shame, some of the ones I read were interesting while others way drawn out and felt irrelevant so I simply stopped reading them. There are other small gripes I have with the game, but overall a pretty good experience (personally prefer it to the original, not that they are similar in many ways). Recommend on discount.

Its a must for Horror Fans.
