Overview
Outbreak Epidemic is a third-person survival horror, playable in solo or co-op, set in the present times at an unspecified location. After a mysterious chemical compound starts reanimating the dead, mutating some and turning each into bloodthirsty monsters, the paths of four survivors cross under a common goal: escaping the outbreak alive. 🔵 Pros

You can share the pain with up to 4 players in co-op.
🔴 Cons

Mediocre (at best) visuals, with clunky animations, inconsistent quality of models / textures, low quality effects.
Severe technical problems in multiple fields. More in the technical section further down.
Boring missions, being mostly a series of fetch quests done through corridor-like environments.
Badly designed loot systems, leading to severe backtracking all the time for the wrong reasons.
Unreliable hit detection, sometimes not registering while others hitting players (or enemies) in ridiculous ways.
Most class passive skills are too weak to be really game-changing. Most feel generic and indistinct.
Incredibly annoying, low quality, and borderline comical character chatter and damage-related sounds.
Recycled, dull storyline and generic characters that feel like something already seen a million times over.
Very low variety of enemies (only four), all behaving in the exact same manner as well.
XP rate in the Campaign is too low compared to optional modes, grinding those is necessary to level up at an acceptable pace.
Limited weapon selection (five guns and three [useless] melee weapons), with balance problems as well.
Inventory is not carried from one mission to another, so being conservative or thorough with looting is meaningless.

Rating: Worthless
Click here for the complete Rating Chart https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1998393960 As usual, let's start with the good things. Or THE (single) good thing I can say about this game: you can play with up to four other people, to have some company and together make the utterly terrible experience of Outbreak a bit less miserable. Now onto the immense ocean that made up by negative parts of this experience. First of all, even for an indie game, the graphics are mediocre but more than that inconsistent, seeming like a patchwork of different assets and sources poorly cobbled together. After that, the technical issues are really bad, from the minor animation and responsiveness problem, to game-breaking tier desync issues and bugs, this game has it all. Game design is as well terrible, with boring fetch missions composing the totality of tasks given to our heroes, without any tensions spike or memorable moment, everything happens in an extremely dull, forgettable manner. Inventory size is disproportioned compared to stack sizes and number of items to carry, this leads players, especially in solo, to backtrack even whole, empty levels to progressively get resources they need. The fact inventories are not carried over between stages does not reward conservation and perception in looting, pillars of survival horror games. The games attempt a Killing Floor like class system, which fails spectacularly as most classes' passive bonuses are too low to actually make an impact, some are decent, but all dim in the light of a specific class with massive inventory size, which becomes by far the best choice as it "fixes" the loot related issues mentioned earlier. The variety of weapons and enemies is miserable, all guns feel the same and as well enemies behave the same, further dulling the experience. Weapon balance is as well off, with Pistols being redundant as SMG has the same damage, and melee weapons being a complete joke due to aiming inaccuracy and animations. Overall, Outbreak Epidemic is an irreparable disaster. Almost no redeeming qualities combined with one of the most disastrous technical and game design train wrecks I have seen in a long time, make this an horrendous title that has no reason whatsoever to be played.
Liked this review, and want to see more of the same quality? Check out Tamaster's Review Archive to see all my Reviews in a single, convenient location.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1998394210
In-Depth Breakdown
🎮 Gameplay Analysis The gameplay of Outbreak Epidemic is divided into Preparation, Exploration, Character Management, Puzzles and Combat. Preparation Is done before starting a game session via a menu. Here players can select one of the three game modes (Campaign, endless Survival or Experimental levels), their class among the 8 available ones, two for each character, difficulty and stage, all levels are already unlocked from the start (!). Private and Public sessions can be made, friends can join via the server browser. Exploration Is done on foot, and is essential to be thorough of course, as when tougher enemies start to surface you'll need a lot of ammo to bring them down. As in any survival horror stockpiling ammo and supplies is vital, but the minuscule inventory space, considering every item of the same size, even quest-related ones, is completely off compared to how much ammo you need, so backtracking a lot is mandatory, at least with 2 players. While exploring some lore entries can be found, they tell more about the story or give clues on what to do next. Enemies do not respawn and are in finite numbers, neither drop loot. Character Management Is done through an inventory panel where you can use healing items, combine ammo stacks or other things, and unload surplus guns to keep only ammo. The problem with inventory is that it's far too small, unless you play as a Renegade, which has a massive inventory, and leads to backtracking far more than it should. You cannot use healing items on other players, but anything can be dropped. Puzzles Are always combination locks, where the keycode needs to be deduced by reading nearby documents. They are never very complex or interesting. Combat Plays out in a third person fashion with a laser sight. Making headshots inflicts much more damage in Realism mode, and making every shot count is important. Melee is completely unusable as you can't block enemy blows, and the passive health regen on kill of the melee class is insufficient - the unreliable hit system does the rest. Weapons are unbalanced, with Pistols being redundant, while Magnums and Grenade launchers have far too limited ammo compared to the not so great damage they deliver. In general combat is a dull, repetitive kiting game with copy-pasted enemy behaviors and not much challenge unless you get unlucky with enemy blows. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1998394373 🔩 Technical PC Specs: RTX2080Ti, Ryzen 3900X, 32GB RAM DDR4 The game has severe issues. Optimization is nonexistent, as this game in 1440p, 144hz, on both lowest and highest settings, results in 90-100% usage on a 11GB 2080Ti, with noticeable frame drops when enemies are numerous. Graphics settings do not save properly. Playing co-op smoothly is impossible, as my partner was frequently kicked out, when he re-entered the game his character glitched irreparably every time. Player and as well enemy blows are inconsistent, several times not registering, while menus and UI are clunky and unresponsive. Desync issues such as players seeing enemies in different positions or animation bugs aren't uncommon.
Final Thoughts
Outbreak Epidemic is a really bad title that tries to create a Resident Evil-like experience, but fails completely because of immense technical problems, bad game design, mediocre visuals and uninspired story.
▶️Introduction
Outbreak Epidemic is a third person survival horror game taking place in September 2016, set at an unknown location. After a mysterious project in the form of liquid/acid got out of control and intoxicated every dead human and even mutating the living ones while turning them into bloodthirsty mindless puppets, people tried to survive. In all that Chaos 4 survivors team up in order to find out what happened. The game was developed and published by Dead Drop Studios. Release Date : 11th Feb. 2020 Last known update: 12th Feb. 2020 (Content Update) ?.

🔹Positive Aspects:

The game actually starts up.
You can share the eternal pain with up to 4 people ( Co-oP ).
Game offers classes.
🔸Negative Aspects:

Horrible performance even on above average devices.
Major problems when playing Online.
Very boring and reused missions leading to a frustrating experience.
Inconsistent hit registration.
Dank audio quality, with some sounds even missing.
EXP system is broken as it doesn’t even make sense to play the Campaign.
Dull and overused storyline that barely sparks a fire of interest.
Inventory system is borderline useless as one ID Cards takes the same spot as a Grenade Launcher.
Weapons and Classes are not balanced at all.
🎮Gameplay:
Does Outbreak Epidemic Impress me? No, it doesn’t

Movement/Gunfights : As mentioned above, it is a third person shooter, so let me tell you about the good aspects of this category first, well, there are none. The game isn’t smooth or even reliable as far as movements at all.It genuinely feels like a one and done game that didn't get tested enough. Running looks absolutely hilarious as you look like a penguin doing the Moon Dance while going forward, moving side to side feels awkward and makes the whole ‘’Evade enemy attacks’’ feel like a chore. Multiple areas of the maps have glitching problems, character movement feels slow as well, these are my problems with the movement only. Gunfights are a whole other thing to talk about. Some Guns are almost useless to pick up, for example the Pistol is straight up useless after you find the SMG as it does almost the same damage per Bullet but offers much much better dps so why still use the pistol? The shotgun is inconsistent as hell and due to the limited shots you get you’re basically useless to your teammate. As mentioned hit registration is not really reliable and can cause you problems but aiming by itself is totally a no go, the vision and overall feel while aiming is just making the whole experience even worse.
Enemies : Only 4 enemies, while all behave and attack the same, you get the easiest ones that are traditional slow walking zombies and they are pretty easy to deal with. Next are enemies that are smaller but run a lot faster and need more bullets to deal with while the 3rd variant is just the same but simply bigger and last are the giants that are huge and can take up to 3 grenade launcher attacks. Overall the enemies are pretty boring but due to the pathetic shooting mechanics and inconsistencies.
Stages/Inventory: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2026611623 Going into the mission you will pretty soon realise that every mission outside of the first one (aka the tutorial) is just way to long and boring overusing certain patterns, so in short every mission has way too much filler. Due to the poor inventory system you will have a lot of backtracking in your adventure which will present you even more frustration on a silver plate. The Inventory system is honestly so bad that it gives me the impression that the devs didn’t even test the game. They tried to copy a nice inventory system like Resident Evil or Deus Ex but its just a box with multiple slots, what am I saying with that? A small ID Card or a Key for a locked door takes up the same space as a Combat Shotgun or a Grenade Launcher, that is just poorly made. Truth be told the experience was just awful and lackluster.

📚Story:
Spoiler Alert… In an unknown location in Autumn 2016 some sort of failed experiment got mixed with water-lines and it got out of control, after just some days all the deads became brain-eating cannibals without any control over anything while not caring about physical pain either. 4 people found each other by accident and decided to fight for their survival ( Gwen, Renault, Tom and Kara ). While on their adventure they find out about how the epidemic probably started as Notes and other valuable Documents are scattered around the maps. After gathering resources and other items in order to survive they decide to fix the helicopter in order to flee. Overall it is a pretty ok story but it is only presentable in Text form.
🕹Online/Co-oP:
After around 40 minutes of stable connection the game was deciding to randomly kick me out of the session and the funniest thing is that after I attempted to rejoin it was basically starting a whole new game for me but without any weapons and with my teammate not responding at all. So the game was basically sending me in another dimension where every zombie stayed alive and due to the coronavirus the devs decided to protect me by removing all the weapons and freezing my teammate to death. *jokes* Truth be told it was a pretty messed up experience.
🌇Graphics / Audio:
Visually the game has a lot of problems as well, after turning down the visuals the game actually looked better in my opinion which is bizarre. Most of the solid objects like crates and rocks are actually see through which is straight up trashcan worthy. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2026611730

Graphics: The Visuals are far below the average in my opinion but here are some screenshots. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2026612933 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2026612781
Audio / Soundtrack: The audio has cursed quality and could be considered Dank audio files it’s as if the files got Deep fried. If you’re in a bad health state your character will start moaning badly with the same screaming loop until you heal yourself. Overall my ears started bleeding so solid work.

🌀Performance:
Is this game really that horrible? Y e s Well you would say 90% to 100% GPU Usage is pretty damn high for a GTX 1070 right? Yeah. But my teammate with an RTX 2080ti got the same percentages which is circus material.

My Device: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 16GB RAM, GTX 1070: 40-60fps Lowest Settings 1080p.
🖥️Bugs / Glitches / Crashes: In 5-6 hours of endless suffering and restarting the game I had multiple crashes and disconnects that I lost count of these events. Overall it should still be in alpha. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2026611849

💲Price:
8,19 Eur. is 8,19 too much for a game like this.
⚖️Conclusion:
Outbreak Epidemic is a horrible display of an Indie Resident Evil game with problems in every category. This game offers absolutely no redeeming factors at all. Avoid it, period.
📉Overall rating:Just avoid it, it doesn’t deserve a rating.
Date of the Review: 18.03.2020
[th]
Follow our curator page, OCG-Curations, if you like and want to see more reviews like this one.
If you are a fan of 'No More Room In Hell' but thought the graphics and gameplay was a bit clunky and ugly, then you're going in the wrong direction... You're going to wish this game had a working 'K' button.
nah
While not the worst game you will play, the controls are stiff and sluggish, the zombie's AI being way too simple and the camera needs to be closer to the shoulder of the character as aiming feels disconnected. Buy the game when it's super cheap if you are curious but it's not worth the full price. A shame as the game has some potential which hopefully shows itself in the next title in the series.
Przecież to poważny tytuł. Podczas strzelania wrogowie nie reagują na otrzymywane obrażenia, a hitboxy są naniesione bardzo wątpliwie. To wszystko sprawia, że strzelanie, czyli najważniejsza część gry jest przerażająco beznadziejne. To niech chociaż dźwięk będzie zrobiony poprawnie! - Bunshiin. We completed the story on a 2 player game on EASY. i may be ignorant to any changes per difficulty besides what is already said at the menu. All stairwells, any steps for that matter, we would see our characters get stuck. we had to jiggle a little to move. I like the lumberjack class. That life steal with a sledgehammer. My gosh lol. Running stamina is short. It is what it is. I haven't tried any Crippling shots towards the legs. Not sure if it is applied. oh the grenade launcher, i shot the ground expecting an immediate kill on small zombies. they were just engulfed in flames. seems under powered. the magnum is the best. no contest. From where the series started, top-down view to a classic resident evil camera to a 3rd person shooter game. Excellent. This game is evolving. I assume in little time it'll only get better and better.
I am a sucker for zombie games... especialy ones that refer to my all time favourite Resident Evil series... So I purchased it... and 1$ might be a fair price to ask for this game is all I am gonna say here I just wish I could get my 2 hours of life back
todo gusta pero le falta ponerle idioama Español latino o Castellano a si si lo jugaria y muxos mas = +
